(man, I'm so sorry, I've been off the grid and I'm just now checking and realizing that I left you on read for so long man. So sorry about that!)
(don't worry! Honestly I forgot we had this until now but if you want to contue I'd be more than happy to as well. If you want to drip I'd understand and I hope we can rp in the future!)
(I mean, I would be okay with doing it like this :)) as long as your cool with it)
(absolutely, did you want to continue from before? Or restart with the same idea?)
(I don't mind either way lol)
(ok, if it's ok I'd want to keep going with the current plot we have and the characters)
"nothing out of the ordinary for him fortunately. If I'm being completely honest he's making our job easier." Jess muttered softly to which Calliope gave a ghost of a smile. Easier sure but humane? Perhaps not. Calliope didn't pretend to be an angel, it was tiring sometimes seeing these terrible people get away with the same crime again and again. While she didn't necessarily agree with Akira's methods, it was indulgently satisfying seeing justice served that seemed to actually work instead a slap on the hand.
She flipped through file, reading over the recent crime reports, pausing as she got to the most recent one. Reported around 1:00pm that day, a break-in in her flat right after she would have finished her latest mission. She cursed softly and shoved the file into her bag. "I gotta go, Jess! A certain someome got it into his thick head thathe can go through my stuff." She stood and made her way to the door as fast as she could to catch the next bus.
The moment she got into her apartment she did a sweep of the room, to see what, if anything, was missing. When nothing seemed out of place, Cal went into the bedroom, cursing again when she saw the window open. Of course he had gone in through the window. She picked up the clothes she had thrown across her bed in her hurry that morning and tossed them in the closet, embarrassed that someone, Akira of all people saw that. She stood in the middle of the room looking for anything that might have been missing but only found a note on her bedside table. She arched an eyebrow, and slowly read through it. "Its always at midnight, huh?" She muttered, tapping the note against her lip in thought. Was this a good idea? Did she trust Akiria not to set her up in some trap? Her immediate answer was no, but there was something in the back of her mind telling her this was different.
Calliope set the note aside for now and decided to change and enjoy the rest of her evening before meeting with Akira, needing to clear her head a rest from her long day.
(will respond as soon as I can!)
(sounds good!)
(boops, it was this one I believe)
(oH RIGHT SORRY)
(no worries!)
Akira was waiting for her for what felt like eons…would she even bother showing up? He was beginning to think she wouldn't. He's been at their meeting place for several hours … He even managed to find a stray cat to keep himself company. He bought the cat some fresh tuna, and pet it gently while it was eating the fish. He glanced at every entrance, keeping a steady eye.
He was about ready to leave. I mean, it was an hour last midnight and it wasn't like her to be late…
Maybe he got his hopes up for no reason. He crumpled up the paper he wrote for her, and threw as far away as he could. He clenched his fist…he hated how much he wanted to see her. How much he wanted to speak with her….he wanted to hate her too. Hate how righteous she was. Hate how she always let the bad guys get away without so much of a scratch…what was she even doing? Did she not realize how what she was doing did absolutely nothing to stop those people?
She left every mess for him to pick up…despite her "saving the day" it was always left him to actually deal with the people who were bad guys.
Like she even knew the line between good and bad.
If she actually cared to be the peoples hero…she would start by arresting those rich pricks that picked on those less fortunate then others.
Calliope jerked awake with a start, her breaths coming in heavy and her brow slicked with sweat. She shoved herself up from her bed and stared at her pillow, willing herself to calm down before she slumped against her headboard, tearing off the comforters and blankets that wrapped around her torso and legs. She blindly grabbed for her phone and tapped the screen, only to curse softly and scramble the rest of the way out of her bed. She had only intended to take a short nap before she met with Akira but had now managed to sleep most of the afternoon and the better part of the night away. She was already late by 15 minutes late, and with the time it took for her to change and get across town, it would be nearly 1:00. As she changed, Cal contemplated whether it would be worth seeing Akira. It wasn't that she didn't want to, she genuinely did like seeing her immortal companion on the rare occasion that they weren't fighting, nice catching up and seeing a familiar face throughout their long lifetime. But times were changing fast, her occupation was shifting into something she grew less and less enthusiastic about as rules were set in place and changed again to accommodate and, in Calliope's opinion, excuse criminals. All she could do was pretend as if everything would be fine, put on a smile for the public eye as criminals were being let go behind her back. She had brought up her frustrations to Jess but even as head of the agency, even she was powerless against her higher-ups. And with more of the people being brought in lawyering up to their throats, it became on agencies like the one Calliope worked for to justify keeping at bay. Unless of course, Cal and the others went rogue. If they suddenly went lone-wold apart from the agency and started taking names themselves, like Akira. The idea was both thrilling and horrifying to Calliope. She wanted to do the right thing, it's all she's wanted her whole existence. to protect the world she was allowed to live in for so long. What better way of doing that than being a hero? But now, if she wanted her version of justice, would she be willing to throw out the rules and become a vigilante?
She took a deep breath as she tugged on her coat and stepped out of her flat into the dead of the night. Half an hour later, and trying to hide the fact that she was actively struggling to climb 8 fleights or so of stairs to the rooftop, Calliope finally made it to their meeting place, an hour late but hey, she made it. The building had had its many iterations throughout the centuries, a bar in its most recent year, a retail outlet back in the 50s, a nightclub back in the early 1900s. Her favorite time was when the building used to be a restaurant, classy and elegant back in the 1800s that served the most amazing cuisine she had ever sampled in her lifetime. But for now, the building stayed abandoned until someone came along and renovated it again or perhaps it has lived out its time as a spectacle, only good for fond memories no one but them would remember. Calliope shucked off her coat, leaving her in a sweater and sweatpants. Perhaps not the most appropriate for a meeting with Akira but she honestly could care less about what he saw her in at this time of night. "I see you've made a friend." She greeted softly as she joined him by the building advertising sign that's been out of commission for years now. She held out her hand for the cat to inspect, lightly petting its head when it deemed her as not a threat. "You could have called or something. Now Jess is gonna want know the detains on why you broke into my apartment only to leave a vague note, and you know she won't accept anything less than the plot of a Hallmark movie as an explanation."
