They sat in silence for a bit, the only sound breaking their bubble of quiet was street noises. Finally, Ace spoke up. "Well, we didn't really get to introduce ourselves on the phone… So, I'm Ace Bertial."

Deleted user

Dorian turned toward him with an awkward smile, "Dorian. I'm Dorian Lancaster." He stuck his hand out to shake with Ace, but dropped it after realizing the other wouldn't want to shake hands while he was driving. "You do book reviews, right?"

Deleted user

Ace gave a chipper smile. "Yup! Books and some art videos!" He said as he pulled into the hotel drive, it was a fancy looking place with a nice parking lot. "Here we are!"

Deleted user

Smart. Dorian thought, a bit sourly. There's no way he'd be interested–
"Damn." He said, drawing out the word for a few seconds longer than necessary. "Nice place… Uh. You don't think we have to share rooms do we?"
Oh god, please don't take that as an insult.

Deleted user

"I don't think so, I'm pretty sure that all the other YouTubers have their own rooms." He said, not noticing anything on the other mans face.

Deleted user

Dorian remained stone faced as he said, "Cool. Cool. Cool." He could feel the high points of his cheeks getting warm so he stepped out of the car. Reaching for his bag he asked, "Where are you from? I don't remember you saying?"

Deleted user

"Originally, Italy. Then I moved to England for school and finally, I moved to Florida!" He said, listing off the places with his fingers as he got out of the car. He grabbed his bag from the trunk and smiled at the man, happy to be in L.A.

Dorian's brows flicked up in surprise as they walked into the hotel. "Oh wow. That's quite the journey." He said returning his smile with his classic grin. "What made you start vlogging?" He didn't mean to start an interrogation of his companion, but he honestly enjoyed talking to him. A mystery in its own right.

Ace bit his lip and seemed to think for a moment before deciding what to say. "When I was younger, there were no well-known books that had major LGBT+ representation. I felt lost for a bit, I didn't really know that me being trans was okay because straight was the default. So, when I was old enough to move out, I created a YouTube channel to show people of the community or questioning people that there were people like them and that there were books about it… I guess."

Dorian nodded in understanding. "Then you are doing something to make the world a better place, more accepting of all the people within it. More accepting of the best people, I should say. That's amazing." He meant it he really did. Technically, he was still 'in the closet' simply because Dorian's parents hadn't been the most accepting people. Representation was crucial to the coming out process and feeling good and strong about oneself. He wished he had that kind of support years ago. Instead he got kicked out…
He reached out to touch Ace in a comforting manner, but dropped his hand awkwardly after a moment. He had no idea how to flirt.

Ace awkwardly finger gunned and walked through the loby doors. That went terribly. He thought sadly, saying his name and why he was there at the lobby desk.

Deleted user

Goddammit. That was adorable. Dorian tried to shake the blush from his cheeks as he followed Ace up to the counter. Another host was available to speak with him. Evidently, she knew who he was. "I would just like my room key…" He said scratching the side of his head while the girl gushed. May I should just come out on my channel so this doesn't happen anymore.

Deleted user

Once they had gotten their keys, Ace looked at both his and Dorians. "Hey look! Our rooms are right next to each other!" He says happily, trying to make up for how awkward and weird he was earlier in the day.

Deleted user

Dorian grinned. "You know that means we're having a movie marathon, right?" The words blurted out of his mouth before he had a chance to stop them. Godsbedamned. Why did I have to go and say that??!
He cleared his throat awkwardly before turning abruptly towards the elevators. When did I get so damn shy? That damn Ace. Stop throwing me off my groove.

Deleted user

"Hell yeah! Do you like horror?" Ace asked he was finally on a subject he felt comfy with. "I'm okay with horror but I prefer an action/comedy." He said, slinging his keys around on his fingers as he spoke.

Deleted user

Dorian laughed, actually laughed. It was a happy genuine sound that surprised even him. "Uh– My tag is 'CreepyCreature' for a reason, Ace. Of course I love horror! But, since you drove us, I will let you pick the first movie as long as you let me order us room service. I'm a pro at ordering food. Seriously. The best."
This is NOT a date, Dorian, don't you chicken the hell out.

Deleted user

Ace crossed hia arms and pretended to think hard for a bit. "You drive a hard bargain, but I suppose we could do that. Now what movie should we watch…." Ace muttered that last part to himself.

Deleted user

"Something not too gory." Dorian said as they walked down the hall. "Since we're about to eat. I'd rather not have you throw up all over me." He added a wink to Ace, letting him know that he was only joking.

Deleted user

"I think… Let's watch a vigilante movie!" Ace decides with a smile, stopping when they come in front of their doors. "I wonder if this hotel has those doors that connect the room…" He muttered.

Deleted user

"Vigilante?" Dorian asked as he struggled with his key card. He looked over at Ace, "Like Batman?"
He wasn't sure exactly if it would be a good thing if their rooms connected or not. He could foresee a million ways it could turn out if they did. A blush spreading across his cheeks.

Deleted user

"I guess." Ace said, shrugging with the power of a thousand suns and caffeine. "I always think that heroes are so stuck up, I prefer anti-heroes or vigilantes. They always have better pasts and much better motives than 'Ooh, I want to save the world' or some shit like that."

Deleted user

Dorian chuckled at Ace's speech. "Fine. Fine. You choose your vigilante and I will rack up the hotel bill. Any dietary restrictions I should know about?" Finally the door popped open with a satisfying click and Dorian pushed into the room.

Deleted user

"Nope!" Ace said as he unlocked his door and slipped into the hotel room. A few minutes later a cheer is heard as he discovers that their rooms are connected.

Deleted user

Dorian stared at the door that connected his room to Ace's. Oh mannnn. Oh man.
He dropped his bags on his bed and strode over to the door. A few second later had it unbolted and propped open. Dorian peered into Ace's room. "Party time." He said with a lot more confidence than he felt. His heart was racing.

Deleted user

"Fuck yeah, I want to get chips. A lot of chips! I may be very sleep deprived!" Ace said, giving a thumbs up and slinging himself onto the couch.
