"thank you! thanks for coming, too." she chirped, and then bumped her shoulder on isaiah's.
"i'll leave you two alone." and with that, she leapt up and walked gracefully away.
isaiah watched, and then turned back to leo, awkward half-smile on his face.
Leo chuckled softly and also watched her leave before turning to Isaiah, "Well, I was wondering if I could take you out to dinner sometime? You don't have to accept if you don't want to, of course."
his eyes widened, and he reached up to jerkily rub the back of his neck. "oh! um. i- i… sure. when and uh, when and where?" he glanced down, not sure how to go about accepting. this is,, awkward to say the least. hopefully dinner would be better?
Leo pulled out his phone and pulled up his contacts, "Here, put your number in and I'll text you a date and time and all the other details. All you have to do is be yourself so don't worry about a thing, I'll plan everything."
he took it gently, putting in his information and handing it back silently. he figured the guy sensed his anxiety if it wasn't already obvious, and didn't want to make the situation more awkward by fucking up his words.
"Thank-you," Leo smiled softly, "I'll text you soon. Rest up and congratulations again on the amazing show tonight." He sent Isaiah a wink before he walked away, looking over his should with a grin before he disappeared.
isaiah flushed, not visible on his darker skin, but his face did still heat. "i… will?" he murmured as leo walked away.
((timeskip to the dinner/ when they start texting?))
(Uh, yeah)
Leo sent Isaiah a few text messages about when they were to go out. He hadn't specified where they were going and told him to dress casual yet formal. He was currently on the way to pick Isaiah up.
isaiah was currently pacing in his chosen outfit. leo was on his way, and nerves were high. he had picked a grey button up and black jeans, with some Very Clean converse. arielle sat on his bed, smirking.
"you'll be fine, dummy. it's just a boy."
he sputtered in response, only managing to get out
"i'm still very anxious-" before there was a knock at the door.
Leo rocked back and forth on his heels while he waited for the door to open. He, himself had dressed in a nice pair of denim jeans, a light blue button up and some vans and he was wearing his glasses instead of contacts.
he stopped in his tracks, fanning himself with one hand. arielle gave him a thumbs up and a "don't keep him waiting, loverboy." he returned the gesture briefly, dropping it to go open the door.
isaiah pulled it open, trying not to look nervous.
"hi."
Leo smiled, "Hey," He looked Isaiah over once, slightly breathless, "You look great. Perfect."
isaiah kept his eyes stiffly on leo's face, trying for a casual smile. it ended up as more of an awkward grimace as his heart pounded in his chest.
"uh, thanks? i mean, i mean thank you, you look great too."
Leo chuckled a little, "Thank-you, ready to go?" He held out a hand.
"yeah."
during the car ride, isaiah crossed his ankles and kept his hands in his lap. he didn't start any conversation.
Leo opened his mouth a few times to start a conversation but decided to close his mouth. They'd be time for talking later. He pulled up at a park, quickly hopping out and opening the door for Isaiah before he had a chance to open it himself.
he looked up as leo opened the door for him, thanking him quickly and getting out of the car. as he exited, he looked around at the park in slight wonder. it was a pretty place.
The place Leo took them too was a small picnic not far away from the main center of the park with fairy lights strung up around the place. A picnic was laid out with a range of food, drink and spreads.
isaiah looked around in silent wonder, uttering a small "wow…" as they got closer.
"I-I figured you wouldn't want to be around lots of p-people so I thought a picnic would be good…" Leo rubbed at the back of his neck.
