"Mm." Estella nodded, forcing herself to set down the wineglass in her hand. "You don't."
"Mm." Estella nodded, forcing herself to set down the wineglass in her hand. "You don't."
"I've been at this for centuries. Back when I was younger the alcohol used to be far stronger." She explained, sipping.
"Centuries…" She blinked. "Right." Her eyes flicked over Carissa's graceful form, and she distractedly wondered how those full lips would feel under her fingers.
"Indeed." Carissa said, leaning into the counter. "I am getting there, though." She added.
Estella nodded, distracted once more by the woman’s undeniable beauty. “Your name— Carissa— what does it mean?”
"It's Greek, meaning grace!" She explained, looking endearingly at Estella.
(I didn't actually know that offhand. I picked the name Carissa because it sounds like Ceres.)
(It’s a pretty name that suits her nonetheless)
God, those crystalline eyes were so beguiling, twinkling invitingly in the golden light of the bar. Estella could scarcely piece together an answer. “I can see why you chose the name.”
"Can you now, darling?" She asked, blinking as if to clear the haze in her mind. She leaned in closer to Estella.
Estella faltered, her sluggish thoughts coming to a stop. Darling. The word was music to her ears. “It’s hard not to,” she replied weakly.
"Likewise, my shining celestial…" Carissa called, leaning in, her eyes a gas-flame blue.
"You are… How do you say… Quite the star!
Estella ducked behind a curtain of hair, her cheeks aflame. “Thank you..” she murmured, heart pattering helplessly.
Carissa backed away, finishing her martini.
"Are you alright?" She asked, again adjusting her coat nervously.
“More than alright,” Estella reassured her, though her words came out jumbled. “Are you?”
"Definitely doing fine!" The sorceress said, leaning in, gazing into Estella's gold-flecked eyes with wonder!
Estella held eye contact, despite the almost overwhelming urge to cover her flushed face with her hands. “That’s— that’s good. I’m glad.”
"So…"
She said, starting to giggle.
Estella focused on Carissa’s crystalline eyes, reaching out a hand to cup the other woman’s cheek in her hand. “So..”
Carissa leaned in, their noses brushing together as azure and tawny eyes came together.
Her breath hitched– she was completely spellbound by Carissa's eyes. She was perfectly content to stay like this, neither of them pulling away, but neither of them advancing either, she wasn't sure how she felt about kissing quite yet.
Carissa looked through hwr gold-flecked eyes, into her soul.
Like a nebula, it was beautiful… She gasped. A smile appeared on her face. She sighed, wishing Estella could see what she saw.
Estella tilted her head upon hearing Carissa’s quiet exclamation, but she was too lost in the sorceress’s eyes to form a query. Her hands somehow found the other woman’s and grasped them tight— something she never would have done sober.
Carissa moved in, kissing Estella, it was fleeting, but simply magical. She half-closed her eyes. The sorceress was careful not to lean in too far and knock them both off-balance.
Estella’s eyes widened as a million starbursts of electricity raced through her. Her hand flew up to the place where Carissa’s soft mouth had brushed over hers, heart thundering.
Carissa giggled at her surprise, amused.
"You are an excellent woman, Estella, it is my honor to be here with you."
She said, her Greeco-Italian accent coming back with her drunkenness.
The kiss had rendered Estella speechless– all she could do was nod drunkenly and reach forward to trace Carissa's lips with the tips of her fingers.
