Thomas flew into the city before landing on the top of a super tall building, grinning and letting out a loud whoop. He stretched out his wings out, grinning widely
Sh spotted a civilian, or what looked like it on top of a roof, but the grim reaper wasn't next to them. When she got a closer look she saw that it was an angel, with the face of Thomas in her homeroom class.
Thomas folded his wings, running and jumping off the edge of the roof and falling for a few yards before unfurling his wings and returning to the roof, thoroughly happy
She sped down after him, the butterflies returning to her stomach. "Thomas?" she called after him
Thomas Froze, turning and seeing her, "Rose?" He asked incredulously, landing on the roof, he folded his wings behind his back, "You're a…. a demon?" Hr asked quietly
"You're an angel?" she sputtered. A blush covered her body and she let out a laugh, 'I had a crush on an angel?' she thought to herself, before gathering herself again, a wind bringing her dark waves up to her wings.
Thomas nodded, "Or, I was" he said, "For some reason I was placed in the mortal world with a mortal life" he shook his head, "I have no idea why"
"I put myself here to see how humans work and all these pesky emotions started to arise and I still have to stay here for a few years. This sucks, " she replied fixing her top and pulling up her pants, stretching her wings
Thomas sat down on the edge of the roof, "I have no idea what my purpose is" he admitted, "I have these memories, this name, this life that isn't mine and I have no idea what to do with it"
Share it with me "You have his phone right? Was he suicidal or something? If so might that be why you're down here?" she asked, not really knowing how heaven worked. She sat down beside him.
Thomas shook his head, "He was actually really happy" he admitted, "Had a great family, a terribly tragic past though" the boy ran a hand through his hair, "But he was in a really good place"
"You could feel that, couldn't you" she replied, knowing how it felt when she died.
Thomas nodded silently, pulling his wings tight against his back. He looked over, "But everything happens for a reason, right?" He smiled tightly
"Yeah, but question is, where is he if you're in his body?" she asked, trying to hide a stubborn blush.
Thomas was silent for a moment, "I'm not sure" he admitted, "I think he's still here a bit" he pondered aloud, standing and facing her. For the first time, he was struck with her beauty. Quickly, he turned away and faced the rest of the city
She watched his gaze melt into hers and for a while, she let it but snapped herself away as his attention turned back to the cityscape. "What do you mean?" she asked, turning to him once again while brushing a lock of deep brown hair behind her ear.
"Sometimes I can just feel that Im not alone" Thomas said, turning back to her, "I don't know how to explain it… just that I'm not the only one in this body"
"Maybe he's just saying goodbye to everyone and we'll end up stuck in these bodies till we're what… what is old in human years?" she laughed, her eyes sparkling as she did.
"Ha-ha. Gods, I hope not" he said, laughing. He looked at her "Hey, you want to grab coffee or something later? I never realised how amazing it is, but now I can't get enough"
"You aren't wrong, it's addicting." she smiled, looking at him. "Yes, I would love to get coffee with you" she replied, her eyes shifting between rose gold and red
Thomas smiled, "I'll need to grab a shirt to hide my wings, but I'll never you at the Starbucks on seventh?" He suggested
"That sounds great" she mumbled, only just realizing that his top half was naked. The blush travelled downwards to her chest and neck and she could no longer hide it under the backless tank-top she wore.
Thomas noticed it. How could he not? He chuckled and leapt off of the roof, soaring down towards his house and pulling on a shirt, grumbling as it trapped his wings
She kicked herself mentally, watching him fall off of the roof. She sprinted towards the opposite side of the roof, falling off back first. Her wings caught her just before others could possibly see. She jolted up toward the sky, fixing her shirt and heading home. When she got there she slipped on some shoes and took her wallet, hopping on her motorbike and heading towards 7th street.
Thomas walked out of the house and jumped into a car, driving towards the coffeeshop and getting out, stretching for a moment before walking inside, breathing in the smell of coffee beans
She shook her hair out of the helmet, parking her bike at the front of the coffee store and walking in, shrugging her sweater off. Her eyes scanned the room for Thomas.
Thomas looked over and raised a hand to show her where he was
She smiled softly and walked over to him, sitting down in front of him, "I want to know your angel name if you can remember it" she asked, her eyes sparkling against the sun's reflections in the window.
Thomas frowned, thinking, "Vretiel" he said eventually, "I almost couldn't remember" he smiled, "So much better than Thomas"
