(So lemme guess. . . his first wife died. And then he married Synthia. That right?)
Sahlonek snorts, then gasps. What. . .

Lucitius sighed in relief at Lucendi’s answer, leaning heavily on his staff.
“No, Dylina. I am cracking, splitting in two, physically. The pain, mine love, the pain. I barely feel mine legs. I feel… strange, as if something is missing, or… maybe not missing, yet in excess. You have always known mine situation is delicate. Thus, I ask you, can you tell what is wrong with me?”he asked, his eyes pleading Lucendi.
(Yep, definitely simplified. Definitely tragic for Lucitius. Definitely weird that he thinks Lucendi is his late wife now.)
(How do we feel about bfucking up backstories?)
Lucendi sighs, and tells Qûs'ÿltn to Shut the hell up.
"Do not worry, dear. There is nothing amiss. You merely were injured in a fight. That is all." she murmurs, anguish and sorrow filling her as she looks at this broken, shattered version of the man that had saved her.
Qûs'ÿltn is nearly washed away as a literal wave of emotion sweeps through Lucendi. What the. . .?
Sahlonek slowly removes all but one piece of himself from Lucitius: a small piece of plate mail on the small of Lucitius's back. This is to keep them both from dying.
Careful, Lucendi. This is a dangerous game you're playning. he says, mind-to-mind with Lucendi.
Lucitius looked at Lucendi with a hopeful but confused look.
“I am merely injured? I… I am splitting apart, am I not? I…”he trailed off, deep in thought.
Lucitius then noticed the floating armor nearby. As the armor assembled itself, Lucitius’ pain mellowed to a sharp throb where the crack was. The ‘excess’ had mostly left.
“By the skies…”he breathed. Lucitius then collapsed, unconscious but his health much more stable than before.
Lucendi shakes her head. "No, love. You are not splitting apart."
She gasps when Sahlonek speaks to her, but doesn't reply. She also rushes forward, catching Lucitius before he can hit the ground. She looks up at Sahlonek.
"What did you do?" she demands.
Sahlonek raises his hands defensively. "All I did was keep us from shattering, literally, into pieces."
Lucitius was still unconscious, and completely unaware of what was happening. Blood seeped out of the scales on his legs and feet, though there were no obvious wounds.
Lucendi looks concerned at this. And then Sahlonek's words register properly.
"Wait- what?" she asks.
(I can't with this one, sorry. I'm letting Sam take over, as is probably obvious. I can only do a few at a time.)
(Yeah. Me, Serpentess and Meep are left now.)
(Alright, understandable)
(Really? One second apart. Gods damn it.)
(Seriously? Lmao! I didn’t even notice)
(Yes, seriously. Legit: Me: 10 You: 11, so on and so forth, changing at exactly the same time)
(Lmao!)
(Ah, damn. And that is hilarious!)
(Wait, so who goes next exactly?)
(Well, Meep has gone yet. And it probably stays in a Serp, Sam, Meep sort of order. Something like that, I guess, shrug. Whatever is fine with me, I’m casual)
(Yeah, fair. I'mma let them go. OI, MEEP!)
(That should summon them pretty quickly. They have an almost supernatural sense of when they're being yelled at on here, lol.)
(Lol)
(Goddamn it, I always end up starting a new page. The fuck is up with that? Lmao!)
(Yeah, I know, lol.)
(Sam's right, you know.)
Sahlonek shrugs and repeats what they said.
"All I did was keep us from shattering, literally, into pieces." they say patiently.
(HAH, SEE? I told you!)
(Yeah, lol. It happens sometimes.)
Lucendi sighs. "Let me get this straight- you are now joined, by the soul, to the very man that saved me?"
Qûs'ÿltn snorts and takes over. "No shit."
(Lmao!)
Lucitius remained unconscious, but he was listening to the conversation. All the words seemed more like an echoing dream, and one haunted by the distant sounds of screaming. Though, he was vaguely aware of hands, and in his dream, it was not Lucendi, but Synthia that held him, speaking comforting words to him.
