Belladonna seemed at ease as she sat there, a content look over her face, her eyes scan around the restaurant before the waiter came back over with water. Belladonna orders her food and the waiter nods before glancing at Orion.
Orion orders their food as well, smiling up at the waiter before looking away and out the window next to their table. They watch the raindrops run down the glass, humming softly.
Belladonna seemed to relax as she looks around the restaurant. A few faces she recognized, a few others she didn't. An older a veteran of the Wisteria wandered over to their table and offers a kind smile. He seemed genuine enough, however Belladonna seemed hostile. The man glanced at her before setting his sights on Orion. "Is this a new friend of yours?" He asks curiously, a wide smile on his lips. Belladonna pursed her lips. "Yes. Their name is Orion. Now leave." Her voice was sharp. The man glanced at her before leaning towards Orion and whispering, "I wouldn't stick around her. Rumors have it that whoever teams up with her or hangs around her ends up dead." He winked, "I'll be off then. Keep in mind what I said newbie, good luck."
Orion leans away from the man as soon as he leans towards them, an immediate scowl on their face when they hear what he has to say. "Ok first off, get your nasty face away from me. Secondly, even if you know her better than I do doesn't mean you can basically insult her right in front of me. Back off"
Belladonna watched the interaction, a flicker of amusement crossing over her features when the man paused at Orion's hostility before shrugging and turning heel. "If you die, it's not my fault. I gave you fair warning." He shrugged and waved a bit before walking away. Belladonna eased and took a deep breath. "Atlas. He's an asshole." She murmured angrily. She took a swig of her water to calm herself a little bit.
Orion glares after Atlas before turning back to look at Belladonna, huffing softly and sipping their water as well. "I could tell-" they mumble and watch her for a bit before looking out the window again. They were willing to insult anyone if that person was being a jerk, so they honestly cooled down pretty quickly- they supposed this is why people called then the, "Stereotypical fiery redhead"
Belladonna seemed rather tense after that encounter, her firsts clenched and her eyes narrowed. However when the waiter came with their food, she was kinder and seemed to be in a somewhat better mood. It was obvious that Atlas had hit a chord in her since she was still tense after the waiter left. She ate for a moment before glancing at Orion. "So… is there anything you want to know about The Wisteria?" She tilts her head slightly.
"Hm.." Orion tilts their head before shivering, sipping some more of their water as they think. "Hmm.." They hum before huffing, "..God I've always been horrible about thinking up questions about things.."
She chuckles into her hand and finishes off her drink before clicking her tongue. "No pressure, I just figured you might be wondering what's in store for you in the Wisteria." She sets her cup down. "You've already proven you've got guts." She laughed softly and stretched a little.
Orion smiles a little from what Belladonna said, taking another sip of their drink. "I've been told that I'm anything but level-headed, though most people don't call it guts- they call it being too loud. So I'm glad you don't see it that way"
"Sometimes you have to trust your gut. Being level headed isn't always going to save your ass." She shrugged, and smiled a little. "Well. The way I saw it when I ended up at your home that night was a kid who fought back." She chuckles, "Level headedness doesn't mean shit unless you're able to take on an opponent. Some of the most level headed people still freeze because they lack guts."
"True, it's good to be a combination of both. I know a few people who are the most smart, level-headed people yet couldn't last a second in a fight unless someone helped them" Orion hums as they silently move the salt and pepper shakers into the formation that they preferred. It was just an absentminded thing they always did when they were at restaraunts.
She nods, "Exactly. Someone must be a mix of both, otherwise they wouldn't survive a day of the hell we live in. No one, not even governments, know of our existence. There is only one that we work with. Of course, that's classified information you'll probably learn once you're high enough in ranks." She smiles a bit and rubbed at her head. "You'll be an expert hunter in no time."
Orion nods and smiles again, watching their glass of water for a bit before looking up at Belladonna. "Thanks, I'm glad you think so" it was nice to get a compliment, no matter how neutral it was.
She chuckles and tilts her head at Orion, "I don't just think so. I know so." She taps her temple and chuckles, "Call it a sense of mine." She hums and leans back in her chair. "Once we're done, you ready to head to headquarters?" She asks cheerfully. She definitely seemed to be in a better mood.
Orion has to stop themselves from smiling wider, watching Belladonna and shivering. "Yeah, that sounds cool. I'm excited to get there but it's entirely your choice-" they hum before finishing off their water, noting that Belladonna seemed to be in a nice mood again.
She laughed a bit and shook her head. "We can leave now if you'd like." She stands and stretches from her seat and offers her hand to Orion. "Shall we get going then?" She says cheerfully. She glances around the restaurant and waving a bit to the cook before offering a kind smile to Orion.
Orion couldn't help it and let themselves smile when they saw Belladonnas kind one, humming as they take her hand and stand up. "Sure, let's go"
She pulled Orion up before squeezing their hand and releasing a content sigh as they left the restaurant. It had stopped raining now, only a little drizzle. The earth smelled new, the wind was calm. She opens the passenger side to let Orion in before wandering to the drivers side. She turned on the radio and got them back on the road.
Orion hums and smiles softly, buckling their seat belt and looking out the window as they started driving. The clouds had parted only slightly, showing the moon from behind them. That was probably the result of the rain dying down.
There was only a little longer left, since they had spent most of the day driving. About an hour or so, and that passed fairly quickly and ended up at what looked like an abandoned building in the middle of a forest. She pulled the car forward and up to the gate where a small passcode sat by the gate. She tapped the top twice before it lit up and she pressed a few numbers before driving forward. As soon as they passed the property line it was like a shield crossed over them, revealing a huge complex of buildings.
Orion watches out the window, their eyes a bit wide as they took in the sight around them. It was like the building complex just appeared out of nowhere, wasn't there only one? Oh well they supposed it just something that was normal here. They didn't really know what they expected. Orion fidgets nervously, picking at their fingernails and biting their lip quietly. Usually they had no problem going to new places but now, they were even more anxious for no reason. Possibly because of what this place was.
"If you're wondering, high tech mixed with a little demons power makes for a wonderful cover." She laughed a bit at Orion's expression. "You get used to it… eventually." She pulls into one of the buildings parking lots and nods to one of the veterans who was currently heading out. She gets the door for Orion. "Alright then, greenie, welcome to the Wisteria complex." She chuckles a bit.
"Huh.." Orion mumbles before getting up out of the car, closing the door and stretching their arms slightly. Even if they weren't in the car for too long after leaving the restaraunt, they still got cramps kindof easily when they weren't moving around. Explains partly why they were so energetic. Orion looks at Belladonna, smiling a little. Only a bit of their nervousness shined through, they were good at hiding it if they really wanted to.
Belladonna could sense the unease the other was feeling and she gently placed a hand on the others shoulder. "You'll be great." She laughed quietly and guides Orion through the buildings, the halls clean and busy with people. All of them were marked somehow with the wisteria. "We'll take you to the training deck." She says cheerfully. "They should have an intro at some point, but Marksman Eli is kind of prone to doing things randomly.
