Nathaniel stayed silent, huddling closer to V to feel more safe. He figured that at this point, this was between Urielle and the woman, and it wasn't his place to step in.
Nathaniel stayed silent, huddling closer to V to feel more safe. He figured that at this point, this was between Urielle and the woman, and it wasn't his place to step in.
V pressed close to Nathaniel, covering the angel from the woman.
Urielle glanced around, seeming lost. "I never… I never wanted that for him-"
The woman shook her head "sure, but you were to selfish to see past his decision, his lie that he told you so you wouldn't worry."
Jarvis had been busy serving and working at the bar to notice his mother had walked in and only glanced up now. His eyes widened when he saw that Urielle had found her first and was now looking at her in confusion. "oh no, damn." He made his way through the crown to where they all stood and came to stand beside his mother. "mom, you came early. I was hoping to talk to you before I intro-" she cut him off with a flap of her wings "no need Jarvis. I think I've heard and said enough."
Urielle look at Jarvis, not his usually happy way, more of a confused and distanced stare. He turned without a word and made his way out the door.
V glanced at them before pulling Nathaniel with him to follow Urielle
Nathaniel just let V drag him along, his heart racing. He was very confused and had no clue what was going on. He hoped that nothing would happen to Jarvis, but the woman had seemed very pissed.
Jarvis left his mother's side and ran to the door, hoping to catch Urielle before he got to far.
V had caught up with Urielle and glanced up at him anxiously, feeling like a kid again before he reminded himself he had Nathaniel this time and he wasn't alone in a new world. "I'm assuming you didn't know anything she just told you?"
Urielle shook his head and glanced at the two "I'm sorry, I know you wanted o talk to her about the alterations." he bit his lip and took in a breath
"It… it's fine, Urielle…" Nathaniel sighed and moved closer to V. He felt horribly guilty, even though he hadn't done anything wrong.
V wrapped an arm around Nathaniel, needing his comfort as much as Nath needed his. "we'll work things out later. Are you alright?"
Urielle looked at the two with a small smile before it faded and he shook his head "no, not really."
"Is there anything we can do to help, Urielle?" Nathaniel asked softly, tucking his head under V's chin.
V pressed a kiss to his head as they continued to walk, glancing up at Urielle in worry
"No, don't worry about me. You two need to focus on the wedding. I'll handle this." he reassured, glancing behind him as his name was called.
"But you've helped us so much, Urielle… surely there's something we can do?" Nathaniel looked around for wherever had called Urielle.
"I'm not sure there is, Nath." he offered a small smile to the angel and turned around, watching as Jarvis ran up to them, his mother could be seen close to the door of the cafe.
"Urielle please, whatever she said to you it's not true." jarvis stopped a few feet away, trying to catch his breath.
"So you didn't leave on your own accord, you were kicked out?" he asked, pain evident in his eyes
Nathaniel watched the interaction sadly, sticking close to V's side. He figured it would be best to stay silent and not intrude.
Jarvis glanced up and sighed softly "ok, that was my choice. yes. But i don't regret it. I don't regret being down here for you."
Urielle shook his head, "you had such an amazing future up there. You could have changed things up there."
Jarvis shook his head "you know it wouldn't change. If I've spoken up I would have gotten kicked out anyways. Plus, I didn't want to be a part of their cherade. No matter how good of a soldier i was. You taught me that. A soldier doesn't stand by while the other gets stabbed. They take action and they fight. Thats what I'm doing here. fighting."
"Nothing ever changes up there, Urielle…" Nathaniel said softly. "You know that as well as we do. If things changed, V and I would still be up there."
Urielle glanced over to Nathaniel and then looked at the ground "I know." he said softly, glancing up when Jarvis took a few steps closer and cupped his cheek "I just though that if someone were up there that resisted there'd be a chance…"
Jarvis shook his head sadly and pressed a kiss to Urielle's head "there's not a chance up there. Not anymore with you gone as well as some of our best generals. But there is a chance down here. starting with us, with V and Nathaniel. with all the other angels who have survived down here and defied them."
Nathaniel nodded a bit. "They're never going to change, Urielle. They've never changed, and I don't think they ever will. There's only so much we can do, and what we do gets us kicked out. Unfortunately, that's just how it is."
v hugged Nathaniel close and nodded in agreement.
Urielle sighed in defeat and pressed into Jarvis' hand "I know. I've known for a while. i was just hanging on…."
Jarvis pulled him and the boys into a tight embrace, speaking to them in a calm voice. "we've all been hanging on, it's time to let go."
Nathaniel sighed softly and nodded, lacing his fingers with V's. "Where are we gonna go?" He asked softly.
V pressed a kiss to their interlaced hands. “Home love, I think these two need to talk alone.” He said, giving Urielleone last reassuring hug and pulling away gently from the older angels
"Alrighty… see you later, Urielle, Jarvis." Nathaniel hugged them both tightly before he let V pull him away. He trailed after him back home.
Urielle and Jarvis smiled softly at the two and nodded, walking back towards the cafe while the boys walked the other way.
V stroked Nathaniel’s hand gently and looked at him. “You ok love?”
"Yeah, m'alright… I'm just kinda sad. For Urielle and Jarvis, I mean…" Nathaniel sighed. "Jarvis's mother is gonna tear into them…"
V gently pulled him close and kissed his head “no love, I don’t think Jarvis will let her do that, not to Urielle.” He reassured
"I hope you're right…" Nathaniel sighed and hugged V tightly. "I don't want anything bad to happen to them… we need to head back, though."
V picked Nathaniel up, securely wrapping his legs around his waist as he walked home. "Neither do I Nath, I'm sure they'll be alright, I have a feeling that those two won't let much get between their love." he pressed a kiss to Nathaniel's head and pulled open the door to their house
Nathaniel nodded, clinging tightly to V when he was picked up. "I love you so much, V…" He murmured softly.
