He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and squeezed knowingly. "I promise to have fun if you promise to have fun."
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and squeezed knowingly. "I promise to have fun if you promise to have fun."
"Of course I'll have fun. It's the lantern festival," Zen laughed, kneeling to make sure Aria was properly strapped in.
Kyler held up his hands in surrender, pretending to be offended. "Okay!"
Zen looked around, spotting her favourite stall since 2 years ago. "Cmon, it's Hunter's stall."
Kyler followed her, keeping up the facade of being bored.
"Hey bro!" Zen said happily, surprising Hunter. His freckled face grinned back, and he ran his hand through his curls. He got excited when he saw Aria and knelt down to play with her hands.
Kyler gave up, walking over to Zendaya and putting his arm around her waist.
Zen laughed as Kyler's breath tickled her neck. "Your Lantern Photo Shoot is scheduled for… 8:00." Hunter said, looking at his schedule.
"Aria, we're counting on you to remind us," Kyler said jokingly. "8 o'clock, alright?"
Aria smiled and waved her hands. Zen looked around, as was extremely excited to spot her best friend. "Alya!" She yelled, running up to the dark skinned girl.
Kyler watched her with a smile. "C'mon," he told Aria. "Let's go catch her." He waved a brief bye to Hunter and pushed the stroller towards the girls.
"How long's it been, Daya?" Alya asked after breaking from the hug.
"3 months, I think. Aria showed the first signs of her magic a few days ago."
Kyler grinned. "Hey, Alya! What's up?"
"Well, unless it's changed, the sky," Alya laughed, her comedian side showing.
Kyler grinned. "Haha, you're hilarious. Seriously, how are you?"
"Yeah I'm great. Max just turned 3, and…" She pointed at her stomach. "Got another one coming."
Kyler's eyebrows raised. "Congrats! I guess… if you like puking…" He knew she would know he was joking.
"Well, I'm almost through my first trimester. Not everyone gets morning sickness," Alya replied, glancing at Zen quickly.
"I was kidding," he added late for good measure.
"No, I know. I wasn't necessarily saying it to you." Alya glanced around. "Look! The dancing pavilion! Let's go!"
Kyler sighed when Alya and Zen practically bolted in their direction. He looked at little Aria with a smile. "Gotta keep up," he told her and started pushing her in that direction.
They reached the pavilion as a dance was finishing. People spotted Zen, who had always sung a few songs for them to dance to. "Sing for us! Sing for us!" a chant started.
Kyler appeared behind her and whispered in her ear. "The people have spoken, my love…"
Zen smiled and then walked on stage. She whispered to the musicians and then walked up to the microphone. "Are you all ready to dance?!"
The audience cheered. Kyler stood aside with Aria in his arms and watched, pride shining in his eyes.
