"Your welcome, mind if I join you while we walk? Maybe we can chat a bit?"

Jason swallowed his hesitation and nodded enthusiastically, reaching out to help Raven to his feet.
"Where are you headed?"

Raven shrugs "I don't really know, I don't have anywhere to be, or any thing to do."

Jason arched an eyebrow. "Fair enough. Well, I'm that way," he said, jerking his head towards the High Street. He turned on one foot and started walking away, dragging his feet. Would Raven catch up?

Raven follows after, humming to himself.

"So. I'm Jason," he introduced, not meeting the other man's gaze.

"I'm Raven. Nice to meet you."

Jason nodded. "You too. I'm South African.

"I'm Italian, which is… neat? I dunno, we just get associated with pasta a lot, which I mean, it's not wrong."

Jason let out a laugh. "That's not a bad thing to be associated with if you ask me."

Raven chuckles along. "True! It's delicious most of the time."

"My mom taught me an amazing bolognese recipe when a few years back and I've been addicted ever since," Jason reminisced, a sad smile on his face. A few years.

"That sounds good, but, why the sad face? I brought something not so good in your mind, did I?" Raven looks at him with concern.

Surprised by Raven's attention, Jason looked over at him. "No! All's okay. Thank you," he blurted out, still looking at Raven. He looked genuinely concerned, and that helped.

"Your welcome. Hey, you want a piece of gum?" Raven takes out a piece for himself, and offers one to Jason.

"Thanks," Jason thanked him with a side smile, taking the gum. They brushed their hands together, and Jason's min narrowed onto the contact. He pulled his hand back, clutching the gum. "Thank you," he said again quietly.
