also because this is kinda chaotic it doesnt matter how long of a reply you write as long as it contributes something to the "plot"

Misty giggled, arms spread out as she ran around in circles in the middle of the town center. "Oof," she let out, as she ran into someone. She paused, looking up at the person she'd run into. "Sorry!" she squeaked, in her little girl voice, and then ran off in some other direction.

Nathaniel tumbled to the ground and watched the girl run off, bewildered. Only weighing about fifteen pounds (his bones are hollow and he's smol anyways) meant he could easily be tossed around. He got up, gathered himself, and set off to find the strange girl.

Being in the town center, Misty quickly spotted something she liked. Of course, she still had no concept of money and ran over to a small cotton-candy stand. Hands clutching the edge of the top, she stood on her tiptoes and still couldn't see over the edge. "Excuse me? Can I has a candy?" she asked, her voice giving away all of her excitement bubbling inside her, ready to burst.

"Hm? Who's speaking?" the man running the stand got up, looking around the corner. "Oh!" he exclaimed, a bit surprised. "Hey, where are you parents?"

"I dunno," Misty said slowly. "But can I has a candy?" she repeated, looking into the man's eyes with her best impression of puppy eyes.

(As a side note, she really doesn't need more candy, with all of that energy inside of her lol)

Nathaniel eventually stumbled across the street that Misty had gone down and followed her to the table. He was even smaller than she was and couldn't actually see anything on the table, nor did he know what cotton candy was anyways. His small, crumpled wings were folded on his back as well as they would fold, and he was just wide eyed and curious about absolutely everything. A strong gust of wind came by and toppled him to the ground again.

"Sorry, not unless you can pay for it, kid. I gotta make a living off of something, y'know," the man sighed, and went back to his place behind the table.

"Aww," Misty said, disappointed. She turned around, ready to go find something else to do when she saw Nathaniel on the ground. "Hey! Whatcha doing on the ground? Come play with me!!" she took his hand excitedly, trying to pull him to some other place she thought was exciting.

Nathaniel couldn't do much to stop her, even if he wasn't dazed and dizzy. "Uh… okay?? What do you mean by 'play'?" He asked. Playing wasn't allowed back home. Only work. He would get punished if he ever tried to play.

"I dunno, look at all the cool things we can do around here!" Misty gasped, seeing a merry-go-round, and changed her mind, heading for the ride. "Ooo there's a fun ride! Well, I mean, besides that mean guy back there," she said, pouting a little. "I really did want that candy."

"I don't think he's allowed to give it to you without payment." Nathaniel hummed thoughtfully, stumbling a bit when Misty jerked his arm again. "Who are you anyways, miss?" He asked weakly.

Misty stopped short and took a step back, to get a good look at her newfound friend. "What do you mean? You mean… you have to pay for things? Also I'm Misty, why do you ask? Also, why do you get to have wings? I wanna have wings toooo…"

"I'm Nathaniel, and they don't even work." Nathaniel sighed softly, flapping his crumpled wings and wincing a bit to prove his point. "And yes, people are generally expected to pay for goods."

"Oh, poo," Misty sighed. "Why can't everything be free? I don't get it… oh- speaking of actually having to pay for things, what's money?"

"Well, it's different for every country, but in this one, there's green dollar bills and shiny silver and copper coins that are all worth a different amount." Nathaniel explained.

"Oooo, shiny silver coins, you said? I wanna find shiny silver coins now! Then I can have a collection!" Misty said eagerly, taking Nathaniel by his hand and dragging him over to the merry-go-round. Though she had briefly gotten distracted by talk of money and wings and flying, she still remembered her desire to ride the merry-go-round. "…how do you get on this ride?" she asked, confused.

"I presume you ask the man in the front. I don't know if we're required to pay before we get on, though." Nathaniel hummed softly, looking up at the merry-go-round. He was quite familiar with riding horses, but these didn't seem particularly dangerous…
