Kamchatka: the easternmost, volcano-ridden peninsula of Russia. The pinnacle of Siberia, home to the clutch of the wilderness.
Your older brother moved here years ago after the early death of his wife. You move in shortly after to find out what life has to offer.
Turns out, it offers saving a town and yourself.
Ooo, this sounds interesting, could I join?
I would be honored!
Do you have any questions before we start character making? ๐ธ
I just want to make sure your idea I am viewing your idea correctly, our two characters are saving the town from a natural disaster or something? Is it a mythical creature? An angry spirit? And uhm, who would be whom?
They are saving the town from a kind of conservative "gang" obsessed with keeping the small town free of foreigners and without contact with the "technological" world. Extremists, basically.
If you don't mind, I'd be the older brother (Peter) and you'd be his younger sibling, whom you can customize yourself ๐
Okay, that'd be pretty cool, it sounds like a lot of fun!
Would you like a character bio sheet? ๐ธ
Yeah sure, that'd be great.
Alrighty!

Okedoke. Sleep well, cya!
Oki, I'm back, let me get my charrie up
Name: Joshua Alexander Chastain
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: He could be considered to be a bit on the tall side hitting around 6 foot nothing. In contradiction to his sweet demeanor he normally looks pretty angry, or the you know look. He has a mop of curly brown hair, which in his opinion is one of the worst things in the world, since he can't brush it out or anything, so it just normally looks like he has messy hair. His skin is covered in freckles since he spends most of his time outdoors. Which explains why he always keeps at least two compasses on him, along with a backpack full of bare essentials for surviving in the wilderness.
General personality: He is a marshmallow of a person, and is a major sweetheart. He isn't the brightest person in the world, but he makes up for that with his sweetness. Before his older moved away they used to be extremely close, especially since they were the best of friends, and since Peter sort of was his low key protector. But know he feels as though he is the one who sort of needs to comfort his older brother and be there for him. Which sort of just shows more of his sweet character?
Origin/rough backstory: Well, he had a pretty decent childhood. Great parents great older brother, and he loved life, until he got to high school, at that point he was still trying to figure himself out, and he realized that he was bisexual, which brought on a lot of bullying and hatred his way, but he really never cared, he just wanted to love whoever he wanted to, and his family supported him for it. His older brother eventually left the town with his wife and Joshua wished him well, but after a while he got worried about him and decided to find out if his brother was alright.
Aww!! Adorable ๐)
Name: Peter Chastain
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance: Definitely their mother's appearance, with the black hair and lack of freckles. However, he shares the same curly hair and height, standing at 6'1". Straight nose.
Personality: very protective and quiet. Tends to just do things without letting anyone else know, prefers being alone but won't turn down company. Getting over grief.
Backstory: roughly the same as his brothers in terms of household. Lost wife to ovarian cancer before they could have a child, has been lonely ever since.
Oh, he seems so sweet! Should I start? Or do you want to?
I can get us started if you like!
Oh that'd be great, thank you!
It was drizzling.
For Siberia, its fantastically brief summer was a hot one.
A small pond hopper airplane had delivered Josh from the airport directly to Kamchatka, and dropped him off at the town hall, something resembling an old home with a sign of illegible Russian. Peter was on his way to pick him up. Phone service was, understandably, a little sparse in this stretch of wilderness, so they couldn't exactly call.
Somewhere above, a sea-eagle mozied through the light rainstorm.
Joshua grabbed his backpack from the seat next to him and straightened his jacket. He was finally here, finally able to see his brother again. It had been a while, and eventually, they had fallen out of touch, but he decided to take a leap of faith and move there too. Peter had finally responded to his text and they got back in touch, calling each other every so often and stuff of that nature. The plane began its descent and Josua began mentally prepare himself to see his brother again. Out of nervousness he grabbed at the necklace he normally wore that had the compass on it, 'Northeast.' he thought to himself as he began to calm down.
The landing was pretty roughโthere was no runway, so an old country road filled that need. Probably the only concrete road in a town of dirt roads. At least it wasn't winter.
"You have all the luggage?" His pilot asked in a very deep Russian accent once their ride had stopped.
Joshua nodded, all he needed was in his backpack, which in a way was nice, less unpacking and less packing in general. He was planning on getting some things here anyways. He mumbled a thank you to the pilot before sort of jumping out of the plane. It was pretty close to the ground so it wasn't that bad. He looked around for his older brother while trying to not get wet from the rain.
A pair of headlights flashed at him a few meters away. His older brother gave a small wave from behind the window, as the plane started up with a load roar to fly back to the western cities.
Joshua jumped as the plane took off and gave his older brother a shy wave back, as he walked towards the car. He wasn't sure if he should hug his older brother or just shake hands with him or something, it had been way too long. He opened the passenger door and set his stuff down before getting in the car, "PETER!!!!! MY GOSH I MISSED YOU!" He screeched at the top of his lungs as he hugged his brother tightly, "I am so glad I was able to come." He said in his more toned down voice.
Peter gladly returned the hug, despite being the kind of man that doesn't go out of his way for physical contact. "Been a while," he replied happily, starting his tired car. "Was the ride alright?"
Joshua smiled and leaned back against the seat, "It was alright, I didn't have too much room, but it was fine. I just can't wait to get to your place and sleep, I really need to, my whole head hurts, and at this point, if I fall asleep, please don't be mad at me." He said as his eyelids began to droop, "I just felt like the pilot kept on looking at me, and so I didn't feel comfortable enough to fall asleep.
"Heh," Peter pulled into the wet road. "You go ahead. We've got a good ten minute ride, a power nap would be good for you. Are you hungry?"
Joshua shook his head as he began to doze off, "I ate more than enough of my trail mix, and peanuts before I got on this plane." He yawned loudly before he really conked out, "I'll. . ." He was fast asleep, although he had so much to tell his brother, and just talk to him about, he was too exhausted to say anything. Well, he did move here, so he'd have time to talk to him about everything that had happened since he had been gone.
Peter let a little chuckle under his breath. Josh had a lot to learn about this place. He didn't blame him for resting while he had the chance.
When Josh was woken back up, the rain had eased.
"We're here." Peter commented, readjusting the hat on his head and leaving the car.
Joshua was still a bit groggy from just waking up, he adjusted the baseball cap he had been wearing, which on the ride to Peter's place slipped over his eyes. "Oh, okay, give me a minute." He stretched a bit in the car before getting out, it felt hot and muggy, but not anything that he wasn't used to. Grabbing his backpack off the car floor he locked the car and followed Peter in, "So is this your new place? I like it." He said while trying to stifle a yawn.
"Been." Peter answered. He'd always been a man of few words, not one to linger very long on a conversation if it didn't need it.
His house appeared built half-into the earth. Logically it was for insulation purposes, against the heat, but most importantly, against hellish winters. A small set of concrete steps led down to the front door.
Joshua nodded, "It seems nice and cozy," he said as he followed Peter into the house, "I guess I'll need to start looking for a place like this if I decide to stay." He set his backpack down near the front door and gawked around, "Woah, I didn't think that your place was this big, I mean wow."
