Ylva paused before shrugging, "Well, you're welcome to stay the night, there are enough protective charms around here to keep demons away. We have a guest room." She offers a gentle smile before moving into the kitchen to work on helping Alex.
Michael nods, "It seems like Ylva all saves all of us from some sort of demon." He laughed a little bit before shrugging slightly. "Plus free food." He laughed a bit and relaxed, tilting his head back. "Life is weird." He shrugged a little. "But Ylva's good at what she does. Out of all of us, she's been stuck in this life for the longest." He shrugged a little, "Practically raised fighting demons." He hummed and looked over at the kitchen. "So what do you do?" He asks curiously, smiling at them and offering a gentle smile. "It feels like we know so little about you." He leans on his hands, giving them his full attention.
"Oh! Ha, perfect," Gou responded with a bright grin at Ylva's direction, an expression of thankfulness lighting up their dark eyes. They turned and watched in silence for a few more moments, tilting their head back and forth to watch everyone, beaming at Michael as he turned towards them.
"Free food indeed, smart guy." They laughed their rumbling laugh and sat back in their chair, looking over at Ylva as she was mentioned. They had been dealing with Demons and Angels throughout their entire life, so a sense of pity settled over them. It must be exhausting for her to deal with it as a job. "She seems great at what she does. Strong and noble, which is surprising for hired pay for churches." They beamed at their own joke after the moment of seriousness. "I don't really do much. Like I said I came over from my hometown for some business, and now that I'm here, I basically just do anything and everything. I know mechanics, electricity, I can flip houses and play music… I just go here and there." They waved their hands in a few circles as they spoke. It wouldn't exactly be smart to mention that they were helping a gang with trading and smuggling cigars and other forms of cocaine, but what they said was entirely true as well.
(I'm -sort of- back!)
Michael snickers a bit and relaxes a little. "The church pays for everything, so that's nice at least. However, some of us work jobs just so that we can indulge in things we like. Some of us chose to get to go to college, but Ylva's been in this life so long she doesn't really know… what a normal life is. Hell, I haven't seen her on a date in years-" He sighed softly, "But she's tougher than nails that one. She's an example for all of us. She has the most will power, she's selfless, and noble." He laughed quietly. He looks over at Gou again and smiled, listening to them with intent. "Well if you want jobs- or like- a place to stay or something, you're always welcome here. You don't necessarily have to become one of us, but we could use some extra help around the house with all of this." He motioned around to the protective charms, as well as the careful writing on the walls. "Plus we could teach you ways to keep you under the radar when it comes to demons and angels. They can be a pain in the ass in your everyday life." He hummed and leaned back in his chair, downing some whiskey.
(Hey don't worry about it! Welcome back, it's good to see you again)
Gou's neutral lips twitched into a grin at the mention of a date, the thought satisfying to them in a way. Maybe they could be the one to change that? Invite her out on a pub run or something and have a good time. Would someone as uptight as Ylva want to do that, though? Perhaps she was the type to be taken out for a quiet lunch then a walk along the city in order to enjoy a book store or something of interest.
Shaking themselves from their thoughts, they paid attention at the mention of some sort. "I can do a lot of things for you all. If no one's good with their hands, it'd be good to have me on board. I'd also love to learn what you could teach me, too. Usually I'm okay but extra help is always appreciated." They laughed softly and shifted in their seat, standing up slowly and stretching out. "I should go with Ylva, though. Don't want her to get impatient."
(I'm in the process of some major life changes so I apologize for my absence! I haven't forgotten this. I want to give a reply that doesn't sound like a jumbled mess lol.)
(Of course! Take it easy and don't rush things, u know life is hard. Respond when ya can :D)
(Finally back lmao. Life is so busy now ;-; But finally that hectic stuff is almost out of the way)
Michael chuckled softly at that look in Gou's eyes. He wished them silent luck, Ylva had never gone on a date in ages, so it would be damn near impossible to ask her out, much less take her on a date that would please the hardworking defender of the balance. He finished off his whiskey and nods. "Best not keep the boss waiting." He raised his glass to them. "You're more than welcome to stay with us, just ask Ylva to make it official." He winked at them before moving to help Terrance with the dishes. Ylva was shouldering on her jacket, and Alex was talking quietly with Esther. He pats her shoulder before smiling at Gou. "I'm guessing Michael decided to interview you?" He teased softly. Ylva chuckles, "He usually does that. I suspect you're staying for the night? If that's the case we'll bring you back here once we're done dropping this food off." She explains as she grabs the various containers.
