The supernatural do exist, but rarely will you ever see one. Or so it seems, the line taught to children growing up in order to make them less..afraid. Give them comfort.
You are a field agent put out by a Supernatural researching organization. Primarily, you just find out where rogue supernaturals are, and you share the location with your organization. You don’t really fight them. That’s more for the guys with the weapons, although you are trained in knowledge of supernaturals. All supernaturals share a common weakness - a mixture of sage, rose petals, honey, and salt in a small vial usually does the trick to keep them off of you.
The problem shows up when you uncover a supernatural recorded by no one. A supernatural who doesn’t respond to any of the normal deterrents, or lures. But that’s never happened to anyone. There’s a pretty small chance of that happening. So you should be fine. Right?
Sent by the organization to a remote location known as Nobury - you’re currently tracking down an elusive supernatural. But you could’ve sworn there was supposed to be a town here - even one with people in it. The closest town with people in it is Mirefield, a small rural town a few hours away from your current location. A man had offered you a ride to this point, but didn’t go any further into Nobury.
Instead, what lies in Nobury is a forest. A peaceful one. But silent. No birds, no wind. Just silence. The weather is nice, at least. The forest is also pretty well kept, and there’s a dock by the pond in the forest, and you can see a fishing pole - meaning that someone was fishing there recently, thus there must be a town somewhere…right?
In order to track down a supernatural and record them, it is recommended to have some bait or a lure at hand. This can be trail and error for most if the type of supernatural is unknown. Some are attracted to shiny things, others to dull. Some to food. Some to sweet, some to bitter, some to spicy. What generally goes is something that makes noise though, like a music player of some sorts.
Other times, you have a tracker at hand. All supernaturals are known to give off a signature. The energy signature is not extremely reliable - the tracker just says that you’re close to a signature, and that’s it. It’s more or less useful to find out where the supernatural is walking.
Once you see it, make sure to get a physical description as detailed as possible as well as any notable abilities. List whatever places it frequents. Your job is simple enough. Once you’re done, contact an operative to tell them your finds.
Your should never, ever, dawdle or freeze in the presence of supernatural. There’s no such thing as stopping to sniff the flowers. Just do your job.
With your job comes risks - some Supernatural aren’t docile as others. You do have weapons, but each Supernatural has its strengths and weaknesses. Some weapons are effective, some aren’t. That vial I mentioned earlier is generally your best defense. Wear it at all times.
This hunt will be as simple as any other…right?
- In the event of a fight as usual, no autohitting, but please do not dodge everything either. Common sense.
- Let me know if you’ll be inactive, and I’ll do the same.
- I allow swearing, as usual. And blood and violence. But there is a time and place for everything, so keep that in mind.
- No one liners!
- Please try to use proper grammar.
- I ask that your reply at least be at least two lines long.
- Try to be okay with mature stuff!
- All basic RP rules apply.
- List may or may not change. Dunno.
- Please don’t let this die within a week
No template for this RP. I only ask for a description of your character with whatever information you find relevant to show up front.
I would like to specify I’d prefer to be the Supernatural in this. I’d also like to put a note here; for romance, this’ll be straight since that’s just how I’ve planned my character.. With me being the male, given that’s also what my character is.
If you have any questions ask.
I will also be asking for a writing sample. Ask before you join.
