(It's ok, we can always take a timeout and brainstorm if we want something exciting to happen, or if we want to do time skips or whatever. I tend to be a slow-paced, detail-oriented rp writer so if that's not your style feel free to let me know! And please don't assume you can't add your own plot twists and stuff if you think of something—this is your rp after all lol. On that note, I have a couple ideas for adventures during Fiel's and Lukas's trip, so things hopefully won't be boring there. Honestly, all I'm asking is either a tiny bit more engagement, or a bit more oorp communication if you're not sure what to do. ^^ Fair enough?)
(Alright, honestly as I said in the very beginning, I have no plot ideas…anything so far from me had just been spontaneous)
(In that case, do we want to stop and make a little plan for some kind of plot so we have something to shoot for? Or are we ok with just sort of winging it and seeing what happens?)
(Uh whatever works for you, though having some plot would be nice)
(Well so here's what I got so far: some kind of random enemy tries to attack them out at sea, they maybe run into a storm, and then Fiel's brother is going to deliver some big news when they meet half-way. The news will carry over when they reach Tarilon, and there will be a mystery to solve there about Fiel's mother. But on a grander scale, I feel like one thing that always works well in these scenarios is a war of some kind? I'm just shooting out ideas here, but what if Fiel and Lukas truly fall in love during this trip, and maybe…..Lukas's parents don't take it very well? What if they declare war on Tarilon, claiming their son is kidnapped or something? How does that sound?)
(Yes…..I mean that sounds great, I should really work on coming up with plots in general, and his parents would definitely do that)
(All right! See now this sounds exciting xD Are we ready to get back into the rp then?)
(Well you can respond but I have to go. =_= phone curfew thing)
(Aw ok, see you later!!)
"Well, I am awake now, so I think so?" Lukas mumbled. Wanting to go back to sleep.
"If you get too cold, let me know." So saying, Fiel fell silent and let him sleep. The heat and downy feathers from his own wings should provide enough warmth for them both unless the temperature really dropped. He was glad the rough winds weren't bothering Lukas. Personally, Fiel felt invigorated by the salty air, and was reminded strongly of home. He suddenly couldn't wait to get back to Tarilon.
Swooping slightly down and up again to gain speed, he found a suitable air current and set off eastward, leaving the coastline far behind.
Lukas nodded, "how much longer?" he asked curiously, having no idea how long he had been asleep.
Fiel laughed. "Two days," he said. "Minus an hour or so. I hope you're good at holding still for a long time. Oh, by the way, let me know if you start feeling light-headed. The air up here is thin and the pressure seems extra low today so it's harder to breathe."
Lukas nodded, "That's a long time, is that the whole trip, or just till we stop?" He asked quietly, he wanted to stretch a bit, but knew that the whole 'not moving' thing would kinda make that not happen.
"That's the whole trip. At this time tomorrow, we'll meet up with my oldest brother Branimir and my younger sister Phaela. Branimir will carry you for a while to give my wings a rest, and Phaela will mostly be there as backup in case we need it. Honestly, I'm sure she volunteered to tag along because she loves to travel and will no doubt be very curious about you. I think you'll like them both."
Lukas smiled, "i am really excited to meet your siblings", having not been able to grow up with his own for long, he was curious on how they interacted with each other. "What do you normally do to pass the time, I would get bored if I was traveling alone?"
Fiel thought about it. "Well….on the way here I did a lot of thinking, about what your kingdom might be like and how I felt about my own kingdom opening its borders after al this time. But other than that….did you know, Lukas, that we Tarilonans can see the magic and living energy of the world, if we choose to look for it? It's….on a different plane of existence, we believe, overlapping our own. You can learn a lot by studying it, and on top of that….it's quite beautiful. I spent most of my flight watching it, and I admit I never felt bored or lonely. It's as if the magical energy was keeping me company."
"wow" lukas said quietly, "i wish I could see the magical energy, it must be really pretty, like better than watching the sunset from the tower." he said more to himself.
"It's …..enthralling," Fiel agreed, then tilted his head as a thought struck him. "I wonder…..I've never tried this, but there may be a way for me to share my aura vision with you, so you can see what I see. It might be a little disorienting at first, but I'd love to show you if I could. Want to try?"
“Yes, that sounds amazing” Lukas said eagerly, he had no idea If it would work or not, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.
"All right, well, first I need your hand." Fiel took one hand from his pocket and pushed against the air currents until he was reaching over his shoulder. "Take my hand and close your eyes."
Lukas took Fiels hand and closed his eyes, “ok, eyes are closed” he said, waiting for Fiel to do whatever it was he was about to do.
Fiel closed his own eyes as well, after making sure it was safe to do so, and focused on activating his magical senses. Lukas's aura was first to appear, close and bright, and Fiel hoped that proximity would work to his advantage. Carefully, he tried to form a connection between their two auras, the way he would when using telepathy with his siblings. It was trickier because Lukas couldn't return the connection since he didn't have magic, but after a few moments Fiel thought he had a decent psychic bridge connecting them. "Okay," he said without opening his eyes. "If that worked, you should be seeing small bursts or ripples of colored light in your mind right now. They would still be very faint, I think. Once you see them, tell me, and I'll share with you what I can see."
Lukas stayed still, until he saw the faint bursts of colors, “I see colors” he said then laughed slightly at how stupid that sounded.
Fiel grinned, actually a bit surprised that this was working. "Good! All right, here we go." Making sure the link was strong, he opened his eyes and sent the picture of what he saw straight to Lukas.
The air around them was shimmering like the rainbows on a soap bubble. Pools and strands of light were drifting all around them, pulled and shaped by invisible currents. In the sky, the light followed the wind and clouds. In the sea below them, it swirled and bubbled along with the waves. Most of the light was clear and only reflected the colors around it, but a few specks and strands were bright as jewels, glowing gold or green or shades of violet.
"This is how magic begins," Fiel said. "It's born from the earth and sky, and over time it attaches itself to living things. Some of us are aware of it and can shape it in our own ways, but for most of us, it's just a part of our natural energy." He pointed downward. "Look."
A pod of dolphins had appeared, breaking through the water in joyful leaps. Around each one was a tangled haze of gold and white light that seemed to come from inside them.
"Animals have very simple auras," Fiel explained. "They tend to reflect their health and their relationship with their surroundings. Can you see them?"
