"I need to show you something," Abi said to Randy. The couple was in a trailer, having to perform at a charity concert in 10 minutes. Abi had decided to finally show Randy the nanotechnology suit she had been making him due to recent events, and the possibility that their identities could soon be exposed.
"Sure, what is it?" Randy asked stopping his relentless spinning of his drumstick. He always fidgeted a lot with things before a show, a bit of a ritualistic thing for him.
"You know how I've done our bikes over with nanotechnology?" Abi asked. She was currently in the clothes that she was wearing for the concert.
"Yeah?" He answered looking intrigued. He was wearing the same dark grey anorak jacket he wore for every concert with a dark green long sleeve underneath.
"Well…" Without warning, a suit exactly like Abi's Web suit - but slightly more metallic and armour like - spread over her body. It covered her face with a red full face mask. "I made nanotechnology suits for the two of us. So we're safer if we come against a strong villain."
"Woah!" Randy grinned with excitement looking at the suit. "That's incredible!"
"They're designed to enhance our abilities," Abi said, walking up to Randy and gesturing for him to stand up and turn around. "And give us some extra ones too." She lifted Randy's started to fix the small dark blue triangle to his bare skin.
Randy stood and let Abi set up the technology. "How does it work?" He asked curious as usual about the things Abi made.
"It's connected to your mind. This will hurt a little while it connects to your brain," Abi said, pressing a few buttons. The triangle sent strong electrical currents to Randy's mind, and she stood up. Suit off, She thought, and the suit disappeared.
(bump)
(Sorry, I've been a bit preoccupied latley)
Randy winced slightly as the currents travelled and looked over at Abi who was now back in her original clothes. "That's so weird but so cool." He grinned.
(all good)
"It's really simple to power. I can tech you the brains now, but nothing huge. So, to get the suit on, you simply think 'suit on'." Abi thought this just after she said it and her suit reappeared.
"Alright…" suit on he though and the suit appeared, he looked down at his own suit. "Damn thats cool!" The suit looked simular to his original with the hood and colours but it was more techy and armor looking.
"To take the suit off is the opposite, so you think 'suit off'. But for now, think 'mask off'," Abi explained, and almost immediately her mask disappeared.
mask off Randy though as the hood and bandana dissapeared. He smiled "This is so cool." He laughed lightly "I keep saying it's cool a lot but thats because it's so cool!"
A knock came at the door and Abi immediately thought Suit off.
"Who is it?" She asked, looking at Randy as if to say Get the suit off.
"It's Ruby," A voice replied. "You two are going on in a minute."
suit off Randys suit was replaced by his normal clothes. He sat back down on the couch so if Abi wanted to open the door he wouldn't just be randomly standing there.
"K Rubs, we'll be out in a sec," Abi replied, then walked over and sat at the mirror. "C'est bon, Abi. Tu peux le faire. Se détendre. Détends-toi."
Randy walked over behind Abi and gently massaged her shoulders. "You'll do great everyone loves your singing." He reassured.
"It's not the singing, Randy," Abi replied, reaching up and putting her hands over Randy's. "Our identities could be revealed. To the whole world. It scares me."
Randy sighed "I know but I'm sure things will work out, that or we just have to get through it." He explained.
(time skip a few minutes)
The band started playing. For effect, Abi was starting backstage. As she heard woah-oh-oh-oh-oh resound through the crowd and sung by the other band members, she could feel the energy rushing through her. This is what she was meant to do. "Ladies and gents this is the moment you've waited for," Her voice cut through, surprising people as she wasn't onstage. "Been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor." A dancer was creating a silhouette. "And buried in your bones is an ache that you can't ignore." While Abi was perfectly capable of doing what the dancer was doing, it was easier for her not to do it. "Taking your breath, stealing your mind, and all that's real is left behind."
Randy waited patiently for his cue then began playing alongside the rest of the band. They synchronized and got lost in their craft. Randy smirked lightly from his love of music, this band and his lovely fiance who was about to blow up the crowd.
Still backstage, Abi continued to sing. "Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after
Your fever dream, can't you see it getting closer
Just surrender 'cause you feel the feeling taking over
It's fire, it's freedom, it's flooding open
It's a preacher in the pulpit and you'll find devotion
There's something breaking at the brick of every wall, it's holding
All that you know." She smiled to herself.
"So tell me do you wanna go," She sang into the microphone, dunning put from backstage onto the stage.
"Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are running the night
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watching it come true, it's taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show," She sang with her heart, feeling powerful as the crowd sang along.
