"H-He wants to switch sides!" The apprentice breathed deeply, trying to calm down.
"He said he was no longer under his father's control."
"H-He wants to switch sides!" The apprentice breathed deeply, trying to calm down.
"He said he was no longer under his father's control."
Daso leaned back, slowly placing his weapon back onto the table, leaving it on safety but fully loaded. "I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt, guys," he suggested, gazing at the other heroes gathered around the table. He hadn't know Lock Jawz son to be overly evil or anything. He assumed that the kid was telling the truth…why wouldn't he be?
She crossed her arms, frowning. “I want to see it for myself.”
The apprentice leaned against the door, weary from the long, long run from the entrance.
"Shall I fetch him?"
Daso opened his mouth to reply, hesitated, and looked at everyone else for confirmation.
“I think you should… we should hear what he is saying ourselves,” Emma glances at the others. “What do you all think?”
"Yeah, I agree," he said, relieved. "We may as well see what he has to say, right?"
The apprentice nodded, hurrying to fetch Hailstrom, leaving the Supers to speak among themselves.
She watched the apprentice leave, allowing herself to get consumed in her thoughts. “If anything, it’s weird,” Emma eventually stated, letting some of her worry show. “This hasn’t really happened before. I’m not sure what to really think about it…”
"I think it'll be okay," Daso said, twirling his weapon around on the table. "And if not, we can handle him and use him for information. I don't think there's a way we can lose here..right? I mean, if everyone agrees."
Emma tapped her fingers against her chin. “True. A win for us either way.”
(Should we wait for @Loops?)
(I think so; they should have their two cents heard.)
(so very sorry, I was participating in the activity called sleep)
Maysa, who had been silent for the majority of the conversation, sat up in her chair with the clinking of jewelry.
"This is…highly unexpected," She commented, raising an eyebrow. "Though not entirely impossible. We can't turn down a chance for this kind of person on our crew."
(so did this just…die)
(Idk. I was thinking you guys would communicate more, and it got buried…)
(maybe just go ahead and bring in your character?)
(Yeah…)
Suddenly, the room grew chilly as the apprentice led Hailstrom into the room. Hailstrom looked around at the Supers gathered, a cold look in his eyes. He said nothing. The apprentice was visibly terrified.
"Hi there!" Daso said brightly, either not noticing or refusing to acknowledge the chilly atmosphere that had entered with Hailstrom. "What brings you here?"
Hailstrom's gaze feell on Daso. It was less of a gaze, though, and more of a glare.
"Defeating Lock Jawz."
Maysa raised an eyebrow, leaning forward and waving off the apprentice. "Have a seat," She began, her golden nails flashing against the light, "And we'll talk."
Hailstrom moved to stand behind the seat, but he didn't sit. The apprentice scampered off.
Emma flinched when Hailstrom entered, though recovered quickly. Still, she didn’t speak; instead, she merely tilted her head and observed him.
"Why are you trying to stop Lock Jawz?" Daso wondered. "I mean, he's your dad." It wasn't beyond the realm of imagination, though. Daso could certainly relate.
Hailstrom looked at Daso.
"He's an asshole."
