Skye whipped around, his features turning stony, glad he had his mask on at the time as he whipped up a shield around Ana so Impulse couldn't hurt her directly as he drew his blades, violet streaks appearing on his skin as he summoned his powers.
Impulse let out a hoarse laugh, sending chills down Ana's spine. "You seem to forget that I don't need a shield to get to your beloved." Her hand moved and Ana started to choke. Impulse's powers could take control of the human body. As it wasn't a physical wound, nothing would happen to Skye. Impulse knew that. She let Ana's throat go, and Ana gasped for breath.
Skye glared at her, snapping his fingers, and ending up behind Impulse, tackling her from behind.
"It's not going to be that easy," Impulse cackled, grabbing Skye and tossing him onto the ground. "You should know by now that I don't go down without a fight."
Skye scrambled to his feet, "Since when do ever make it easy?!" he growled, keeping his emotions in check as he tried to probe her mind for a plan.
"Since you never want to hurt your precious bonded," Impulse sneered, her black hair bobbing in front of her face.
Skye stiffened, trying not to make it obvious how torn he was as he probed the other's mind for anything he could use. Finally he gave up, forming a burst of pure power and sending it in her directiong.
Impulse took the blast at full force. At least, it appeared that she did. When the power faded, she laughed. "You seem to forget my own powers, Alta." She laughed as she tossed the ball of his power into the air, sending it back to him.
Skye shielded, letting the power melt into his shiled, before slipping through a portal, ending up behind her, and throwing it back. All in a matter of moments.
Impulse was propelled forwards into a crate near Ana. As she started to pull herself back up to a standing position, Ana scrambled away. She was only here to see the injuries, not to get involved in the fight.
Skye hummed, warping up in front of her, "Big bad and dangerous are we?" he taunted.
Impulse looked up at him, a chilling grin on her face. Her finger twitched, and Skye's bones suddenly started to feel like they were breaking and snapping.
Skye clenched his teeth, falling to his knees trying to ignore the pain, instead gasping for air and trying not to scream.
Ana felt the pain softly. It wasn't happening to her, but her bond with Skye made her feel it. She gritted her teeth, able to endure the pain easier than Skye.
Skye clenched his teeth, forcing himself to try and think clearly. Carefully he sent one thought towards Impulse, the scream he was holding back.
(Basically he's letting out the scream of agony telepathically in her head.)
Impulse blocked the scream, having built-up a defense after he did it many times. "That's not going to work anymore, star-boy. I know you. I've beaten your silly little jokes."
Skye growled, warping behind her again, drawing his blades and attacking, hoping to draw her off as he channelled the thoughts of the people from the streets below into her mind, filling her mind with chatter.
"Are you trying to add more voices to my head, little boy? I already have those!" She yelled, tossing him onto the ground.
Skye rolled, scrambling to his feet, pulling back the telepathic link, trying to think of another way out. "What do you want?!"
"I want you to die," Impulse cackled, as if it was obvious. "And no, I don't care about your precious bonded. At least you'll die together."
Skye paled a little, returning to an offensive stance, swords in hand.
"Oh, relax," She sneered. "I'm not going to hurt Ana. We're friends. Aren't we, Ana?"
"I don't know who you are."
"I think you do."
"You realize that if you hurt me, you hurt her right??" asked Skye, wary.
"Yes," Impulse said simply. "I know of that. But…I won't be hurting her directly. That's a different story."
Skye growled, trying to think of as way out. Okay… she has to have a weakness!
