Bryn took a couple seconds to stumble out, tripping at the last second and yelping as he hurtled towards the ground.
Bryn took a couple seconds to stumble out, tripping at the last second and yelping as he hurtled towards the ground.
Sebastian's arm shot out, catching him at the last moment.
"Be more careful," he said. He winced slightly. That wasn't what he wanted to be saying at all, but the driver was still there.
Bryn squeaked when he felt his body hit an arm instead of the ground, biting his lips when Sebastian showed concern for him and quickly turning his eyes to the ground so they wouldn't arouse any more suspicion. "Y-yes sir! Sorry."
Sebastian righted Bryn, then shoved his hands in his pockets. He looked extremely bored as he started watching up to the house, trying to cover for his blunder.
"Can't have you damaging yourself," he added, making sure the still close driver could hear him.
Bryn swallowed nervously, eyes flickering up to the driver and down again as if he were actually being chided by his master. "Of course, master. I… I'm sorry for my clumsiness."
Sebastian didn't respond, continuing watching inside. He was pretty sure if he tried to say anything else he'd end up apologising, and that would be catastrophic. Instead, he kept his eyes forward and an indifferent look on his face.
Bryn bit his lip like he was ashamed, following Sebastian inside with his head bowed and shoulders curled in. The posture melted away once they were safely inside, of course, but he didn't really seem at ease until they were ensconced in Sebastian's bedroom away from prying eyes.
Once they were safely inside Sebastian's room, Sebastian turned to Bryn. They had time to talk, but only just enough.
"I screwed up, didn't I?"
"No!" Sebastian shook his head, pawing weakly at the collar with no success. It seemed light in person, but the thing was nearly impossible to get off. "No, no, you're fine. We covered it."
Sebastian reached out, quickly unclipping the collar. He put it on the desk, turning back to Bryn.
"I know. But what if I do something we can't cover..?"
Bryn let out the breath he didn't know he was holding once the collar was finally gone, wandering over to Sebastian and slumping up against his chest. "There's nothing too nice to cover. And…" he bit his lip, "if you ever do something that out of the ordinary, you can just say you're trying to gain my trust. So you can… break me in."
Sebastian instinctively wrapped his arms around Bryn.
"… I'll do my best so we never have to do that." Somewhere deep inside of his brain, Sebastian was reminded that someday he would have to hurt Bryn in front of others, and he wasn't sure if he could do that…
Bryn let out a soft sigh of relief when Sebastian's arms were around him, finally seeming to relax. "I'm giving you permission. If you need to be… mean. Or cruel. Or horrible to me. That's… alright."
"No, it's not. But… I will if we have to." He kissed Bryn's head lightly.
Bryn bit his lip and leaned into the kiss, shifting his weight from foot to foot nervously at just the thought. "I hope you never have to."
"Me too," Sebastian said softly, holding Bryn close. Still… soon, Sebastian would have to go to kickboxing, and he really didn't think it would be safe for Bryn to come.
Bryn hummed and pushed him down onto the bed gently, curling up against his chest and tucking his face into Sebastian's neck. "Can we just stay like this for the rest of the day?"
"…Not yet," Sebastian said quietly. "But soon, I promise." He sighed, running his fingers through Bryn's hair lightly.
Bryn sighed, snuggling closer. "Why not? We did everything we were supposed to, right?"
"I still have kick boxing, remember?" He didn't want to stop cuddling with Bryn, but he had to leave soon.
"And I don't think you should come. It's not safe for you." Most of the people who trained there wouldn't hesitate from using Bryn like a punching bag.
Bryn whimpered at even the mention of kickboxing, already knowing that he'd have to stay home and wait it out. "I… um… I'll stay here then." His tone was agreeable enough, but he didn't seem happy about it.
Sebastian wrapped both of his arms slightly tighter around Bryn. He didn't like leaving him alone for so long; he didn't know what would happen.
"I'd rather stay here with you," he said, "but Doc would give me an earful if I skipped…" He sighed.
"Doc?" Bryn asked quietly, shivering as he remembered their disastrous trip to the doctor's office. Or… tried to remember. It was all a bit of a blur, too tainted with fear and then with pain for him to recall anything at all about the visit. "You're close with the doctor?"
Sebastian hesitated for a moment, then have a small nod. He wasn't about to lie to Bryn, but he could tell Bryn didn't like Doc.
"Yeah," he said just as quietly.
Bryn's lips pressed into a thin little line. "Well, I hope you make her happy then." His voice was cold, almost standoffish, and he rolled over so his back was facing Sebastian.
