(Oh, don't worry about it! I too have my busy days.)
Marin sat down across from the doctor with an apologetic smile. "The coursework is great, actually. It's not heavy enough to the point that I'm drowning in essays, and it's an interesting class. Most of the time, it's not confusing, and when something is confusing, you do a good job at explaining it. Honestly, it's probably one of my favorite classes. It's just… ah, never mind." She stopped herself before she could bring up her problem. That would be rude, just because Professor Jekyll was the, well, Professor, that didn't necessarily mean he could instantaneously handle every chaotic student who came into the classroom.
(Jekyll: Yes hello is there anything I can do to make your experience in this class any more enjoyable?)
(Marin: Uhh other than the problem kid you're doing just fine)
"You can tell me anything, Marin. I won't tell a soul outside this classroom what you've said to me, alright?" he promised, and with his particular moral code, his promises were ironclad. At least… as himself. "Is it someone you know? I can talk to them if you want me to, or I can keep silent and back you up as you need me to for whatever problems you may face."
Marin sighed, "Kind of? Yeah? It's… well, it's another student. Edward Hyde? He's kind of… well, I guess disruptive is about as good a way as any to put it. I really don't want to be rude, but if could try and talk to him about it, it might be helpful? If there's anything you can even do about it."
Jekyll choked on his spit. Sure, he'd attended his own classes before, with a substitute arranged so that he could blend in with the crowd, but he'd never remembered much of what happened. He didn't even remember seeing Marin there, much less… being disruptive. "Ah, yes, him. He… well, Edward comes from a rougher background. I had to fight tooth and nail to get him here at all. I am sensitive to your concerns, don't get me wrong, but I… he's important to me. I will talk to him, but if he doesn't improve, well, I'd hate to see him be thrown out. Please, promise me you won't, er, discuss this with anyone else? I can handle him, I swear it." he said, smiling awkwardly.
(Jekyll: Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck what do I do?)
(Did I misread something in the first post, or is he just not remembering the chaos that Hyde made?)
(He doesn't remember. This may be relevant later in-plot.)
(Also I'm imagining that the "chaos" Hyde made was like, they were discussing Freud or someone else on that guy's level and he kept making inappropriate jokes and derailing the class lol.)
(Good morning!)
(Morning! I'm in algebra rn, probably won't be able to get a decent reply up for a few hours)
(Oh, don't worry about it dear, I'm going to be busy today with applying to colleges and such and that's a whole process so my replies may be slow too.)
(Yikes, good luck dude)
"Oh, I wasn't–I didn't mean 'hey, I want this guy expelled', did I sound like that? I'm sorry," Marin apologized. "And don't worry about it, I won't say anything." She really hadn't been out to cause problems, and she hoped that the Professor wouldn't think she was just trying to create drama.
Henry held out his hands in a gesture of friendliness. "No, no, you sounded nothing of the sort! I just, well, I have a very bad habit of jumping to conclusions with these sorts of things. Please don't feel like I don't care, I will do my best to put a stop to his outlandish behavior. You're right, Edward is a bit much and while I would hope to not have to remove him from my course, I will do what is necessary for you to feel safe and comfortable."
(Good of morning! How are you?)
(Ack, sorry! I completely forgot to respond to that. I'm good, just checking things before I head out. I'm in a hotel rn, we're out of town for hockey stuff.)
(Oh, neato! Take your time responding dude, I’m in no rush and I’ve got plenty of stuff I need to respond to as well so I do know the value of waiting until you’re ready.)
(Hi so my parents deleted my account…. anyways do you want to continue this? I’m fine if you drop it.)
(I think I might drop it? On top of everything else going on in my life, I'm starting to feel my interest in it drop.)
(Oh, that’s fine dude, I totally get it.)
