Anyways I have a plot.
Madame Quill is the resident ringmistress and fortune teller at Carnival, a traveling circus that can fit in the locket around her neck. Some say Quill is a demon, or Satan's wife, or Satan herself, always with the Christian allegories. But Quill herself? She always laughs when you ask her what she is, and then she takes you into her private tent and offers you your heart's desire, something you can't refuse. And then you become part of the act, part of the show. You become a member of Carnival, always going on tour and magically bound to the circus, unable to leave. Usually, she ropes in children and lets them grow into adults, to a point (as in they stop aging when she wants them to), but sometimes she snags an adult and trains them just like her children, refusing to let them age unless she says so.
Your characters are members of this circus. The older ones, those who have been part of the act since the 1800s, are generally treated with more respect, or at least have broken down enough that Madame Quill doesn't think they need any more harsh training. The more recent ones (circa the 80's or 90's to now) are still being trained in the act, as Quill says, but they still don't get treated badly and the older members are quite kind at any rate. Your characters can be from any era past the 19th century, and can have any sort of desire that led them here, but don't make it something stupid like "infinite candy" idk. I'll post a template below.
