The living shadows split up as the other took the brunt of the attack by Jake

Jake kept casting spells. " GET SOMEONE! WE NEED BACKUP!"

Mallory turned back and started sprinting back to Haven.

The shadows rushed up to Jake and started to latch onto his legs.

Ember heard the front door burst open and poked her head from her room, in the middle of braiding Anna's hair for the small child

"Ember!" She yelled loudly in pure panic.

"What is it Mal?" Ember asked as Anna peeked out from behind Ember as well

Mallory grabbed Ember's arm. "It's the shadows- and something else- we have to hurry! Anna you need to stay here." She said pulling Ember.

Ember rushed out with her. Em's Bow and quiver appearing on her back as they rushed out (we should wait for Jake now)

Jake was fighting off one of the beasts when another one pounced onto him biting his shoulder.

Mallory was running as fast as she could skipping over her steps and tripping. "Hurry!" She cried.

Jake then grabbed the creature and snapped its neck throwing it's dead body aside and fighting off some more.

Ember pulled her bow from her shoulder and notched an arrow in about half a second and fired an arrow into the one that had sunk its teeth into Jake, the silver tip sunk into its body.

Mallory held a hand over her mouth and gasped. She ran close to Jake not caring if they attacked her.

The figure from before watched the whole fight a couple of yards away, motioning with their clawed hands to control the shadows, that unlike the creature Jake knew, seemed to not be having all that much trouble shrugging off attacks. When Ember's silver arrow hit the creature though the figure winced as if they had felt the arrow

Mallory came beside Jake, completely weaponless and defenseless. The only thing she could do was try to get into its head. Whatever this was. She knew what the shadows were- and if I thought was the only thing that had to be done, she'd do it. "Jake!?" She called.

Under the figure's control their thoughts were organized and rational dodge, bite while he stumbles over his words, avoid the arrows they hurt. Ignore the silly little girl and focus on the other two The figure commands the two, then they latch onto the creature Jake knew at last.

Jake got up and started to charge at the creature, hoping to bring it down and starts firing at it with fire fists.

Mallory felt helpless and stopped trying to chase down Jake. She went back to Ember and stood beside her. "What should I do?" She asked.

Ember gave Mal one of her silver hunting Knives and motioned for her to follow as Ember put the bow up and pulled out her handgun, that she peeled off three shots at the combined creature. Until with Jakes caused it to flee and spring at Mal. Ember caught it by it's neck and struggled with the weight of it "Mallory s-stab it!"

She did so quickly looking at Ember in alarm. "Are you alright?" She asked staying alert.

Ember had gotten her side cut when holding the thing back "I'm fine, go see if Jake is-"

"Oh congratulations, you killed two of of the many more Shadows…and it appears that I'm not the only one that wants to kill you all…that creature was weak compared to my Shadows." They approached the three without even an ounce of fear, adjusting their tie of their pure black and grey suit

Mallory had noticed the cut, but the voice was distracting. "Ember…what do we do?" She asked softly.

"Jake get behind us and get away from that thing!" Ember sounded panicked and with genuine fear in her voice as she peeled off more shots at the human like figure.

They looked down at the bullet wounds Ember gave them and just chuckled "How cute" they started to reach out to Jake

"JAKE GET AWAY FROM THEM!"

(and now we wait for Jake)
