"I'm definitely going now!" Daeshim said with a smile. "It's probably one of the biggest games of the year… we'd better win." No matter the theme he always dressed up for the games, no exceptions. Running his free hand through his now messy hair, he started walking out, making sure Lily was next to him.
Lily beamed. “The theme for tonight is aliens, right? I think it was called ‘out of this world’ or something?” She had the perfect outfit planned out for it, right down to the earrings. Lily was so psyched, since this was her favorite theme so far and obviously the game itself was a big deal.
"Oh, it sure is! Just you wait until you see my costume, it'll blow everyone off the face of the earth." Daeshim said with a laugh. He thought he was hilarious. He had been planing out his outfit all week.
Lily giggled. “That is a terrible joke, but I love your enthusiasm!” she teased. “I think my outfit is going to be pretty awesome too! Would you mind giving me a ride there? Rose has something going on tonight, so she can’t take me, and you know I don’t have a car.”
"Of course I mind… not giving you a ride… my gosh sorry Lily, of course, I can take you. Do you need a ride home as well?" Daeshim asked as they made their way out of the school. As always he held the door open for Lily.
Lily smiled at him. “Thank you! And yeah, I need a ride home too, if you don’t mind.” She was sure he would be more than happy to help. Daeshim had always been kind to her.
Daeshim was still smiling as he lead Lily to his car, also opening the passenger door for her. He jogged to the driver's side, buckling himself in as he sat down and closed the door. He was so glad he had met Lily back when he came to kindergarten. He barely spoke any Korean, let alone English so it was a rough start. He was generally a nice guy always ready to help his friends and classmates.
Lily sat down, arranging her backpack between her ankles like usual. She closed the door and leaned her head against the window. “What kind of music are we listening to today?”
"Okay, you can choose from either SHINee or Troye Sivan," Daeshim answered with a smile as he put the car in reverse, backing up so he could back up then drive out.
“Hmmm, is both an option?” she asked, glancing at him with a smile. Lily wasn’t good at making decisions, and she never had been.
Daeshim sent a smile Lily's way, keeping his eyes on the road though. "Of course, I was hoping you'd say that." Glancing to the screen int the middle he turned on a playlist, starting with View by SHINee." He wasn't much of a singer, but he was a master lip sync-er.
Lily smiled at his lip syncing and sang along. She was a terrible lip sync-er but was a good singer. She was shy about it, though, and mostly only sang along to the radio. She stared out the window like she normally did, because she liked the view, even if she’d already seen it a million times before.
Daeshim usually went through back roads since there was always less traffic, and it was a faster route anyway. He stopped in the road as three deer went across, starting again one they finished.
“Those deer were super cute,” Lily commented. She grinned. Lily loved cute animals; it was no secret she was a huge softie. She honestly really liked riding home with Daeshim.
"They sure were! I love when that happens, they're just minding their own business walking across the road like they own it. I love when a mama deer is leading her babies. BUT they aren't as cute as we were when we were little." Daeshim laughed a little as he said that, glancing to Lily again.
Lily giggled, remembering all of the pictures her dad still kept. “Yeah, my dad still has pictures of us hanging up from when we were in kindergarten. He loves you,” Lily replied. Her stepmom didn’t like Daeshim much, but her mom certainly had. Her dad had always adored Daeshim, sometimes telling Lily how he wished that Daeshim were his son.
Daeshim had a big smile, remembering back then. "I don't doubt it!" He said while pulling into Lily's driveway. "Welp, here we are at the Takahashi household, that'll be 25$, please. I hope you enjoyed the Dae and night driving service." He said, trying to hold in he laughter.
Lily laughed. “Top notch service, Mr.Park,” she teased, opening the door and getting out of the car. She put her backpack back on with a smile. “I’ll tell my dad you say hi.”
Daeshim broke and he started laughing. "I'll pick you up a 6:30, yeah?" He asked through the still open car door. "I'm expecting an extraordinary outfit, you'd better deliver!"
“Have I ever let you down?” Lily asked with a twinkle in her eye. “And 6:30 is perfect. I expect your outfit to be amazing too!” With that she shut the door and walked up to her house, waving at Daeshim before shutting the door.
Daeshim smiled, waving back to Lily. As she shut the door he started driving home. It was a little longer to his house, but he never minded. He did enjoy just driving and listening to music. He was excited for that night, it was going to be a lot of fun. He hoped there wouldn't be someone or something in trouble like the game before.
Lily opened the door with the keys she always kept in her backpack, home alone as usual. Her dad and stepmom were both at work, and Rose was working too. Lily’s stepmother had insisted she learn what having a job was like before going to college, and her dad agreed. She smiled and set out her outfit on the bed.
(time skip to 6:30?)
(Yes!)
After he got his outfit on and situated, her check the time and rushed to his car to pick up Lily. Driving almost the speed limit, he reached Lily's house at 6:29. That gave him time to walk up to the door. He hopped out of his car and walked up to the door, knocking as he got to it.
“Who’s that?” Delia, Lily’s stepmother, demanded.
Lily hurried down the stairs and glanced at Delia. “It’s just Daeshim picking me up for the game,” she explained. Delia frowned. “Bye, Delia,” Lily added before Delia could get any words out, and opened the door.
“Hi, Daeshim!” she exclaimed with a smile, ignoring Delia’s disapproving look.
She was dressed for the occasion with her hair half-up and half-down, with the part that was up in two pigtails. She has a shiny pink headband with fake sparkly antennae and pink glitter eyeshadow. Her shirt was light pink with a black alien head design on the top left, and she wore a shiny pink miniskirt that matched her headband. Her shoes were rainbow metallic platform sneakers with knee-length light pink socks. She liked to have different color palettes for her game day outfits, and today’s was obviously pink.
(hope that i described that okay lol)
(You sure did! I like it :))
Daeshim's smile grew as he saw Lily's outfit. "OMG, THAT'S GREAT, LILY!! I feel like I underdressed now." He marveled, laughing.
Daeshim had somehow spiked his hair like many anime boy hairstyles with a teal version of this headband. He had face painted magenta, teal, and silver dots and swirls on his face. He had on a metallic-looking magenta tank top and his silver fake leather jacket. He changed the laces on his teal converse to silver ones just for this occasion and he had black crew socks (that were his mom's) with magenta swirls like the ones on his face. This was one of the few times he would also wear shorts, they were grey.
