Raymond Green has always been told he's special, whether in an encouraging fashion or as an insult. He has suffered from Asperger syndrome his whole life. It is a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. However, from a young age, he'd always been interested in basketball. Everyone in and out of his life was amazing by how quickly he became an elite player. By the time he was in high school, he was 6'5" and the best player in the nation. One quick year in college and he found himself in the National Basketball Association, under the biggest spotlight he'd ever experienced. The affects it had on his mental health was extreme. After only his second game, he had a panic attack in the locker room in front of several media members and his entire team. The coaching and medical staff decided that he needed a steadying presence with him off the court to keep him as stable as possible on the court. He calls the only person he ever considered a friend.

Heyo! It is I, Baylee, back with a reboot! I am a huge fan of basketball and have always wanted to do a roleplay of it, but I found that there aren't many sports fans on this website. After about 2 months of racking my brain, trying to figure out how to get this to work, I came up with this. It will focus solely on the interactions between the friend and Raymond, with no basketball actually being involved in the roleplay. I would prefer the friend to be female if romance is involved. If you have any questions, just ask!

Name: Raymond Green

Age: 20 years old

Gender: Male

Height: 6'5"

Weight: 225 lbs.

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: He has medium length light brown hair that he slicks back every morning with gel, but it will often begin to come undone by the end of the day and falls over his face. His skin is naturally tan, even during the winter. His jawline is almost always dusted with a thin covering of hair, despite the fact he shaves every morning.

Usual Outfit: Obviously when playing basketball he wears his uniform, but off job, he typically wears a white tank top under an aviator jacket, with a pair of frayed and faded jeans and simple sneakers. (Imagine the typical 60's bad boy look)

Personality: He is a reserved, intelligent young man that has a tenancy to take things much more seriously than he should. Every move he makes is a carefully calculated decision. Due to his disability, he barely ever ventures out to make new friends, tending to stick to himself at all times.

Likes: Carefully made plans, sweet tea, and a good sport game.

Dislikes: Unnecessarily reckless actions, losing the time of day, and having a bad game

Backstory: (Just the intro, basically)

Fears: Acrophobia

Name: Aisling Hallow

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 142 lbs

Sexuality: Straight

Appearance: She has long, wavy auburn hair, fair skin and freckles, and bright green eyes. She has quite a slender build, though nowhere near as athletic as she would like to be.

Usual Outfit: She is usually found wearing tight blue jeans, white skater shoes, a t-shirt with some sort of design or print on them, a jacket around her waist, and a snapback.

Personality: She’s quite a lively and outgoing person, always jumps at the opportunity to make friends with people. At times she can be a little overbearing, but she means well, and will always stick up for someone she cares about.

Likes: Skateboarding, music, the outdoors, living in the moment.

Dislikes: Having to plan ahead, when people get hurt, being indoors for too long.

Backstory: Her brother used to be a basketball player before injuring his leg, and while he doesn’t play anymore, she still watches the games of his ex team just so he knows how they are doing. When the two of them were growing up, they would play basketball against each other, and as her brother was developing his skills, he taught Aisling everything he knows.

Fears: Traumatophobia

Other: I don’t think so??

Raymond stepped out of the locker room of the basketball arena at 11:45 at night, dressing in a simple pair of jeans, a white T-Shirt, and black sneakers. He ignored the camera flashes that seemed to come from everywhere as he walked towards the back exit, his hands in his pockets and his head down as security did its best to keep the paparazzi at bay. What Coach Perry had told him echoed in in his head as he made it into the parking lot, his heels scratching against the rough gravel at a steady pace: "Kid, you gotta find someone to keep you calm. You won't last a month in the condition you're in, much less a season. Take the next game off while you try to find the right person."

As Raymond reached his car, he slipped two things out of his left pocket: his car keys and his iPhone. The keys were switched into his right hand while he mashed the unlocked button of the keys. He pressed the On button as he slipped into the car, illuminating the small space as he entered his seven digit password. There was only one person he could really call, since Mom had gotten sick and Dad was dead. He pressed the Contact app and pressed down on the contact simply named "Hallow". It brought up two buttons, a little phone symbol and a text bubble. Raymond pressed down on the phone and brought it to his ear. I wonder if she still has my contact saved.

(I forgot to add this, but they haven't talked in a solid 2 years)

(Cool beans, also, you're really descriptive)

Aisling had nipped out for a late night solo skate, feeling it was time for some 'me time', as she had put it to her mother.
"It's too late kiddo, you should really be getting sleep."
"I won't be gone for too long." Aisling had pleaded with puppy eyes, and reluctantly her mother gave in. With her earphones plugged in, and her iPhone tucked safely into the back pocket of her jeans, she had left the house with a breath of relief—–thankful for the wave of fresh air that washed over her. Blaring 'The Birthday Massacre' into her ears, she set off on her journey to wherever the hell she decided to go.

It wasn't until she reached the center of town that her music was interrupted by the ringing tone. Who would be calling her at this hour?! Without even checking her phone, she answered the call by pressing the button on her earphones. "Hallow here, what can I do for you?" This was the message she responded with whenever she answered the phone, no matter who was calling.

(Is that a good or a bad thing?)

Raymond sat there in silence for a few moments, listening to the car's engine hum as he processed the sound of her voice. It was…shocking, to be honest. How long had it been since he'd heard a voice from his home town? A year? Two? Even though he had her number, he never knew what to say, and she never called him. He didn't blame her. She probably had better things to do.

He wish he had a Hummer, probably the only car he'd have enough space to pull his knees to his chest. That's when he felt the most comfortable. Why? Fuck if he knew.

"Um…." C'mon, tongue, work. "Hey. It's Raymond. Raymond Green. I, uh…..needed someone to talk to. I know it's been a while, but….I didn't know who else to call."

@The-Magician group

(Good, I love it, it's not too overwhelming!)

Shock caused Aisling to put her foot on the ground, stopping her board. She stood in silence for a moment, unsure of what to say.
It had been a good length of time since she had heard the guy's voice, not that she didn't know how he was doing since he was all over the news. The perks of being famous…

She kicked up her board, tucking it under her arm as she wandered to find a nearby bench. A small smile curved on her lips, and a breath-like chuckle floated out. "Hey stranger, it has been a while. I'm all ears, what's up?"

"I….had a panic attack today."

The last time he had a panic attack, it had been with Aisling. Public transport is never anyone's favorite part of the day, but for Raymond it was torture. So much noise, so many moving bodies coupled with the fact the average speed the bus driver drove was around 65 miles an hour overwhelmed a 15 year old Raymond so bad that he just curled up into the smallest ball he could manage and shook. Hallow had somehow managed to calm him down before they had reached school and he never had another one around her again.

"It wasn't as bad as it usually was, but…." he rubbed the side of his face the phone wasn't pressed against. "Coach said I needed to talk to someone. Um…..are you still in Narberth?"

@The-Magician group

"Of course! You know me, I like to stay close to home." Aisling laughed before it dawned on her that she hadn't spoken to Raymond in two years. She was just used to treating everyone as a close friend. She swung her legs on the bench, leaning back a little. Last time she knew Raymond to have a panic attack must have been in their mid-teenage years, and if she remembered correctly, she was the one who had been there for him. It was only natural that he would turn to her again after having a panic attack… Right?

Even though it had been two years

"Did you want to meet up in person? I feel it would be easier to talk face to face."

"Yeah, actually," he said, reaching over with his free hand and buckling the seat belt. The traffic had died down at this point since he'd been sitting in the parking lot for a while, the only parking lot still occupied being the one he was in. It was only used for players, team personnel, stadium workers, and the media. "I'm just outside Wells Fargo Stadium, so I can be at the town center in, like, 30 minutes. Can you be there?" Please say yes. I know it's late, but please say yes.

@The-Magician group

"Uhm…" Aisling thought for a moment. She had told her mother that she wouldn't be out late, but no harm could be done if she just dropped her a text. "Yeah that's fine, where abouts did you want to meet?" She was already in the town center, but she could probably kill some time by skating around until meeting up with Raymond.
This is going to be interesting, considering we haven't seen each other for 2 years.

"Um…Y'know that statue right next to the pizza shop? The one that we knocked the plaque off of? I can be there in, like, an hour. Tops."

Well, he lied. It took him only 30 minutes to reach that statue in the town center, since he didn't drop below 50 miles an hour until he reached Main Street. Getting out of his Mustang was a but of an issue, considering the fact that he was nearly as long as the car, but he got out without hitting the top of his head on the roof. A win, in his book.

After getting out of the car and shutting the door, Raymond looked around the plaza for a familiar face.

@The-Magician group

(Winston?)

When the call had ended, Aisling made her way to the meeting place, taking the scenic route. Adrenaline rushed through her at the thought of seeing her old friend again, and while it was a fantastic idea, she couldn’t help but feel a little scared. She knew Raymond had changed from the boy he used to be, but then she had also changed as well. The two of them were almost strangers…

When she arrived at the statue, she found a tall man waiting and looking around. With a deep breath, she skated towards him with a broad grin in her lips and a small wave. “Ray! Hi!”
