Tessa averted her eyes and shrugged out of Ronan's grasp, heading to his house without a word. He followed after a few seconds, letting her think in silence.
She opened the door and threw herself on the couch, sighing. Ronan shut the front door behind him and silently headed up to his bedroom.
after about an hour, nik fell back on his couch after a quick "hey i'm home" call to simon and yanked his phone back out of his pocket. how to explain this?
he opened tessa's contact, still wondering if she had changed her number. he was… slightly ashamed he had never deleted it, but that came in handy now.
the text he ended up with was
hey there! if this is the wrong number, just tell me so, but if this is tessa, then i am SO sorry about what happened at lunch! we've worked out the problem since then, but i didn't want that fight to happen in public. hope it didn't inconvenience you too much!
Tessa's phone pinged, and she ignored it for some time. But something in the back of her mind wouldn't let her ignore it.
She sighed and grabbed her phone, looking at the text that she had gotten. Nik… She read the message, then sat up to text him back.
Hey, it's still Tessa. Haven't felt like switching numbers, so here I am. Lunch was a little…confusing…but I'm glad you two worked it out. I'm staying over at Ronan's at the moment. Doing the usual sibling-love thing and invading his space as much as possible before he leaves. He still doesn't know how to properly shop for food.
nik smiled at the notification of her return text, closing out of twitter and switching back to messages.
thank god, i was so nervous i'd texted some stranger with a cryptic message about lunch. if you guys need any help with food shopping or cooking i'd be glad to assist. not tryna let you die of starvation.
She smiled, then bit her lip as she thought about what Ronan had said.
Don't worry, you know how much I cherish my food. I'll make him go shopping.
And now for the difficult part. She took a deep breath and typed, hoping that she didn't make him run away.
Look… I get that we sort of broke it off because of our "careers," but beating around the bush now isn't going to do us any good.
nik bit his lip in thought.
straight to the point, eh? go on.
What else did you expect?
She sighed and flipped onto her stomach as if that would make her nerves lessen any.
What I mean is that it's either doing just that, getting straight to the point about how we feel about our relationship, or sitting around all day and over thinking every little thing.
you're right. i'm more amused than surprised, really. which part did you want to talk about?
nik took a deep breath, getting up to get some water. this should be fun.
Probably the biggest part: Do we even want to get back together?
She bit her lip as she sent the next text.
Do we even feel the same anymore?
She certainly did, but she wasn't sure about him.
i mean, it depends. on getting back together, probably not right away? on feeling the same… it's different, now, but i do still love you if that's not too forward.
he bit down hard on his lip again, waiting anxiously for her reply.
I know not right away, but we could at least try again, right?
She sat up again, running her fingers through her hair before she sent the next text. Here goes nothing… she thought.
I still love you too. Everythings a little different now, but that hasn't changed.
(hey a little more character development as nik's still a wip but he speaks french too cause his mom did but he,,,, never uses it and pretends like he doesnt know it)
there we go, then.
he flopped back on the couch, sighing loudly. after a pause, he lifted his phone again and pulled up a contact.
"hey, ma. comment vas-tu?"
(sweet)
She tossed her phone to the side, then grabbed a blanket and bundled up into it, curling into a ball as she attempted to fall asleep on the couch. The plethora of pillows provided ample comfort—both siblings loved their pillows and comfort—so it wasn't long before her eyes started to droop.
he talked with his mom for a couple hours, as well as his dad. as he hung up, he noticed another contact.
Aimée
he pressed his lips together. he hadn't talked to his sister since she moved away with their parents when he was 14. he'd… he'd give her a call tomorrow.
nik clicked his phone off and got up to go to his bedroom. might as well sleep.
Tessa was draped over the couch now, fast asleep with her mouth hanging wide open. Ronan silently wondered downstairs, then smirked to himself as he saw his little sister passed out. He grabbed another blanket and gently covered her, as she had twisted around so much that the other one was only covering her feet. He lightly kissed the side of her head, whispering goodnight in Hawaiian.
in the morning, nik cracked an eye open and winced at the sunlight coming in. i have to call aimée today, fuck. he noted mentally, rolling out of bed. as he made his way to the bathroom, he stopped in his tracks as he remembered the text conversation.
god, damn it.
Ronan woke up and started on breakfast, knowing that any sort of attempt at waking his sister wouldn't work, but the smell of food would instantly disturb her slumber without pissing her off. She remained asleep on the couch, half of her body draped over the armrest in probably the most uncomfortable position that didn't seem to bother her.
(super sorry!!!! in the middle of a big move and we dont have internet at the new house yet)
he shook his head and shuffling further out of the room, and promptly took a dive courtesy of a sheet of paper on the floor.
after some colorful cursing, nik picked up the paper in offense.
"what the fuck is this?"
it contained scribbled words, and when he read it over he furrowed his brows. it's, uh. oh boy. that song i wrote last year. about.. tess. oh fuck
((It's okay!! I'm currently on vacation—though it doesn't feel like it at the moment…SO MUCH RAIN Not sure when I'll be available again, as the rain and thunderstorms have already cut off our power and screwed with our internet already))
Within minutes of the sweet, delicious smell of blueberry waffles being made, Tessa shot up from her sleep, half delirious with sleep. "I'm up!" she slurred loudly. Her hair was probably the worst it has been in a while—twisted in all kinds of directions and falling into her face; some spots were stiff with dried slobber.
Ronan looked over at his sister and rolled his eyes with a rumbly laugh. "You're such a goof," he said by greeting, flipping a pancake. She didn't seem to notice/care, as her eyes were trained on the food like a dog watching you eat, just waiting for a chance to grab it from you.
(hi
so we didnt get internet at the new house until yesterday
do you even want to continue this)
((I liked this rp, but it's ultimately up to you, as it's your rp))
((okay! if you liked it we can keep going i just didnt know if you had the spirit to anymore))
((We can either continue it, or maybe reboot it so they can get into some more shenanigans before turning "good"))
((rebooting it sounds fun. any ideas on that?))
((Hmm, we could do a similar start as this one, but slightly different. Maybe they both get caught after breaking into the same government facility—but they didn't know it at the time—and get to talking in their jail cell. They're both looking to gain the same thing, so they decide to team up to take the corrupt government officials down?))
