Alphas (α) are born as natural leaders and grow up to be the elites of society. Most people are average with a few outstanding qualities. These are betas(β). And at the bottom of society, the Omegas(Ω). Omegas go through periods where they go into heat. During this time they exude pheromones to attract the Alphas. Alphas nearby will some times try to claim an Omega during this time if neither of them is in a “pair” Omegas have to take suppressants during their heat. Otherwise, they are unable to function as productive members of society. That is one of the reasons for their low status in society. There is a certain bond that Alphas and Omegas can form, where they become known as a “pair”. They become a “pair” when an Alpha bites an Omega’s neck. From then on, pheromones released by the bitten omega will only affect the paired Alpha. The effects of the Omega’s heat are also reduced.
