this sounds really good…
Could I join you?
Yes for sure!
Any specific topics in mind? A preferred genre?
Sweet!
Uhh… I'm not really picky about genres… I'm just not very good with medieval stuff lmao.
Idk much about topics. I'm fine with whatever if you had a certain one in mind.
I'm not picky about genres as long as it's not sci-fi
would you prefer a dark fantasy au or dark realistic au? Idk, dystopian?
ooh dark fantasy allows for some more ideas (like cryptids and fae, etc)…
dystopian sounds fine by me
Stalkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk//
alright dark fantasy with a bit of dystopian it is!
lol Lex feel free to
Any other specific ideas? You're cool w a slow burn romance, right?
Nice!
join us lex!
The one other idea I had was to maybe both characters having a common enemy of an overlord or something but eh it's kinda stupid of an idea.
The only other idea is like contract-killers who keep getting assigned the same target?? also a bit of a stupid idea…
Yes, I'm totally fine with a slow-burn romance. Gay or nah?
Mwahahahahaaaaaaa
I'm totally up for queer stuff or straight stuff, whichever you prefer, but if it's gonna be gay could we do a g+g romance?
neither are stupid ideas! I like the overlord thing 'cos it ties in with the whole dystopian idea, what if we mixed it up and had our characters be in different groups/nations/rebellions/sides which are enemies, but the two groups/nations/rebellions/sides also had a common enemy, AKA the overlord/nation?
When you say g+g, are you saying guy+guy or girl+girl? I'm fine with either, and can't get enough of queer stuff lmao.
Yes, those sound like awesome additions/explanations! Would both of them be fantasy folk or one be fantasy and one be human/mortal?
girl+girl, sorry for being unclear
also huge mood same tho
You can do whatever you want with your character, but having one of them be from a human nation would be interesting because it could add to the whole enemies thing… and maybe the overlord can also be magic but evil, so they would be the enemy of both? Or would both of our characters be magic and the common enemy is human?
Ah, it's fine lmao I just get confused easily
Ooh, I really like the second option, with both characters being magic nemesises and the common enemy being human overlord(s)!
yasssssss alright
any ideas for a bit of basic worldbuilding before we start? I have something loosely based off a short story I once wrote?
Sure! I'd love to hear it.
So basically there are different magical species and humans, who live separately like different species do irl (bears, foxes, etc). Over the course of many years, they slowly begin to intermingle and form nations with humans and multiple species of fantasy folk. A couple hundred years pass, and the humans start to separate from the rest of the species, forming their own colonies. As humans do, they become huge assholes who start fearing and persecuting everyone who doesn't fit their definition of 'normal'. Eventually, the some species grow suspicious of others, so tribes form with only some creatures allowed (eg. there might be a nation with fae and elves only). Now the nations are enemies and hate each other and the humans
do you have any ideas?
That sounds like a really good baseline for worldbuilding for this! Are there any physical barriers between these nations or are there fluid borders that can easily be crossed on accident? These nations could also be battling for resources that the humans are hogging?
Yes the battling for resources idea is a great one! And I was thinking a bit of both as far as boundaries go, depending on the strength of the nation
