(no worries at all, like if you want to pause this one or anything, I don't mind waiting)
"Wow, creative." Magnus deadpaned, reading over Alice's shoulder as she practically vibrated in the corner of the cafe, waiting to be punched out by the computer. She managed to smack his shoulder and hide her phone screen. "no snooping on your employees." She chided, grabbing her bag and jacket from the corner and ruffling out her curls as she took off her hat. Magnus shrugged with a grin and passed her a pastry and a juice drink. "You had your screen up. Now scam, Hollow. I'm not paying you overtime." he winked and went back to the counter to continue his shift. As much as Alice and Magnus bickered, he was the closest person to her she could trust aside from her older brother. He was around the same age as her and probably would have dated if they weren't into the same sex. So instead they had a sibling relationship. Alice even trusted Magnus enough to look over Maeve when she took afternoon shifts or was out with their dad and brother on another "family event."
Balancing everything in her hands, she squeezed Magnus from behind in appreciation. "Thanks, Mags."
He grinned and gently shook her off, "Stay safe Hollow, call or text when you get home."
she nodded and went off to sit near the window, her leg bouncing as she looked between her phone and the scenery outside, looking for any sign of Lyra strutting down the sidewalk. It's partially why she didn't take notice of the car parking outside until Lyra stepped out, looking as runway-ready as ever. Alice stood, unsure of whether to meet her outside or wait.
"H-hi." She greeted, awkwardly standing in the middle of the cafe while her mind decided not to buffer anymore. "Did you want anything from here? I could probably convince Magnus to give you a discount or something." She offered, glancing back at the barista with a hopeful smile.
