WHERE IS YOUR RESPONSE TO OUR PRIVATE RP??)
The town's main plaza was already bustling with activity by the time Eris made it downstairs to open up the shop. The first clear day in weeks had everyone going out in the bright snow to get rid of their cabin fever.
Eris smiled as she stepped up to the decorated glass door of her cafe. She had recently painted all the big windows and doors in the front with a lovely holiday theme. She had done it for fun and not to grab the attention of more customers. Everyone in town knew that Eris's secret coffee recipe was to die for. As well as her medicinal teas.
Her soft smile turned into a fierce frown as he beheld the handwritten envelope tapped to the door. With a huff, she ripped it off and stuffed it into the pocket of her bright red apron. No need to read it, she knew exactly what that no good real estate asshole had written. He'd been on her for months to sell, but she wouldn't budge.
Grumbling, she braced the door open with a foot, looking about the plaza. She would never sell. This was her home. Her life.

WHERE IS YOUR RESPONSE TO OUR PRIVATE RP??)
(IM WORKING ON IT!! I HAVE SO MANY. FORGIVE MEEEEEEEE)
Lex made her way up to the cafe, bundled up in a large sweatshirt and some crocheted scarves. She waved to Eris cheerfully, finally reaching the cafe. Upon seeing the envelope she frowned. "So, the asshat again?" She asked, already knowing the answer. Ever since the man had started bothering Eris to sell the quaint little cafe, Lex had hated him with a burning passion.
Eris followed Lex into the cafe, dropping the envelope into the trash as she went. "Oh you know it." She muttered. She stepped behind the long counter to begin starting up her espresso machines. Looking back at Lex, she dramatically placed a hand to her head and recited what she remembered from his last letter to her only a week ago.
"My dearest Eris, by now I hope you understand how serious I am about going forward with this project. I insist that you and I meet to discuss the matters of your estate. A lovely dinner at…blah blah blah…." She snorted, pouring beans into the dispenser. "That man is blight on humanity."
"Stars, he sounds like an idiot." She said happily, tieing on her apron. "A different topic, what sweets should we have today? Preferable something with jam, jam is good." Lex smiled at her friend's dramatic display. "I like the cold, but this, this is not like Florida cold." She complained, gesturing outside.
Eris chuckled deeply after a moment of thought. "How about those jam tarts you made during the summer? Those were incredible." She placed a steaming mug of delicious smelling liquid in front of Lex. "Your morning potion, my lady."
"Yeah, I loved those. What els-" Lex stops as she smells it, a huge smile growing on her face. "You got it! You got my peach tea, you wonderful person!" She exclaims as she grabs the mug, taking large sips. "Tea!" She mumbles happily between sips.
Damien was hustling through the snow on frozen legs. He had tucked himself into his scarf and jacket but they were doing little in the way of protection. He had been in the snow before as a child vacationing with his parents, but living in it was an entirely new experience. He cursed himself for choosing a school so far north to finish his studies. As always, he had craved the adventure and the need to experience new things. Snow was just something he would probably have to cross off his list of "likes".
He spied a cafe not too far ahead and bee lined for it. A hot drink was exactly what he needed. Coffee! Maybe they're hiring… He stepped through the door, which had given a merry jangle, and looked to the two ladies standing behind the wide counter. Warmth seeped into his bones and he almost moaned in satisfaction. "Uh…sorry. Are you open?"
Zyra walked through the busy streets with her earbuds plugged in and blasting music, to drown out everything else and music is the only thing that has been with her all the time. She glanced around the streets and at everyone, it was still pretty early in the morning and she needed coffee to make herself be more awake. She had been to all of the coffee places here except for one which was very small but had the best coffee. She finally made it to the small cafe and quietly walked in, then she walked to the counter after a few moments. "Hey-um-can I have an espresso please?"
"Sure! What's your name darling?" Lex asked. She said this not in a flirtatious way, she just liked calling people darling. Lex set down her mug of tea, which by now, was almost empty and moved to the espresso machine. Hah, we don't need to sell this place. We have plenty of customers!
Eris glanced up at the customers that had walked in. She always knew what kind of day it was going to be by what time people started walking in. She glanced at the clock on the wall. Fifteen minutes past opening. A busy day then. She smiled, to her, those were the best kinds.
"Come on in! We're open." She said warmly as she began making the young woman's espresso. "Would you like any sweetener? Or something to eat? Lex is breaking out the jam treats today."
Glancing up at the gentleman still lingering by the door and glancing around she said, "We don't have a menu, doll. Once you tell me your name I'll figure out what to make you. It's a little gift of mine." She waved him over as she plopped a tiny up before the waiting girl.
"Ta ta~ I'm going to get started!" Lex said, waving and disappearing into the kitchen. She started to play her music list full of songs and bands considered emo, mostly My Chemical Romance and All American Rejects, with some Panic! At the Disco mixed in. "Whooaoaoaoaooo the good, the bad, and the dirty!~" She sung happily to the beat, her years of vocal lessons making her voice strong and clear.
(This is your friendly stalker reporting: OHMYGODPANICANDMCR)
(I KNOW, I RANDOMLY CHOSE ONE OF MY MOST PLAYED PLAYLISTS AND IT WAS JUST PANIC, MCR AND AMERICAN REGECTS!)
(OHihOhOhOoHoHjOoOOOOOOH THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE DIRTY
That whole album is just mmmm)
(AAAAAHHHHHHHHH
I actually don’t know American Rejects, I’ll look into them!)
Damien stepped up to the counter unable to suppress his surprise. This cafe was probably the most charmingly comfortable place he had ever been in. It was warm, pulling him in further and further as he walked. The scent of the espresso beans mixed with the sweetness of the pastries they sold, made his stomach rumble. And the girl behind the bar… Damn. He smiled at her, liking the way the soft lighting of the cafe cast a sheen on her raven ponytail. "Oh…uh Damien. I'm Damien." he said, answering her question and expectant look.
(MCR dude. Always MCR.)
Eris gave a hearty chuckle. "Pay no attention to my lovely friend. They like their music and I feel it adds a bit of unexpected character to the shop." She winked at the patrons. She hummed, "Damien. Damien…Damien."
She dragged a finger across several different styles of tea before switching over the coffee brews. She selected one of the darkest she had. After she ground the beans, she poured the powder and hot water into a french press to steep. "Should be just a few minutes." She said over her shoulder to the gentleman, Damien. She pulled down a large mug and plopped a large spoonful of Nutella into the bottom if it. She poured the deep black coffee over it and gently used a spoon to dissolve the Nutella.
"Voila!" Eris said proudly as she placed the almost overflowing mug in front of the rather attractive man.
Lex's music changed to the later part of her playlist, the anime themes. The beginning to Attack On Titan beginning to blare and startling Lex. "Ow! Damn it!" She yelled as she dropped a pan, the fall of the appliance causing a loud clang as it resounded through the kitchen.
(Attack On Titan YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS)
Eris sighed, turning away from Damien. "One second, yea? Let me know how you like it when I come back." She casually walked to the end of the counter and then picked up her pace once out of eyesight of the patrons. She popped her head into the kitchen, looking for her friend. "Is an ambulance needed?" She asked with a slight smile.
"No," Lex said sadly. "But I dropped my croissant." She muttered, making a vine reference wherever she could. "But no, an ambulance is not needed. I just dropped my damn tray, I forgot that song was on my playlist and it startled me." Lex assured her friend and began picking up the remains of the recently deceased croissant and whatever was left of her dignity.
(I HEARD P!ATD AND IK I'M LATE)
Eris threw back her head, a hearty chuckle escaping her mouth. "Well. As always, holler if there is any real danger. Half of my job running this place is making sure you don't burn it down." She stuck her tongue out at her friend before disappearing back to the front of the cafe, where a small line had formed. Ah, the morning rush. She rolled her shoulders, pressed 'Go' on all her machines and got to work.
"Okay nerd." Was all Lex said as they finished picking up the tray. "Now I have to make a new batch of dough, guess I can get started on the jam tarts now." They muttered to themselves. As Lex worked in the kitchen, their steps began to move at the same beat as the music.
Damien had watched the young woman expertly make his coffee with a look of awe on his face. She moved effortlessly and confidently around the counter. Not a second of doubt clouding her face. His fingers itched with the need to draw her, draw this place, but he wondered if he would ever be able to capture the life that seemed to pulse here. He frowned, glancing down at his hands. He hadn't had the urge to draw since… his sister…
"Voila!" She said placing a large honey colored mug in front of him. Before he had said thank you, she vanished into the back kitchen after a commotion sounded from it. What is your name, coffee lady?
He gingerly took a small sip of the drink she had made him. Assuming what he liked from just knowing his name. He was doubtful that such a talent existed, but he was willing to play a pretty girl's game-
He froze. Then stared down at the cup before him.
It was delicious.
The most perfect cup of coffee he had ever had.
(okay uhhhhh idk if this is still open
but if you still need a bad guy, I can use one of my evil characters. Unless you need me to RP as myself, in which case, I can't do that bc I have to much anxiety to actually pull off being evil lol)
(we're still open!!! Can one of your bad guys become a vicious evil real estate agent that wants to take my cafe and build a shopping center and only cares about money and manipulating people?)
