Eden chewed on her bottom lip as her eyes skimmed the menu. Or at least, tried to. She could hardly make out the words. Pretending nothing was wrong, Eden set the menu down and sighed, closing her eyes.

"I don't know what to get," she lied, resting her head on Sterling's shoulder. "What are you guys getting?"

"They have an Indian cuisine section here," Gray answered, a slight twinkle in his eyes. "I love Indian cuisine. I'm thinking of getting Tandoori chicken, their garlic naan, and butter chicken."

Violeta have a helpless shrug, slightly at a loss from the wide variety of food choices in front of her. “I’ll… just get the same as Gray, as long as it’s not too spicy.”

Gray shot her a smirk.

"Indians like their food spicy," he told her. "So we can tell them to tone down the spices."

“You know what to do if my mouth is set on fire….” I muttered under my breath. A blush rose to my cheeks, one which I promptly ignored and reached for my menu again.

Gray paused, clearly hearing what his girlfriend had said. He shot her an amused look.

"Yes. Yes, I do," he winked at her. "I'll most definitely use it, but it might fire up a little more after I'm done."

After that, Violeta’s face was roughly the same hue as a tomato. “J-Just order our food, Gray,” she stammered, staring down at the table.

Gray chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.

"Sterling still needs to choose, don't you, Sterling?"

(Throwing me under the bus… smh)

Sterling hummed and nodded in response. “I think I’ll get the coconut chicken curry,” he finally decided. “It’s pretry spicy, though. Do you want something more mild, E?”

Eden chewed on her bottom lip.

“I can deal with spicy, but mild would be better,” she replied slowly. “Do they have roasted ribs with um barbecue sauce?”

(Well, not entirely. I mentioned they have that in their menu, too.)

"Mmhm. Is that what you're going to get, then?" Sterling wondered, resting his chin on her shoulder.

Eden nodded with a thoughtful look.

“Yup. It sounds good,” she answered, pushing the menu away from her.

Sterling smiled and kissed her cheek, wrapping his arm around her waist and tugging her closer. "All right, then. I guess we're ready to order."

A waitress came over to take their order, sporting shockingly blue hair in a fishtail braid. “Can I take your order?”

Violeta leaned against Gray, a silent indication that he should speak.

Gray smiled at the waitress politely, taking up the signal.

"We'd like a plate of tandoori chicken, garlic naan, butter chicken, roasted ribs, and coconut curry chicken," he said to the waitress before looking at everyone else. "Do you want any drinks?"

"A coke," Eden replied, resting her eyes, head still on Sterling's shoulder.

“I’ll just have a water, thanks,” Sterling answered with a smile before turning to kiss the top of Eden’s head.

Suddenly realizing that it was her turn, Violeta sat up a little straighter. "A Club Soda, please," she ordered hastily, eyes flickering over to Gray. The waitress nodded and snapped her notepad shut. "Is that all?"
