“Ah, yes,” Adaline paused as she peered at his nametag. Dae. What an interesting name. “Dae, I’ll have the scrambled eggs with toast, please,” she smiled politely at the short man. She wondered if the large man at the bar would make the food appear as he did with the drink. Surely there was a cook?
(Ah, the man at the bar is someone else. Not Cameron xD)
Dae smiled a happy little elf smile, writing down the order. “You said scrambled egg? Would you like it cheesy or plain? Have salt or pepper or neither?”
((Oh no, lol. Adaline was just wondering if the man at the bar was the cook))
“Cheesy, please. Oh, and with salt and pepper. Thank you,” Adaline gave the elf another smile as she handed him her menu. This restaurant sure was a nice place. Why hadn’t she tried it sooner?
(Lol, alright, just making sure you knew ^~^)
Dae nodded and smiled, hurrying over to the bar and squeaking up at the man there. He took the order and hung it up on a stringed window, with awaiting clothespins with other orders and went back to his magazine. Dae squeaked once more, the man sighed, turned, and rang a bell.
“New orders, Cameron,” The man drawled.
Adaline watched the exchange with curiosity. So there is a cook. She turned her attention back up to the photographs. Some of them were of beautiful landscapes captured by who she imagined was a very talented photographer. Peering closer, she recognized one of the people as the King. The King had been here?! Then she really had been missing out.
The photograph even had the King’s loopy signature in a silver color. It was in the corner and quite tiny. If she squinted she could see the name “Neophyte “Neo” Whembrooke”.
A dark hand reached up and took the orders. Cameron read them over and set them down, getting to cooking.
Adaline spent the rest of her time waiting for her food looking at the photos on the walls. There was a ton of them, so much that in some spots they almost covered the wall entirely. The restaurant may be at least semi-famous, she thought. I hope it's not too expensive.
Cameron made each order individually, despite how much time that took. It took a long while, to mix batter, to cook the egg… but he heard the wait was absolutely worth it. He plated each dish carefully, his brow taught in concentration. He finished, after a clean of the sides, and slid out the three orders, taking the others waiting. The bartender waved a finger, the plates lifted up and drifted on a tray. Little Dae hurried over, grabbed up the tray and gave them out, her dish finally reaching the table.
(Emi, I apologize for not being on. However, as I am having some personal problems at home, I haven’t been able to get on as much (or at all). Usually when I pull up Notebook.ai, I go to the ones I see first in my notifications and try to respond as quickly as I can, before moving onto the next ones. Sometimes I can’t get to certain roleplays just because of what comes up at the moment. Sorry for the inconvenience that it brings you.)
Adaline’s face lit up when her dish reaches her table, a smile on her face. The steaming eggs looked perfectly cooked, and the toast wasn’t a tad bit burnt. Turning to Dae, she spoke soft, but happily. “This looks wonderful, Dae. Send my thanks to the chef,” Turning her attention back to the food, she dug in, practically melting at the taste. So good…
(Oh, I’m so so sorry. I’m sorry you have problems at home and I hope it gets better soon. If you ever want to talk, I’m absolutely here for you. Sorry for bothering you.)
Dae bowed, his pointy nose brushing the ground. “Of course, m’lady!” He scurried off into the kitchen, where Cameron was cleaning off a pan before starting on another order. He relayed the compliments, Cameron smiled and sent Dae out with more orders.
“You don’t have to call me… alright,” Adaline’s voice trailed off as Dae scurried away. Well, okay then. She went back to eating her breakfast, which tasted as wonderful as it looked. She had to admit that her own breakfasts weren’t up to par.
(Skip to the end of her meal?)
(Sounds good. You start or should I?)
(Yeah sure)
“And here you are,” Adaline finished scribbling down the tip on the receipt and handed it to Dae along with her card. For being such a popular restaurant and having such good food, the prices were relatively low. Not that Adaline was complaining; she loved good cheap food when she could get it.
Dae bowed and accepted the receipt, handing her a couple chocolate mints in return.
“Thank you, my lady! Please be sure to come back soon! We’ll love to see you again!” And with that, the elf hurried off to give the check to the grumpy man at the bar.
“Oh! Thank you,” Adaline replied softly, stuffing the mints into her bag. Hopefully they won’t melt. Sweeping up her bag in her hands, she gave the restaurant one last long look, and then headed out of the restaurant and into the streets, heading to her flower shop.
Unbeknownst to Adaline, she had accidentally left her wallet at the table, containing her ID, credit cards, cash, and other assorted things.
The bartender rose, grabbing a huge white bucket full of cleaning solution. He lugged it over to the table, noticing her wallet right away.
“Oh?” He asked with a slight, sly smile. He grabbed up her things and turned to the bar, walking up to the kitchen.
“Hey, Cam, we need you to be noble again today.”
Cameron glanced up from his recipe book. “Yeah? What happened??
“Someone forgot their wallet~” The bartender hummed, waving it back and forth.
(okimhere)
Adaline continued down the street, unaware of her missing item. Maneuvering out of people's way, she hummed softly to herself, enjoying the sun while she could. Her flower shop was warm, but also slightly stuffy because of the enclosed space, much to the discomfort of her and her employees. Pushing open the doors, Adaline went back to the counter and put her bag down, petting Levi who was lounging in his basket. Such a lazy cat.
(Yay!)
Cameron crosses the room and took the things after wiping his hands on his apron. “Really? I’m surprised you didn’t make do with her things, Zackary. I might be getting to you.” He chuckled happily as he stepped out of the kitchen. “I’ll go see if her name brings up any search results and take it to her. If not, we’ll keep it here. And I’ll be keeping it in my office,” He said to his bartender, who rolled his eyes.
“Fine, fine. Who will make do with the restaurant?”
“My extra cook just came in. They’ll be starting soon.”
“How are things?” Adaline asked her employee, touching her gently on the arm. “Family doing alright?”
The employee, who’s name was Kiana, nodded feverently. “Oh yes! You know. actually, my mother just had surgery a couple days ago! She’s fine, but…” The other girl continued to talk, Adaline nodding at certain points or putting in a word of advice.
Still listening, she walked around, touching up plants when needed and gently watering them, careful not to drown them.
Cam took out his phone once he stepped outside, looking into her ID Card to find her name. Adaline….
That sounded familiar.
“Oh damn! She owns a flower shop!” Cameron remembered, slapping his forehead. He remembered Dae talking to him about a cute little shot he walks by whenever he walks to work. Cameron smiled before starting to walk in that direction, repocketing his phone.
