"Yes please." She said with a smile, trying to get up on her own and almost getting it before deciding it was easier just to get some help and not hurt herself.

@gracehustle

She nodded, taking his hand without hesitation and getting ready to try to get up again, "I'm ready whenever you're ready."

”Ok.” he nodded and started pulling her up. They would have to work together so neither of them would get hurt. He may have been fit but he was hesitant to call himself strong… At least very strong.

@gracehustle

Selina felt when he started pulling and she immediately scrambled up on her own, finally getting up after two tries. She did realize how close they were standing though, and her face flushed as she nodded in thanks, "Thank you for helping."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”No problem.” he smiled, despite how red his face was because of how close they were. The thought of kissing her popped into his head again but he quickly brushed it away. It was still too soon in their friendship. Clearing his throat a little, he took a step back and started picking up the wood they had gathered.

@gracehustle

"I hope that's enough, I can always get more though." She said, scooping some of the wood up as well and waiting for Frankie to get his armful before heading back over to the fire. The fire was still burning away normally, though it was eating through the sticks quite quickly.

”I think this will be enough for the night. You shouldn't need to go back down there until we leave in the morning.” he told her, straightening his pile in his arms before grabbing the flashlight. ”Besides, we don't need to keep the fire going all night.” he smiled as he started back to their little camp.

@gracehustle

Selina nodded and smiled, walking alongside him and dumping the wood in a pile a foot or two away from the fire. "Is there anything else we need?" She asked, knowing that otherwise, she would probably settle in for the night and watch the stars so she could fall asleep.

He shook his head as he set down his firewood before putting two pieces on the fire. ”No, I think we should be good for the night.” he told her. Honestly, there wasn't much more they needed to do, except sleep. He had a little bit of trail mix in his bag but they should save that for morning and he could cook something real good when they got back to his camp. ”Thanks for getting these.” he smiled at her, patting the ground next to him for her to sit down.

@gracehustle

"No problem," She said with a gentle smile, sitting down next to him and looking up at the night sky. Selina knew she should get some sleep, but she really wasn't tired, and also didn't want to confront the choice of shifting or staying human when she went to sleep. It would be much warmer to shift, but easier to just stay like she was and hope it didn't get very cold further at night.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie nodded and smiled at her. He obviously didn't have the benefit or option of shifting into anything. The best he could manage for the night would be to use his backpack as a pillow. There should be a rain poncho I could use as a blanket if it gets too cold. He thought as he looked at Selina. What could he do for her tonight? Did she need him to do anything? She was probably very used to sleeping outside like this. He opened his mouth to ask but floundered for the words.

@gracehustle

Selina didn't notice his loss for words as she asked, "Do you mind if I shifted? I don't need to use any of your blankets then." She glanced over at him and waited for his answer, knowing that he needed all the blankets he had with incase it got cold. Being a wolf also meant he could use her body heat to keep himself warm as well.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

He shook his head with a relieved smile as she answered his question with her own. ”If you're more comfortable that way, I don't mind.” he told her. ”Honestly, I didn't really bring any blankets up here. But I can make due for a night.” he smiled assuringly.

@gracehustle

She nodded, smiling and getting to her feet before nodding back towards the rock mess, "I'll be right back then." Selina trusted him to give her some privacy as she walked away and found a spot mostly hidden by shadows to shift. She did make sure she wasn't going to ruin the clothes though, slipping out of them and folding them nicely next to herself before changing into her wolf form. It was slightly awkward picking the clothes back up, but she held them gently between her teeth as she padded back over and sat down next to Frankie.

“Ok.” he replied, watching the fire closely as she left. He may be a guy but he wasn't going to peek at his friend while she shifted. He respected her too much for that… Though it didn't help him from wondering. Frankie quickly shook his head as if to physically derail that train of thought and placed another piece of wood on the fire. Since he considered himself a more responsible camper, he knew he would have to wait until the fire burned out before falling asleep. He smiled welcomingly as he saw Selina’s wolf form sit beside him again.

@gracehustle

"Here are these," She said, once again her voice sounding like a low growl if they weren't listening for words in it. Selina set the clothes by him and then turned to get comfortable, laying down in almost a half-moon shape, with her head closest to the fire and her body curled towards him. As she laid her head down on her front paws, she realized how tired she actually was from the day, even if it wasn't much more activity than she was used to.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Thank you.” he smiled at her as he took the clothes and set them near his backpack, in case she needed them or wanted them in the morning. Frankie stretched his arms over his head and fought back a yawn as he was suddenly feeling more tired than he thought he was. His fingers twitched a little as he looked at Selina, almost wanting to reach out and touch her soft silver fur but he held back. He didn't want to overstep their friendship.

@gracehustle

Her eyes flicked around as she rested and tried to get comfortable, the only other movement being her tail as it occasionally twitched or swished. "Feel free to move closer if you get cold, I'm basically a living portable heater with decently soft fur," She said in a gentle growl as she decided she would only fall asleep once Frankie was sleeping and protected.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Are you sure?” he asked a little surprised by the offer. He would admit that the idea did sound nice but… He didn't want to impose on her. ”I gotta stay up for a while longer to make sure the fire burns out safely first.” he pointed out.

@gracehustle

Selina let out a small breath and the corners of her mouth tugged up in an attempt at a smile, "I can watch it Frankie, you need to get some sleep, and yes, I'm sure." She turned her focus to the fire and blinked a few times to try to push away the sleep tugging at her eyelids. It would be difficult to stay awake but she could manage, she was used to late-night patrols and this wasn't much different.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Ok.” he agreed, a little shyly as he scooted a little closer so he could lay comfortably with her. Frankie had a bit of a blush on his face at the situation even though he hadn't even touched her yet. ”I can stay up with you longer.” he told her, almost feeling like a little kid who was trying to avoid bedtime. ”At least until the fire dies down.”

@gracehustle

Her eyes flicked to him and she stopped her tail from swishing back and forth as much so she didn't accidentally hit him with it. "Get some sleep, Frankie," She said, though it was accompanied by her attempt at a smile that made it easy to see that the choice to stay up was completely up to him. A soft breeze started up and made the night almost prettier, with the starry sky and glow from the fire.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

He rolled his eyes with a smile before carefully laying down against her. ”Alright.” he finally yawning. ”You weren't kidding, were you. You're really warm.” he commented, still fighting to keep his eyes open a bit longer. Very warm and very soft. he sighed softly.

@gracehustle

Selina made a noise similar to a laugh, swishing him with her tail gently and pulling her focus away from the fire for a second to look over at him, "I wasn't kidding at all, fur is really really warm." She rested her head back on her front paws and looked up at the sky, hearing the fire crackle and burn softly in its rock ring. Hopefully it would burn out soon since she once again felt the tug of sleep at her eyelids and even as she pushed the feeling away, she wasn't sure how long she could keep her eyes open.
