"I-uh, okay." Kendra sucked in and bit her bottom lip. "Anything I can do to help?" she pulled at the the bottom of the oversized crewneck she was wearing.

"No, not really. Look, dinner will be ready soon. I'll get it done, set it out and then attend to my burn. Don't worry about me. I'm fine." She sighed and went back to cooking.
"I don't want you to hurt yourself again." She stood up straighter, though she knew it had absolutely zero effect.
"I'm not going to," Thorn said, moving the food around and tasting it. "I'm fine. It was just a hand spasm, nothing bad. Go back to doing what you were doing."
“I-okay” Kendra looked down at the floor and went back to the couch. she looked down and realized that not only was she still pulling on her shirt, she was shaking. she calmed herself and signed, picked her phone back up, and opened pinterest once again.
Thorn sighed, taking a deep breath. She was tired and stressed, and something was off between her and Kendra. She didn't know what it was or even what cause it, but something was off.
She didn’t really want to be sitting there, but Thorn had sent her away and she felt it was best if she listened. she didn’t want to upset anyone, so she tucked her legs under herself and pulled a blanket over her.
Thorn finished cooking and poured the food into two bowls. She then set the bowls out on the table and sat behind one. "Kendra. Dinner is ready. Japanese stirfry."
Kendra pushed the blanket off of herself, and stood up slowly. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a can of soda from the fridge.
"Ah, forgot cutlery," Thorn said, getting up to walk back into the kitchen. She grabbed chopsticks for herself and a fork for Kendra: she couldn't remember if Kendra used chopsticks but she could easily use a fork anyway. Thorn grabbed a drink out of the fridge once Kendra was done.
Kendra walked to the table and opened the can, then set it down. she sat down and picked up the fork, she wasn't about to make a fool of herself by pretending like she could use chopsticks. Kendra started in on her food, but took small bites, as it was still a little hot.
Thorn savoured every bite. It was a popular dish at the restaurant she worked at: everyone wanted her stirfry. But it wasn't often that she actually had the chance to eat it herself. And it was obvious why it was so popular.

Kendra ate it slowly, as she always did being her slow eating self. It wasnt her favorite meal, but it was food and she wasn't picky, so she ate it without complaint.
Silence. What would normally be filled with a conversation was not. While Thorn and Kendra would sit eating and talking about their day, things were different. They weren't talking, not even an inkling.
(Oh my lord i am so so sorry for going ghost. i got so wrapped up in my classes and after school activities i didn't even realize i hadn't been on in so long.)
Kendra sat uncomfortably in her chair. The silence poked and prodded her, and of course she wanted to talk, but she just… couldn't.
