(Gotcha! I just wrote up my character, so I'll go ahead and post him here! ^^)

Name: Marco Townsend
Age: 20-ish, somewhere in there
Gender/Pronouns: Male, he/him
Orientation: Currently unsure/questioning
Appearance: Average height, pale, slim and slightly angular with a sharp jaw and sharper nose. Swept-back wavy dark blond hair, worn slightly longer than is customary. He has pale hazel eyes that look almost yellow in certain lights and a tendency to stare right through people. Dresses very neatly in practical but expensive clothes. Usually wears a severe or preoccupied expression; rarely smiles.
Personality: Serious, introverted, proud, with a blazing ambition and laser-like focus. Not very good at making friends or socializing, but does well in class. Can be temperamental and secretive, but deep down he's a little lonely and just wants to prove himself. Side interests: botany, canine obedience, folklore.
Backstory: Marco is the only child of Theodore and Anne Townsend. Theodore was a well-renowned doctor before his retirement, and owns a large estate in the country. Marco grew up there mostly isolated, except for his time at the local boarding school, which he hated. His mother was bedridden with a mysterious illness for most of his childhood, and passed away when he was fourteen. He never had a real relationship with his reclusive father, but he inherited his passion for science and from an early age was obsessed with becoming a naturalist. By the time he came to the university, he had already published a paper on a species of Welsh fungus which he had discovered himself. He's currently studying to become a member of a local society on natural sciences with the aim of developing new medicines—but between classes he is seemingly pursuing other, more mysterious goals.
Other: Marco has his own slightly-less-than-legal experiments ongoing throughout his time at the university, but he would be hugely interested in the idea of building a human from scratch, and would have absolutely no moral objection to helping if someone asked him to xD

Name: Lucy Rainsford
Age: 24
Gender/Pronouns: Cis woman, she/her
Orientation: Biromantic asexual
Appearance: Lucy's once-long curly blonde hair, formerly her mother's pride and joy, is now cut short and choppy in the current men's style. She is tall enough to look like her age as a man, but most would read her face as just-18 rather than 24. She is pale-faced and muscular, with a small chest and very little in the way of traditionally feminine features. She wears loose white shirts with the cuffs rolled up and grass-stained trousers, her brother's old clothes.
Personality: Currently? Logically minded, prone to anger and bursts of passion, likely ADHD and Bipolar. Can focus on anything that particularly interests her, but doesn't do well with anything she couldn't care less about. Hates art and nature, would prefer to rule over the natural order than work within it's flow.
Backstory: Lucy grew up in a rich household, her father a wealthy lord that moved to America to marry into riches like his own like the rest of his family, and met the widowed Lady Worth. The two fell in love, had two twin children, Lucy and Sanger. Sanger and their father stayed in America for political reasons and Sanger became obsessed with hunting, going off on a hunting trip and allegedly getting himself killed by his own dogs. Lucy and her mother moved to London and stayed there, receiving monthly allowances from Lord Rainsford in order to keep themselves afloat. Lucy's mother also started a dressmaking business, and wrote several well-selling cookbooks. Lucy eventually grew bored of her life, and used her brother's old clothes and a lot of hope and set off for an education… and to create life.
Other: She's obsessed with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Is highkey classist, seems to think poor people are below her mostly due to her father's influence. She is slowly growing out of her classist opinions, but is dragging her heels a bit in doing so.

Lucy stared up at the university building with a deep rancor. This was her greatest challenge yet, one that she would most certainly overcome with triumph… but she wasn't too keen on it. She felt estranged from the place, and she hadn't even set a foot inside. But Sanger would have taken this on with courage and dignity, and if she were to be Sanger for now, then she would be him in every sense, even the senseless parts of the man. Men… the least sensible, least logical of the sexes, especially those below her station, and she wasn't even being biased. It was simply fact. Lucy walked through the gate where students were slowly piling into the courtyard, and she looked around for anyone she could strike up a conversation with, preferring that others would interact with her first but knowing that they likely wouldn't, young men had the tendency to stick to their own circles she'd noticed. She would have to build her own circle were she to fit in here. She scanned the area again, and being so busy scanning the area she barely noticed the people around her. A personal folly of hers she would be sure to correct, if and when she cared about it.

Marco disliked crowds. They were difficult to navigate, noisy, and oppressive compared to the calm and quiet of his isolated home in the country. There always seemed to be someone shouting, he always seemed to get pushed or bumped into, and after a few minutes he always forgot where he was going. So today, it was his mission to make it through the thronging courtyard as quickly and discreetly as possible. He just wanted to acquire the class schedule and find out where he would be living so he could retreat there and start settling in.
He drew himself up to his full height, luggage in one hand and notebook in the other, and strode purposefully forward. He didn't try to pick out familiar faces or return friendly smiles—he wasn't interested in cultivating a social life here. But unfortunately, his attempts to pretend the crowd didn't exist turned against him, and he failed to notice the person in his path until they nearly collided.
"I beg your pardon," he said coldly, unwilling to admit his own fault. The blonde student looked distracted as well, so perhaps he could move on quickly and not get drawn into further conversation.

Now Lucy wouldn't be having this, someone walking into her willy-nilly. "Hey! No, stop. You ran directly into me, likely on purpose like the brute you are, and now you have the guts to blame it on me instead of apologizing? No, I won't have that." she had remembered to make her voice deep, but she was a bit raspy so her voice came out sounding quite awkward. Now she was drawing attention, good. Maybe she'd meet someone this way, if only by getting her face known. An impassioned young man always drew crowds.

Marco bristled visibly at the other young man's imperious tone. "I assure you, I meant you no intentional harm," he snapped. "You were walking quite against the flow of traffic. I don't believe I owe you an apology of any sort." This was the exact opposite of what he'd wanted from his first day, but the insult to his honor swept all other thoughts from his mind. "If anything, I deserve an apology for the way you are currently speaking to me."

“I was walking right with all these other passionless slobs like you, thank you very much.” she was drawing even more attention now, although not strictly in a way that would be useful to her. Insults could go any way, good or bad. “And I certainly don’t owe a pig like you an apology! Look at you! I bet you rely on your mother to just get you out of bed in the morning, feeble as you are!”

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

Had Marco been prone to violence, he might have taken a swing at his challenger right then and there. But fighting was something he'd never done before, and anyway the fury that now washed over him was of the icy calm variety, making him go still. He straightened, staring down his nose and speaking with perfect control. "Your mind is addled, or you are trying to provoke me. I can see no other reason to hurl such crude, ignorant insults at a total stranger. They say the liar always accuses others of lying, so it may be that you are in fact the feeble one and not me." Turning briskly, he made for the door leading inside. "Good day."

“Hey!” she screamed. “Get back here!” and then she ran at him, tackling him and pinning him down in the way she always did when her brother was alive. Quickly assess for weak points, then pounce. Gosh, maybe she was just as much of a hunter as her brother! That wasn’t good. “Be a good man and hold still, it will hurt less.”

“I want an apology!” she said through gritted teeth, twisting one of Marco’s arms behind his back in a way that was guaranteed to be painful. “I want it now, in front of everybody!” she yelled directly in his ear.

(Holy shit what if they ended up being roommates? I’d love to see it.)

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

(Oh man that would be interesting xDD Actually I think it's they only way we'd get them to realistically speak to each other after this, so sure lol, roommates it is!)
Marco yelped. "All right all right! I apologize! Good lord, just leave me in peace!"
This was the height of indignity and it brought back a few unpleasant memories from his childhood boarding school. He clenched his teeth, silently vowing to get his revenge in the coming days, but for now all he could do was hope that this enraged young man would soon get bored and release him. It seemed no other students or staff would be rushing to his aid.
