Mirabilis sat quietly at the table, having remained in place while the young adventurers took their leave to their rooms. For a moment, those grayish green eyes of hers seemed to move, watching Aeolus and Bishop rather closely. Her gaze seemingly narrowed, even as they disappeared up the steps and out of sight.
Jinx, the strange creature, had hopped off its master's shoulder to the table. It moved its head, gnashing its fangs again. Those lantern-like eyes moved, coming to look at its mistress. A strange sound came from it, till it spoke, "You looking after that particular pair of kiddies for a bit now…shall I do some investigating mistress?"
Her eyes remained settled on the steps where she had last seen them head upwards. She moved a hand, lightly stroking the creature's spine as it stood on the table. Her voice lowered, speaking softly for its ears alone, "There is something…they are not letting on, particularly the boy. Though perhaps it is just because they are not natives of these lands."
A soft snort from the creature, flicking its tail to the side, "Eh, native or not, can't have a couple of troublemakers slink about. For all we know, could put the kingdom in an unfavorable situation."
The woman went silent for several moments at the creature's words. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to get lost in her thoughts. Jinx made a fair point, the sorceress knowing fairly well how the Igreacean Kingdom was run, personally knowing and have met the ruler. If such individuals were to prove a threat to the peace, well, they just couldn't have that now could they?
Her eyes opened again, "You make a point Jinx…"
Mirabilis shifted a bit in her seat. Her hands moved, coming to rest neatly in her lap. Her gaze was now upon the creature before her, voice remaining soft, "Go…and do try to behave yourself while searching."
The quadruped creature's mouth turned upwards in a grin. It leaned back on its haunches, seemingly lifting a paw, giving a salute, "I gotcha covered. I'll see what I can dig up on the kiddies."
Then without another word and a soft 'whoosh', the creature called Jinx hopped off and away, disappearing into the darkness.
Oshiera had already finished in her room and was waiting silently, already seated at the table with Mirabilis. Upon the table, an array of different dishes were set; whole roast chicken, baked potatoes, mixed veggies, and a platter of mixed fruit as well.
The creature remained wrapped in her cloaked, the only visible features of being a smooth scaled clawed hand with webbed fingers, a dark colored tail ending in folded fin currently. Her face remained concealed beneath that hood, unwilling to show her true face to the world around her. Teal blue eyes looked towards the food on the table, curious of where to start first.
She lifted a webbed/scaled hand towards the plate of fruits. The Aquaronas took hold of an orange, bringing it closer, turning it over several times. Her teal blue eyes looked at the fruit, taking note of the strange skin that seemed to cover it.
"You'll need to peel it first my dear, here."
The hooded creature lifted her head, eyes looking towards lady Mirabilis who stretched her hand outwards, a gentle smile on her features. Oshiera handed the fruit to the woman, watching with curious eyes as the sorceress pushed her fingers at what she assumed to be the top and bottom of the fruit. Then with ease, the skin was peeled back, showing the pulpy fruit within.
As it was handed back to her, Oshiera ushered a soft 'thank you' to Mirabilis, quietly popping the slices into the maw that was hidden in the darkness of her hood.
As for the sorceress, she herself had chosen a red apple from the platter of fruit. In her hand, she held a book. Mirabilis sat in silence, flipping a page of the tome now and then. The woman paused in her reading at the sound of approaching footsteps, the soft scuff of a chair being pulled out from the table, then pushed back in again.
She lifted her head from the pages, gaze coming to settle upon the one who spoke; Aeolus. The woman quietly closed the book before her, pushing it to the side for the time being. She shifted slightly in her seat, then allowed her gray green eyes to come and rest upon the man.
"I will answer what I can, Aeolus," her voice was even, holding little to no emotion, "Though I cannot guarantee that I will have an answer to all of your questions."
