“In the days of ‘Before,’ machines were seen as gods. And indeed, they were. The humans of ‘Before’ worshipped them, as the machines could do just about anything they needed. So long as they obeyed the machines.

But something changed, and a devil rose out of the machines, an abnormality out of everything that had happened. The Machine Devil corrupted those, both machine and human to his will. But most humans stayed uncorrupted, fighting against time to defeat the Machine Devil. The humans tore away from their beliefs in the machines, but it was too far done.

Eventually, a seed was planted, and from it, came the Goddess, the one who would preserve the world we lived in today. She fought against the Machine Devil for many long months, until eventually, chained him deep underground, in an underwater prison. Where he may never leave.

With the Machine Devil gone, but their worshippers also gone, the machines roamed the lands, never quite forgetting nor forgiving the humans. This is why machines should be avoided at all costs, for they hold bitter opinions of mankind, and they never hesitate to act on those opinions, either. This is also why the ruins of Before shall be avoided, for we not know exactly what remains there, but we do have a feeling - only the remnants of the Machine Devil’s reign. The ruins are extremely dangerous.

But all of that is only a story, passed over centuries and generations of family. And it varies, from tribe to tribe, from person to person. The story is constantly changing. No one knows what happened in the Purging, the events 3 centuries prior to this day.

No one knows why we are still around, surviving. Not many machines are still active - most are dormant, half buried or completely in the ground. Deactivated. No one knows why the machines are like this.

You suppose there’s a lot of things we don’t know.

There’s a variety of people out there. Some prefer a more peaceful life within a village. Others go out and explore the world. But some explore the forbidden ruins. Usually, you don’t find much to collect, and most of it is stuff no one could understand, unless you were alive 3 centuries ago. Which you weren’t. No one is.

Presenting; a new RP of mine; Machine God. In which a human explorer wanders into some ruins, not expecting too many new things, and ends up disturbing something out of its hibernation… I’ll explain more after the rules.

  1. In the event of a fight as usual, no autohitting, but please do not dodge everything either. Common sense.
  2. Let me know if you’ll be inactive, and I’ll do the same.
  3. I allow swearing, as usual. And blood and violence.
  4. No one liners!
  5. Please try to use proper grammar.
  6. I ask that your reply at least be at least two lines long.
  7. Try to be okay with mature stuff!
  8. All basic RP rules apply.
  9. List may or may not change. Dunno.
  10. Please don’t let this die within a week
  11. I’d like semi-lit RPers dipping into literate as well. Please.
  12. I’d also like for whoever joins this to be committed. Preferring this to be long term, do not be afraid to BUMP the rp.

So, with that being said, an explanation:

You, the person joining this RP, are the human. Your character explores ruins of ‘Before’ for a living (in a world where humans have kind of..reverted back to old old old days? They use bows and arrows and spears..but they do know what guns are. I’m sure if you tried to tell them what a plane was though they wouldn’t understand.) and collects artifacts within them to sell to merchants, or whatever.

You decide to go to a particularly big ruin, that no one has really gone into for whatever reason. It’s pretty cold in there, given the fact the setting of this RP is in more of a Northern setting (but not Antarctic).
Eventually your character somehow ends up in a room (the control room, though it looks like just a weird room with a much of devices that no longer work in them), tampers with some stuff, and boom, in comes my character..who happens to be an AI from 3 centuries prior, but they’ve been ‘asleep’ for all of those years, meaning they’ve no clue what has happened.

And that’s it, that’s kind of a prompt/explanation I had in mind. Here’s the template, PLEASE CLARIFY TO ME THAT YOU’RE JOINING BEFORE YOU FILL IT OUT and delete the brackets

Just for an example, people of this world wear clothing that others or yourself can easily make into wearable stuff. Think wool, leather, furs, fabrics, etc.)

@PrettyLittlePyro

Name: Tarantella "Taran" Hunt
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance: Taran looks like she doesn't belong on earth. She has long silver hair, dyed of course, but it was originally black. Her skin is very pale, almost white, and at times makes her look like she's a vampire. She has high cheekbones, plump lips, and a straight nose. She is beautiful, but gives off a stay away aura. She has deep gray eyes, which, framed by her long black eyelashes, looks more silver than gray. She wears as little makeup as possible, because, with her sensitive skin, it causes her, more often than not, to break out in a rash. She is curvy and slender, and about 5'6''. She has a tattoo of a howling wolf on her collarbone, and a tattoo of a serpent weaving around her back and abdomen, all the way to her shoulder, where its head comes out on her left shoulder. She keeps her nails long. She doesn't take care of her hair, and so it usually sticks up in all directions unless she tames it into a ponytail. Both her ears are pierced, two on each side. She doesn't really try very hard with her dressing, and it shows. She looks like she's in constant disorder and disarray, and can look more like a hurricane than anything else.
Clothing: She doesn't wear fancy clothes if she can help it, but she will change her clothes ever so slightly when she's going out. She always has gloves over her hands, to protect them from getting cut while she's out tinkering and scavenging.
Skills: Tinkering, scavenging, running, climbing, building, using her mind
Personality: Taran is like the weather. She can change in the blink of an eye. She can't control her emotions very well, and is rarely logical, unless she's talking to people who just need to grow up and stop being overly emotional, or stupid. She is kind of arrogant, and hates to talk to new people, or to make friends, and comes across as a very mean, arrogant glacier. But with her friends, she can be a goofball, cracking inappropriate jokes and playing games and being idiots with them. She is extremely loyal, and if someone hurts one of her friends, she gets pissed, and will literally blow apart the world. She has a sharp mind, perfect for pranks, and many people have been at the butt-end of her jokes or pranks. She has a huge playful streak as wide as the ocean, and everyone who knows her well enough is wary of it. She loves to argue, and has fun in debates, and tends to be pretty good in them. She knows exactly what to say to people to make them feel better, or tear them down, and she is a master at bullshitting her way out of things. She is incredibly lazy, and rarely does her job, until the last minute. She is a terrible procrastinator, and knows it, but doesn't really care anymore.
Opinion on the Machines: They could be useful, if anyone could find any.
Other: N/A
