Moxiey smiled. "I guess you could say that…" she remarked on his first comment, then spoke up again. "Asher's a nice name."
Moxiey smiled. "I guess you could say that…" she remarked on his first comment, then spoke up again. "Asher's a nice name."
"Aww, I still don't get to know the name of Miss Beautiful? I'm a bit disappointed," he teased lightly. A gust of sudden wind blew strands of hair into his face, causing him to grunt unintentionally and move to run his hand through his hair, keeping it out of his face.
She giggled as her copper locks danced in the wind as well. "Feels nice, doesn't it?"
"A bit," his smile turned into a smirk. "Well, this may be a bit forward, but could I at least be granted with your phone number?" It had been a while since Asher met someone who spoke to his soul just as much as she did, so he was reluctant to leave without something to remember her by.
"Uh…" she hesitated slightly, biting her lip. "I don't have a phone. I'm sorry."
"Oh… that's a bit of a shame. Hmm… what if I give you my phone numer? That way when you do get a phone, you can call me?" Asher left the last bit as a question, unsure if the girl actually wants to be around him anymore or not. He rubbed the back of his neck in nervousness, waiting for an answer.
"I don't think that would work…" she whispered, wincing a little. He looked nice, and she really didn't want to hurt him. She certainly hadn't expected him to be interested in her. Slowly, she took a deep breath. "I have a secret. And you have to promise not to tell anyone, okay?" Her tail was still concealed by the rocks.
"Um, okay… I promise," Asher couldn't help some small amount of worry seep into his voice. What kind of secret could this girl have?! His curious eyes looked her over, a slight frown appearing and raising one eyebrow in questioning as he thought.
She pressed her lips together and pushed off of the rocks to allow him to see her glimmering tail.
Asher seemed to zone out, his eyes growing wide as he couldn't help but stare at her shimmering tail. "That's not a costume… isn't it?" He asked, almost breathless as he tried to wrap his mind around the fact that for the past several minutes he had been flirting and socializing with a mermaid.
"No," she replied quietly. "I just really like humans, and you're the most interesting I've met by far."
He couldn't help but stutter in his answer, "T-thanks… um, I…" He trailed off, his mind flooding with so many questions he could ask her, ones he probably should ask her but didn't have the mouth-to-mind connection fully fixed quite yet. "I, um, well, I–sorry. I just have a lot of questions?"
"I kinda figured you would…" she said softly. "I do to, but you can go first if you want to."
"H-how did you learn about humans? Why are you so interested in us when you are just as interesting? Do you really lure sailors to their deaths or is that a myth?" Asher stumbled out, unsure of himself.
She laughed softly. "I love coming to the surface, and eventually ran into humans. Kind of inevitable really. You humans are incredibly amazing! You can swim! and walk! and run!" She sighed dreamily. "And I believe you're thinking of sirens."
