Kallista unfolded her wings, and their true magnificence was revealed. "They aren't, really. If you saw Undina's…" A tear dripped from her eye as she remembered her sister.
Kallista unfolded her wings, and their true magnificence was revealed. "They aren't, really. If you saw Undina's…" A tear dripped from her eye as she remembered her sister.
“Now don’t cry,” he reached over to wipe the tear from her check. “We all hold a beauty that is not comparable to other’s. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.”
Normally Kallista would slap his hand away, but for some reason she didn't. "Look, I can cry. I can remember my sister and marvel at how beautiful her wings were. I can remember Paraden, and you can't tell me otherwise."
“I never said you can’t remember your sister or Paraden, whoever they are. I just asked that you don’t cry, I personally don’t think it makes people look too attractive.” He put his arm down and took a step back. “So you still don’t want to try and find this place with me?”
"Don't tell me that I can't cry," She snapped. "And no, I don't want to find this place with you. I don't believe in myths, and you've told me that it is one. And Arapazia will stop at nothing to find me, and she will find this place easily."
“How well does this Arapazia person know you?” Cody asked. “If she knows you, she’ll know that you wouldn’t go chasing after a myth. So it’s actually one of the last places she would look for you.”
"We used to be best friends," She replied. "So she knows me quite well. Better than most."
“Then going to a place that’s supposed to be a myth would be the best hiding place. It doesn’t matter if it’s really true or not, she’d never guess it to be there.” Cody spoke with his hands.
"She wouldn't guess it was there because she doesn't know about it. Paradenians know if a myth is real or not, we just do."
“So tell me, with your magical myth telling powers, if this is real or not.” Cody crossed his arms across his chest. “And either way, if it be true or not, there can’t bring much more harm than being the public where everyone can see you.”
Kallista didn't feel like replying to him. Instead, she spread her wings, taking to the sky. Her dark blue wings melted into the sky, hiding her body.
“Aye, you see I’m right.” Cody yelled up to her. “If you change your mind, just let me know.” With that Cody headed off into the woods.
Kallista watched him go. She couldn't get close to people, it was too risky. Arapazia would do anything to get rid of her, and she couldn't risk that happening to someone she had the possibility to have feelings for.
Cody walked silently over the fallen branches and leaves. Once the edge of the forest was out of sight, he leaned against a tree, berating in the scent if comfort. He was almost certain she would follow after. She had to, he could tell she wasn’t the type to give up easily and he needed to find this place.
Kallista didn't want to follow him, but where she w a travelling was in the direction she was going. She zoomed across the sky, surprisingly fast for someone with butterfly wings. She was almost graceful, silent but deadly.
Cody knelt down to the ground, closing his eyes as he felt the familiar feeling cross over him. A wolf stood in the place of him. Cody in his wolf form, ventured further into the woods.
Kallista knew of the rumors. While people knew of Arapazia's wrath, their fear made them believe everything she said. People thought she was an assassin, disfigured, a murderer, ruthless. She was none of those things.
Cody took off I to a run, stopping at a hint tree. The tree had a hole close to the ground just big enough for a wolf his size. He climbed into the hole which opened up to a small room with furnishings.
Kallista winced and bit her lip when something shot through her wing. She avoided screaming, as she didn't want to risk everyone knowing where she was. She crashed down nearby the tree Cody was in, groaning with pain at the impact.
Cody switched his form back into a human and went to go sit on the couch. He heard a load thud and some groaning outside. Quickly going back out he saw Kallista.
Kallista heaved herself to a sitting position and pulled her wing in front of her. She knew she was vulnerable but she had to heal her with.
Cody leaned against the tree and crossed his arms. “You change your mind, huh? Or did you just happen to find where I lived by accident?”
The Paradenian held up her wing, which had a clear hole in it. "I had to head to the next town, which was in the direction you were travelling. Someone shot through my wing, and I landed here."
Cody went over to her and examined the wing without touching it. “There’s a hole there alright. What do you need to fix your wing? I might have something that could do the job.”
"I don't need anything," Kallista snapped. The hole was slowly healing, the girl having used her healing magic on it. "I won't be able to fly for a couple hours, though. And they'll catch up to me on foot."
