So I must've spent the last half hour or so typing this up. It's based on a couple of prompts I found on Pinterest:

James is simply a placeholder name, btw.
So I will be playing Emmy Levington, and you'll play the role of James.
Everything will take place after Emmy finds herself in the next life. So Emmy and James will find themselves inevitably intertwined, once more, but this time, James and Emmy have switched roles. While they were dating in the past life, James had remembered everything about his past life. But this time, the memory wipe worked on him, and she finds herself dating an abusive boyfriend. It's now up to her to set things right, and help him remember who he is.

The Levington family has been in the business of selling, well, everything, for generations. They're known to be the most powerful family in existence, alongside also being the richest family in existence, so far. Emmy Levington is the one and only daughter of Sam Levington, the current owner of the family company, Levington and Co.
Emmy has everything a girl her age could ever want. At seventeen years old, she's still in school, but she soon grows bored of the everyday, predictable life. She longs for adventure. Emmy attempts to escape the huge mansion she lives in several times, but each time, her father caught her and dragged her back to her room. Seeing that there was no escape, she decided that there was only one way out. Suicide. She hatched a plan, and exactly five months, two weeks, four days, and six and a half hours later, Emmy faked her own death and ran away, this time successfully.
Her family didn't react as expected. No-one came after her, and only two months later did she see her face appear on the television. "Beloved daughter of Sam Levington commits suicide," the headlines read. But Emmy didn't mind. She was free now, free to do what she wanted.
One day, she got a phone call, the first call she'd had on her phone in years. She answered it, only to hear her own voice begging, pleading for help. "Please! You have to go back, it's the only way to prevent this from happening! I know what happens next, but I can't tell you… I'm begging you Em, please. For your sake, you have to go back…"
Emmy straightened, and hung up. She knew exactly what her future self had meant by going back. She couldn't just go back, and face her family. She knew she'd be in so much trouble, and besides, she liked her life as it was. Emmy had a boyfriend, and a life set up in New York. Though he still didn't understand why they couldn't get married yet, they still lived together, and quite happily at that.
It was unfortunate that Emmy had been spiraling downwards, closer and closer towards depression, for a long time. One night, she woke to blistering heat, and her boyfriend leaning over her, whispering, "Let me tell you something Em, wake up."
She obeyed, turning her head slightly so that her ear was more exposed. "What's going on?" Emmy asked, still not having seen the flames flickering just in front of the bed.
"I love you Emmy, and I'll see you in the next life," he whispered, getting up from the bed.
It was then that Emmy noticed the flames, dancing up and down at the foot of her bed. "James, where are you going?" she asked, her voice growing with concern. "What's happening?"
"See you in the next life," he repeated, stepping into the flames and disappearing.
"JAMES!" Emmy cried out, knowing he was gone. "James…" she sobbed into her pillow, falling asleep. Just before she fell asleep, she looked out her bedroom window. Life is better off without me, she thought bitterly, and started to count the stars, searching numbly for the hollow space inside of her where her world used to be.
When Emmy woke, she knew something was wrong. Everything was white around her, and she could breathe properly again. "What-where am I?" she mumbled, groaning slightly. She moved to sit up, and winced at the pain that went through her head.
A man she didn't recognize, dressed in all white, nearly blending into the white all around her came to sit next to her. "Emily dear, what do you remember?"
"Who-who are you? What do I remember? The flames, and oh James, he left me…" The memories came flooding back, and the tears started to flow again.
"Shh, it's okay Emily," the man hugged her close. But he too knew that something was wrong then. She shouldn't remember anything. This isn't good, we can't send her back like this, he thought. But he had no choice but to send her down to Earth like that.
