Kyle sat back down keeping his hands above the table. He started to eat sometimes ruffling Lily’s hair. “Can you please tell your daughter to now be illegal?”

Payton's mom laughed, glancing over at Lily who was eating happily. "We'll let her have this one. She'll get over it eventually and I don't have the energy to explain it to her."

Payton gazed up at Kyle, watching him smile like he was perfectly fine. I can tell that's not a real smile. He thought, wishing Kyle could hear his thoughts.

Kyle laughed. “Stop being illegal young lady! Know that I love you the most, because I’ve been with you since day one.”

Lily giggled and smacked her hands on the table. "I'm older than one!" She told Kyle excitedly.

Payton watched Kyle for a couple more seconds before huffing and standing up, leaving the table and walking back to his bedroom. He felt tears welling up in his eyes and locked himself in the bathroom, curling up against the counter. He won't even look at me. It's like I don't even exist.

Kyle watched him go up the steps and sighed. Now, I'm the bad guy again… Kyle got up. "I'll be right back Lily." Kyle smiled and kissed her forehead. Kyle stood up and walked after Payton. Kyle knock on the wall and leaned on the doorway.

Payton wiped at his eyes and opened the door a little, looking out at Kyle. "What did I do? Why are you ignoring me? Why won't you hold my hand? Did I do something wrong? Do you hate me?" He asked nervously, crossing his arms over his chest.

Kyle scratched his neck. "You said to leave you a lone so that's what I'm doing. Once again I' the bad guy for something you told me to do. I misunderstood, right? I did something wrong. I hurt you. Right?" Kyle's voice was calm because by now he was used to this.

"I didn't mean it in that way..I'm sorry..It's not your fault." Payton responded quietly, guilt flooding through him. He reached out to hug Kyle, looking down at the ground.

Kyle hugged him back and kissed his temple. "It's fine." Let's go back downstairs. Your mom is probably worried." Kyle opened the door and started to walk.

"Can I just stay up here for a while? I'm not that hungry and I want to do some homework before I get too tired." Payton explained quietly, looking up at him hopefully.

"I promised Lily though." Kyle protested.

"No you can go back downstairs. Wouldn't want you to break a promise." He smiled a little, squeezing Kyle's hand.

"Payton…just come down with me." Kyle took his hand and opened the door.

Payton shook his head a little. "I just wanna stay up here for a little while." He said again, not sure why he didn't want to go back downstairs, he just couldn't find the energy.

"Okay…yeah…I'll go back downstairs then." Kyle nodded and let go of Payton's hand. He walked down to the table with Lily. "Even though you're older than one it's still illegal."

Payton felt his mood drop a little and walked back into his room, sitting down at the desk and starting on some homework. He could feel his energy dropping as he worked, just wanting to cuddle with Kyle and fall asleep in his arms.

Kyle came up 30 minutes later. "Did you finish yet?" he asked.

"Not yet.." Payton murmured, rubbing at his eyes to try and keep himself awake. He glanced over at Kyle and reached out for him, needing a hug.

Kyle picked up Payton and sat on the chair. Kyle took the pencil and started to do the homework. "You rest." Kyle held him on his lap having Payton's chest face his.

"If I don't finish it myself..I won't know how to do it.." Payton murmured in soft protest, turning his head to look over at the desk.

"I can teach you later, for right now get some rest. I can tell you didn't sleep very much last night." Kyle finished the sheet. "See? Already done."

"Mm..You're the best boyfriend. Did you know that?" Payton mumbled against Kyle's neck, letting his eyes close. "And you're a genius.."

"I know." Kyle smiled softly, then brought him to the bed. "Sleep tight…" Kyle yawned himself, but went to go take a shower.

Payton frowned a bit when Kyle left but curled up around a pillow, a soft smile on his lips as he slipped into a deep sleep.

Kyle came back and started to change into pjs. He sat back on the bed and laid down. Kyle wrapped his hands around his waist holding him close. He soon fell asleep, whispering an "I love you".
