A city, forged on the sacrifices made oh-so-long-ago. Made from their blood, and yet, never remembered. History was written by the winners, was it not? It would seem that way.
No one knows - well, someone does know of course, but not you, nor anyone you know - what happened. To make the world like this.
What is like this, you may ask? Well, have a look. It’s the city you’ve always lived in. A city of pollution, with air so thick with smog that even a citizen going out for a run to the store requires a facial mask of some sort. A city with strict rules to follow. A city with people - rather, no longer humans walking the streets, armed with weapons you could only dream of having.
The rules my friend, are strict, and they speak of them only existing to protect you.
- All citizens shall not exit their apartments after 8 PM, and shall not leave until 9 AM the following morning.
- All citizens will have a job.
- No citizen will possess a weapon.
- All citizens will follow the orders of the Enforcement.
- No conspiracies against the Government shall be made.
Who are the Enforcers, you may also ask? If you remember those people I mentioned before - the ones who walk the streets, ghosts of their former selves. They were once human, but no longer will they be. Stripped of their thoughts and will, they only work for the City now. No Enforcer returns to their normal life after that.
And you would think, well, what do the citizens do against this?
Nothing. At least, not on the surface, anyway. To stand up to them, to speak out of line, would be equivalent to suicide. They’d show up at your doors later, take you away, and you’d never see the light of day again. Or, they’d do the same, but to your loved ones.
In the shadows, a rebellion brews against them. The Enforcers and Government are fully aware of the rebellion. But not their members, nor their plans. Eventually, the rebellion hopes for a free world, to topple the giants that rule the city. Where they may speak freely. Liberty.
But none of that is easy to achieve, with the Enforcers committing raids against suspected rebellion bases. The sewers, apartments, abandoned buildings, where’ve they may be, the Enforcers are always hunting.
The Enforcers, back to them. People without identity. Only identified by their uniforms and masks of which they wear. Faces, do they have them? Maybe not. Enforcers are almost like robots. They’re seen as expendable. To prioritize the mission. No Enforcer has ever returned from the status of being ‘Processed’, the term used to define the state at which you go from being just a normal human to one of the pawns of the government.
Their past removed from them, Enforcers are not a who. They are a what.
But what if an Enforcer was..different? Maybe there was a different Enforcer, but they never got their word out, because they were terminated too quickly. What if an Enforcer remembered?
But no, that would be silly. There’s just no way that could happen. Is there?
So here’s a new RP, Locked Away. In which you, the lovely person joining will be a citizen - a member of the rebellion conspiring against the city. The city is not known for towering buildings, instead many buildings look old, made of brick. The city is patrolled by the deadly Enforcers and watched by cameras at almost every corner, which the exception being the sewers and some older buildings. Enforcers only go down there if suspicious activity is reported.
The city is sealed off, no one may leave, but people may enter. Surrounding the city are the impenetrable shields - the walls, towering walls. Outside the city at night citizens often go to sleep to the thunderous roars and shots - arguably, the city inside is safer, due to the fact that deadly beasts roam the world outside.
Whoever you may become, as a rebel - are you more aggressive in your approach, or are you calmer, or neither? - you eventually come into contact with Enforcers, either way. But what if one was different?
Onto the rules.
- In the event of a fight as usual, no autohitting, but please do not dodge everything either. Common sense.
- Let me know if you’ll be inactive, and I’ll do the same.
- I allow swearing, as usual. And blood and violence. But there is a time and place for everything, so keep that in mind.
- No one liners!
- Please try to use proper grammar.
- I ask that your reply at least be at least two lines long.
- Try to be okay with mature stuff!
- All basic RP rules apply.
- List may or may not change. Dunno.
- Please don’t let this die within a week
- I’d like semi-lit RPers dipping into literate as well. Please.
And the template…remove the brackets, and let me know you’ll be joining.
