“Beat you by twenty!” she teased. “I also have Kleenex. Need one?”

"I'm good" he laughs

"Are we going to read your stories on the porch, or…?"

"no, come on in. It's too cold out here"

Bridget smiled. “Thanks.” She was wearing a navy pantsuit, looking very professional. Her hair was slicked back into a bun and she wore her glasses.

"Did you just come from work?"

“How did you guess?”

“Oh,” she looked down. “Yeah…”

He laughs and goes to grab some books by his desk "Here" He hands her the books

She gathered them in her arms and sat down on his couch. “Which one should I read first?” she asked, looking at the stack.

"Maybe this one," He said picking up a book about a boy who dealt with depression but learns to overcome it " I tried to make this realistic fiction to base it off of my childhood, but make things different so it's not completely me. just with a different name" He nervously rubs the back of his kneck "Warning there are many triggers"

Bridget placed her hand on top of his and gave him a comforting smile before she opened the book and began to read.

Several times, Bridget would bring her hands to her mouth or her heart, but she was a quick reader, so she finished the book rather quickly.

He was clearly stressed. He wasn't even halfway and the deadline is in 6 weeks

Bridget closed the book slowly.

"…Was it ok?"

Bridget wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "It was wonderful," she whispered.

He jolted at the sudden contact but just let it happen "T-Thanks…"
