((nice
reo had gotten to the bar at the crack of dawn, pulling up on the dusty bike into the grass beside the place. just as scheduled.
now, as a small trickle of customers came and went, he stared blankly ahead, waiting for the rustling of a new customer setting themself on a rickety stool. he eventually heard it, blinking out of his daze.
"hey, what can i get you?"
Jay looked up, he had just arrived at the bar and had sat on the stool. The guy was asking him what he wanted, “Moonshine…” he said still half asleep.
"moonshine? this early?" reo scoffed, eyes clearing up further. "what makes you wanna get fucked up at-" he glanced quickly at the old clock on the wall, clearing his throat. "11 am?"
Jay looked annoyed and sighed, "Thats none of your business is it now?"
reo lazily put his hands up in a placating manner. "hey, i'm the one serving you. i have full rights to refuse service if i deem you don't need alcohol. i don't need to juicy details, pal, but if you're a chronic drinker you gotta go."
"I'm not. I'm only here for one glass. Now can I have it or not?" Jay asked, sounding angered, he was slightly off his mind set today and needed something to calm him down.
"sure, bud. be warned, i don't serve full glasses of certain alcohols. i've got 3 shotglasses." reo turned, bending down to shuffle through a bag of clear plastic screw-on cap bottles. they had labels, names written in neat script. he pulled one, deftly unscrewing it and pouring three shots. he pushed them to jay, face a practiced neutral. "here you go."
Jay nodded taking the shots one at a time. When he was done he paid and stood up to leave, “Thanks for the service.”
"mm. you too. and, you know if you ever need anything the bar's right up here. you look new." he gave a tired half-smile. "this place is brutal. take care of yourself."
he paused for just a beat, and then slipped him a small, ripped piece of paper with a series of digits on it.
"think of me as your emergency contact."
Jay lightly smiled, “Yeah okay. He took the paper and looked at it, “And yeah I am new. I’ll see you around…”. He left quickly and started heading home.
"see you around." reo watched him leave, and then heard the small ping of a message. he checked his phone, sighing.

He seems interesting. It's cursing time!
Sincerely,

((jesus sorry i didnt respond. probably when jay gets himself into some trouble and reo has to come save him
(okay)
Jay walked along the streets of the city, not paying much attention to things around him. He didn't even notice the man coming up behind him until, hand was firmly placed over his mouth and his hands were tightly held against his back. He struggled as he was dragged into an alley and pushed up against a wall, a knife to his neck, "Hello pretty boy.". An obviously drunk man tutted, stroking his neck, "How about we have some fun?". Jay rolled his eyes and tried pushing him away,, but the knife dug slightly into his neck and blood dripped from the wound.
reo had just exited the bar, looking down the desolate road when his phone buzzed.
"oh shit!"
he booked it to the side of the bar, flinging his leg over his bike and kicking off, revving the engine as he went. he flew down the old pavement, pushing the limits of the bike as far as he dared. he slowed to a stop in front of the clinic, leaping off the bike. reo sprinted down the dirt path some and veered behind, desperately listening for any indication of a struggle. eventually coming upon the place, he saw an older man had jay pinned to a wall, knife at his throat.
oh boy.
he sprung, running and leaping at the man with "claws out", so to say. he flipped the butterfly knife he always kept at his belt out, and held it over the man's throat with his right hand while his left kept the stranger's hands behind him.
"wanna try that again, bud?" he seethed in his ear, pressing the knife the the base of his neck.
Jay watched the guy run into the alley and shove the older man away from him. He stood there for a second, confused. How'd he know I was here? And why did he save me? Jay touched his neck, feeling the blood from the cut and looked at it with a sigh.
The older man growled in anger and looked at Reo, "God, calm your shit. I was just trying to have a bit of fun and I didn't know he had a boyfriend, okay?"
Jay lightly blushed, Boyfriend? Not even close, though he is hot as hell.
"bit of fun?"
reo pressed the knife harder against his throat, making an identical cut to jay's.
"bit of fun? like i'll believe that, you shameless rapist. get out of my fucking sight. and if i ever catch wind of you harassing younger- no, anybody, you'll answer to this pretty blade. capisce?"
as he released him, he muttered loud enough for all of them to hear "boyfriend or not, you don't harass people."
Jay stared at Reo in amazement, he didn't know whether to be scared, in love, or both.
The guy grumbled some curses under his breath but quickly left. As soon as he did, Jay smiled at Reo, "Thanks…"
reo let his hair down, shaking it, and swept it back up in a messy knot before he quirked the corner of his lips. "not a problem. as for how i knew, things felt off, and most sexual crimes happen back here. you need a ride?"
Jay blushed, "If it's not too much trouble then a ride would be great." He sighed, "Never knew there were such horrible like this in this city…"
reo talked as they walked back around to the bike
"oh yeah, bub. it isn't even a city. a village, mate. less than 100 people. we don't have a real name, just… 'offa milwaukee'. you'd think such a small place would be wholesome, but there's crime like hell. anyway, hop on behind me. here's the helmet."
he slipped on, handing jay the helmet and waiting patiently for him to get on.
Jay softly smiled, took the helmet, easily putting it on; and got on behind Reo, leaning against his back slightly, "Okay, let's go."
reo nodded, kicking off. he sped up when he got to the main road, tossing his head in the wind.
(does he have an apartment or live in the motel for the time being?)
(Apartment)
Jay held onto Reo tightly, keeping an eye out for his apartment.
after a while, reo heard a faint shout of "here!" coming from behind him and slowed, turning into the parking of the building.
"there you are… i didn't get your name?"
