Gray’s POV:
I smiled gratefully, reaching out to twirl a strand of her hair around my finger.
“Your phone buzzed,” I said to her with a chuckle.
I paused, slipping my phone out of my pocket. After a few moments, I tilted the screen to show Gray.
Gray’s POV:
I furrowed my eyebrows as I read the text.
“Oh, do you want to go?” I questioned her curiously. To be honest, I was a little touched that Eden wanted to volunteer at an orphanage. I remember staying there for a few months until the court decided who I’d be staying with. Still, I wanted to know what Violeta thought about it. “We can always postpone our trip to tomorrow.”
I thought about it for a moment, then shrugged.
"Yeah, sure, if you're up for it," I replied, glancing back down at the message. "Do you want to do it?"
Gray’s POV:
I shrugged.
“I think it would be a nice opportunity,” I replied quietly. “I don’t really want to say no. I’ve been in those kids’ position before.”
I squeezed his hand and raised it to my lips.
"I'm definitely open to the idea," I assured him. "Come, let's go."
Gray’s POV:
“Did she say to bring anything else?” I raised an eyebrow, squeezing the hand that held mine. “Ask her if there’s anything we can get.”
"Alright." I nodded, tapping the dimmed screen of my phone.
VIOLETA: We're on our way, what's the address? And is there anything you need us to bring?
Eden’s POV:
I was just about to strip off of my clothes when my phone pinged.
EDEN: If it’s no trouble, could you get some food? Desserts and sandwiches would be enough. I’ll pay you back, of course. The address is XXX XXX XXX XXX.
VIOLETA: Sounds good, and you don't have to pay me anything. See you there!
Eden’s POV:
Setting my phone aside, I stepped into the shower and spent the next ten minutes in silence.
Gray’s POV:
“Oh, we can go get them from Amanda’s,” I suggested, reading the text from her shoulder. “As you already know, her baking is love. And we can get sandwiches from another place.”
"Sounds good," I agreed, slipping my phone back into my pocket as we made our way over to the Crocodile's Cave.
(Skip? 🤷♀️)
(sure!
not it)
(NOT IT)
(Wait… Dang it… To when?)
(To when they get ready to go to the orphanage? I’m planning on making Eden jealous of a little girl. 🤣)
(What… Lol. That’ll be hilarious.
Sounds good. Give me a moment.)
(All right. XD)
Sterling’s POV:
I walked into the apartment around quarter-after five, bags strung over his arms and a smile on his face. “Eden? Babe? I’m home!” I called, setting the bags down near the door.
Eden’s POV:
I’d finished getting dressed for the visit, and as always, I finished my look with one of Sterling’s jackets (Eden is such a thief xD).
“Welcome home,” I poked my head through the room, walking over to him. “Are you tired? Let me give you a massage for a while.”
Sterling’s POV:
I laughed and met her in the middle of the room, scooping her into my arms. A quick wink and a grin later, my lips were attached to hers once again.
“If you do that, we might be late,” I murmured against her.
Eden’s POV:
I laughed as he scooped me up into his arms, snuggling into his chest before he pressed our lips together.
“You’re right,” I murmured. “We’ll meet V and Gray over there.”
Sterling’s POV:
“Mmhm… Anyway, are you ready?” I asked, finally pulling away and glancing over her. A light laugh made its way past my lips as I noticed what she was wearing. “Is that my jacket?”
