An amulet, forged at the beginning of time. Wielded throughout the centuries by heroes and villains alike, an object of immeasurable power. Very corrupting, if you aren't careful.
But that won't be relevant for a while now. The true story starts with a prince, and his bodyguard. The prince is a powerful mage, everyone in the kingdom of Humans is. Whereas his bodyguard (who I will be playing) is a powerless Aurei (basically, kinda like cat-people in a not furry way) gifted to him at a young age to serve as his protector, mostly as a joke but also as a tool of alliance, in the smallest capacity.
The two are as close as family, they're pretty much siblings (so no shipping, my dudes) and this makes the jealousy that the Aurei bodyguard feels all the greater. However, the bodyguard ascends the ranks and eventually becomes a powerful general, both responsible for the security of the kingdom and the prince in one. The prince, knowing the jealousy the Aurei once felt, is relieved that the two are finally on even footing and can feel like equals.
So, the story starts when beings of shadow start invading the kingdom, and worse yet, showing up in people's dreams and stealing away their souls, turning them into shambling husks of a life that could have been lived to the fullest. Some of the stronger mages have been able to hold them back, expel them from their minds, but a powerless Aurei has no chance. It's a race against the clock to find a way to stop these monsters before they grow strong enough to make the whole kingdom soulless.
Rules are no smut, dark themes are otherwise okay, no one liners, and have fun. I'll post a template when someone joins.
