Eidus nodded to Eskja's reasoning. He dashed towards a canopy infront of the building across the street. With just a few seconds of exposure to the storm, his clothes were completely soaked. He looked towards another cover but there were traffic in the way.
He turned back to Eskja across the street, waiting for her to cross over the street.
(I can't really do anything unless you wanna time skip to tomorrow)
(Yeah sounds good, gimme a sec)
Eskja crosses over the street to join Eidus. The rain doesn’t bother her - typically anyways, this amount in such a short time plus having soaked clothing on definitely was not an ideal condition. She hurries over in what seems to be a mixture between running and walking, careful not to fall.
She crosses over quickly and looks to Eidus.
(Is everyone chill with me doing a time skip to the next day?)
Harrison didn’t get much sleep that night, or any for that matter. He was both working on a large painting and filled with nervous thoughts about Cora’s visit. The brief encounter the previous day hadn’t been how he had wanted to greet her after all these years, especially not when he hadn’t properly explained to her the situation with his housemates. What would she think of him after yesterday’s fiasco? He didn’t dare speculate.
He got up from his stool, inspecting the painting before moving to open his bedroom curtains. The sun instantly blinded him, causing him to cry out sharply. Not his best idea, but it definitely woke him up enough to get him to go downstairs.
Once in the kitchen, he poured himself a cup of fruit tea and stared out of the window into the garden. Hopefully Lock was back on his feet by now and tending to the plants like he always did at this time of day.
What time did Cora want to come over?
Emi came into the kitchen, licking the last flecks of blood from yesterday's prey from her claws. "You're up early," she said, seeing Harrison. She hopped onto the counter and sat, watching him. He seemed worried, nervous and disconcerted. She didn't really care.
It was a miracle in itself that she actually noticed something was wrong with him. She was probably the most self-centered being in Harrison's house. She rarely, if ever, noticed when things were going wrong in the place.
Harrison turned his head slowly, throwing the girl a disapproving look at her sitting on the counter, but went back to staring out of the window without so much as a complaint. His eyes were heavy, vision blurred to an extreme from the harsh glare of the sun reflecting on the small, polished marble fountain directly across. With a heavy sigh, he turned away.
“We’re going to have a guest today, so I’d like you to be on your best behaviour. She’s an old friend of mine, a very smart woman at that, so don’t try anything.”
Harrison directed his comment to Emi, but from the lack of emotion in his expression and the fact he didn’t even look at her… Well he could have been talking to himself for all anyone knew.
"Ha! A guest, and a girl?" Emi looked amused. "Is she gonna be your girlfriend?" She perked up slightly. "I need to call Aster, then. We could have so much fun with the guest," she said, sighing wistfully.
"A girl?" Vix yawned as she entered the kitchen. "You have a girl coming over? Hell must of froze over for that to happen." She teased, a sly grin crawling across her face.
Vix pulled up a chair at the counter, resting the head on the counter.
“I—She’s not my girlfriend.” A faint sigh followed Harrison’s statement. Perhaps at one point in time he would have imagined the two of them together, but a long time had passed since then and he didn’t know how he felt about Cora anymore. “And you will do no such thing, Emi. You—and Aster—are to treat Cora with respect, and to not make her uncomfortable in any way shape or form.
Call it instinct or whatever but as soon as his name was mentioned, Aster had to show up then and there. Apparently he was awake for quite some time now, he just happened to be stroll around the yard outside.
“Did someone say a female guest was coming?” He asked, almost in a wicked tone. Of course, he had his doubts that he was going to be horrible enough to actually do something bad to said guest… unless of course, the situation just seems to fit then that would be a totally different story.
"He did." Emi turned when Aster came in, a wicked grin on her face. Her eyes promised something terrible, which would probably make Harrison regret telling her. "And I think we may have to… help Harrison with his little problem, don't you, Aster dear?"
“I do not require help.” Harrison spat sharply. He set his cup down beside the sink and tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans. “Emi, Aster.” The boy started walking out of the kitchen, pausing at the doorway. However he didn’t turn to look at them. “Do yourselves a favour and keep out of our way today. I’m getting tired of your antics, and while I usually let them slide, today is not the day for it.” He wanted everything to run smoothly during Cora’s visit, he wanted to be able to talk to her without having anything ‘odd’ happening. “Vix, come with me, will you?”
"Someone's in a mood today," Emi pouted, frowning at the retreating Harrison's back.
She sent Aster a grin. "I'm going to go talk to her." Emi's version of talk, and a normal person's way of talking were very different. "I'll stay out of their way." She tapped a finger to her chin. "What do you think he means by keeping out of our way? What are some loopholes?"
“Harrison does have a lot of loopholes,” Aster replied with a sarcastic tone.
“If he’s brave enough to even stand up to us saying that, maybe we should give him space for once, I don’t really know,” deep down, Aster wanted his landlord to enjoy this day for once. After what happened with Lock last time, Aster felt like he should be respecting Harrison a bit more. It was in his best interest to invite Emi along with him. To do something other than annoy the living hell out of the visitor.
For a second, all Emi could do was stare. This was not Aster. Aster was fun. He was a seducer. He was a demon. he most certainly wasn't kind, or compassionate, nor did he ever stick with Harrison in a fight.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
And though Aster had his natural expression on, he was sweating internally. What would be the best claim… oh—
“Ah… sorry, I’m just… a bit tired. Maybe the soul energy is running out—“ Aster said with a tired tone, he was trying his best to keep himself together during this act.
“I might need to go on a soul hunt sometime soon, maybe even today,”
"Must be," Emi grouched, turning away from him in disgust. "I'd hate to think that you were going soft." She twirled a strand of hair between her fingers and stared at the wall. "If I knew any better, I'd think you suggested the hunt to get me out of the house while Harrison had his guest."
Vix nodded. "I'll try to keep thing running smoothly with this girl of yours." She chuckled as she sat up. "Are you going to pick her up or will she be driving over here?" She stretched. "How many 'roommates' does she know you have?"
