"Understandable" said Silver, "So what're you doing out on such a nastily sunny day?"
"Understandable" said Silver, "So what're you doing out on such a nastily sunny day?"
Rose shrugged. "I guess I like being around people. It gets boring all along in my apartment. What about you? What are you doing out here in the heat?"
"No reason in particular" said Silver, "I guess I just needed to be out and about."
"Ah." Rose nodded, understanding. "Whats up with your fur vest?" She asked, almost as if noticing it for the first time.
"Always wear it," said Silver, "or at least have it on me," he said, since it was under his arm for the heat.
"Oh." Rose said, not knowing how else to respond. She quietly follows Silver, not knowing what to say next.
"It was given to me by a friend… and then replaced by my brother" said Silver, by way of a better explanation.
"Are you close to him? Your brother I mean?" Rose looked next to her at Silver, awaiting his answer.
"We were…" said Silver, "Though things have changed a lot…. we still care about each other, but some of our principals have changed…"
Rose nodded, looking straight ahead again. “I understand what you mean… I haven’t seen my family for a while now…”
Silver watched her for a moment, "So, why would you be talking to a complete stranger like me anyway?" he asked.
Rose paused for a moment, thinking through her answer. “You looked like you needed some shade, and I liked your hair.” Rose smiled a little, happy with her answer.
Silver grinned, "Well that's very nice of you" he said, "So any idea on where to go?"
“I don’t know, I was kinda just following you. In a NON creepy way.” Rose laughed. “But I guess if we were to go somewhere, I’d like to get out of the sun…”
"Walk in the woods ok?" Asked Silver, turning off into the park.
“I guess…” Rose followed, having no problem with the woods. Her only thought was why he would want to go into the woods.
Silver looked back at her for a second, before shrugging and continuing on down the park pathway, suddenly turning off, and heading for the trees.
Rose stopped for a second when Silver turned. She skittered foward a few steps to catch back up, making sure she stayed in the shade until the trees fully blocked any direct sunlight.
Once they were in the trees Silver's footsteps became almost silent, his eyes and ears tuned to everything around him. He almost shifted on impulse, but stopped himself when he heard Rose behind him.
As Rose folded up her umbrella and swung it over her shoulder, she watched Silver. As soon as they were in the woods, something shifted in the way he was acting. It was familiar, but not in a way Rose could place her finger on.
Silver relaxed considerably, wandering through the forest, acting as if he belonged.
Rose followed behind at a slower pace, but keeping a reasonable distance behind Silver.
Silver paused in his steps, grinning as he listened to the slight rustle of a rabbit's paws.
“Where are we going?” Rose whispered, trying to startle Silver.
Silver turned to look at her, "Nowhere in particular" he said.
