Avdey follows the creature silently. The weight of magic fills the air and he rolls his eyes. He jumps back up onto a book case, walking on top of them and looking down at the other. No, he wouldn’t attack, he’d demand to be set free. Then he could go home. He could guess his father made one of his brother the heir.
He steps silently and speaks softly, his voice barely above a whisper, “Who are you?”
Vesper turns around to see a vampire standing mere feet behind him. "I'm Vesper. Nice of you to finally show up." He smirks at the vampire, still walking towards the bookshelves. Vesper isn't paying too much attention to the vampire, like he cares more about the books on the shelf then the undead threat behind him.
Avdey watches, standing still. He bares his teeth slightly and his gaze follows the other as they move. He smelled different than a human and Avdey would not bite him until he was sure. His arms cross defensively across his chest, “Or, moreover, it’s nice of you to finally show up. Do you know how foolish it is to leave a magical trap unattended?”
"Sure, if it was a trap. But after the trap was sprung, it became a prison, and it seems that the prisoner has withered away at this point. So its not like anything had to be tended to." Vesper actually wasn't sure what had happened to the curse the seal was made for, but it was better to act like he was in control of the situation. Besides, it was more likely the cursed being had died in all of this time. "Anyway. Do you want something? Or are you gonna kill me or whatever?" Vesper says this while pulling books out from the shelf, and looking over them. Nothing too new, guess the library gets less funding for books when a dark spirit is trapped in the inner depths of it.
Avdey hisses softly at him in irritation, his anger slowly starting to get the better of him. His brown eyes flashed red for a moment, and he tensed, but managed to hold himself back. He bares his teeth slightly, the sharp fangs poking out. His were much longer and sharper than a turned, and few had seen a Born vampire. Rare as they were. Avdey only know two others and those were his parents.
“Just let me out.” He hisses, his eyes flashing red again. Gods, he was hungry. It had been days since anyone had been in the library besides the librarian. Avdey had taken a liking to the kind, elderly man, and hadn’t harmed him. And now he had a slightly better control, he didn’t kill his victims. Not all the time, but the truly bad ones, those died. And right now, he just wanted out.
Vesper eyes the vampire, trying to see if he should trust him. There hadn't been any blood anywhere, and no corpses so far as he could tell. It seems this one really was just tired of being trapped. Which… Vesper could relate to. He feels a pang of guilt for making him suffer the same as Vesper had so many years ago. "Alright then." He considered being a bit of an ass about it, but decides to give the guy a break. He snaps his fingers and lets the magic sustaining the barrier fade away. There's an audible noise as the magic dissipates. ".. Sorry. You're probably right that I shouldn't leave these things unwatched." He says apologetically, if a little awkwardly.
Avdey takes a deep breath, feeling the presses lift off his chest. It felt good to have the sense of freedom again. The ability to come and go as he could. He was a free spirit and a wanderer, and being trapped here for five centuries was. . . A large toll on him.
Though he was sure things were different these days than they had been when he was last free, he knew he could adapt. Though he wasn’t sure if he could do it on his own. His gaze settles on the man before him, crossing his arms, “I want retribution.”
Vesper peers over at the vampire. "Retribution? I'm not going to let you kill me in revenge, and I'd say I've done my due diligence in undoing the seal on the library. Or do you mean something else?" He slides the book back onto the bookshelf, giving the Vampire his full attention.
Avdey huffs, “I don’t want to kill you. I’m not a monster.” He crosses his arms.
“I want you to teach me they ways of the modern world. I’m sure a lot has happened in the past five centuries.”
He stares at the man before him, assessing him for a long moment.
"Hm. Interesting…." Vesper eyes the vampire one last time. "I suppose I could do that. I've done plenty of traveling, so I'd be well qualified. But first- What's your name? I can't just call you 'vampire' the whole time on this proposed world tour."
Avdey stares at the other before him. Names were a powerful thing and Avdey wasn't about to throw even just his first name out at the man. He sighs and crosses his arms, "It's Robin." He grins, flashing fangs for a moment before staring at the man before him.
"What's yours?" He asks tilting his head to the side slightly.
Vesper answers without considering, "It's Vesper. Pleasure to meet you ….Robin. Were you just named after the bird, or is that a family name?"
