Her eyes immediately shifted towards the necklace. She approached the girl and smiled at her. "Hello."
Her eyes immediately shifted towards the necklace. She approached the girl and smiled at her. "Hello."
Summer glanced to the girl now standing next to her. "Hi… can I help you?"
(she meaning Grace) How can they be so sure about life? About every single decision, they seem so… confident, she wondered. Rubbing the rock she was holding when she came in, she knew it wouldn't do her any good, but she did so anyway, to distract herself further.
I should've thought this through… "Oh no… I just…," her ears began to heat up. "Your necklace is pretty."
This time, Grace wouldn't ruin the trick. She bit her thumb, concentrating until she could just barely taste the metallic taste of blood. Withdrawing her thumb from her teeth, she licked up the few drops of blood that had leaked out.
"Oh, thanks…" Summer's face had sadness all over it. She went back to fidgeting with the necklace.
Though her sadness was evident in her face, Kyoko payed no mind to it, she didn't have the time to. She needed to pay those guys back sooner or later and her sympathy wasn't going to help her do it. "You know," she sighed trying to find the right words to say. "a necklace like that must be worth a fortune."
Summer finally looked up at the girl, with slight anger now. "Um, excuse me? What are you trying to do? Buy it? Take it? I bought this 6 years ago for my… ex-best friend and me, I also intend to keep this for as long as I live. So please would you leave me alone?"
This isn't really going anywhere…. Kyoko was going to have to take drastic measures for the sake of not only her, but for her brother. She reached into the waistband of her pants and pulled out a pistol. "Please don't make me do this…" she said as she held out her other hand.
Summer gasped and fell off her chair, basically hiding behind it. She shoved the necklace into her pocket then put her hands up. "Who are you? Some sort of criminal? If you are you are definitely an amateur, this probably isn't the best place to do this, you know, with so many witnesses…"
She knew the girl was right, but she didn't care. If paying off those guys meant she was going to jail, then it was a price she was willing to pay. Kyoko cocked her gun and aimed it at her.
Summer looked extremely calm considering her situation, but inside, she was panicking more than she has ever before. I don't want to die yet…! this necklace is too special to me to let it go… "Is no one going to do something about this??" She raised her hands higher and closed her eyes.
"One way or another, i'm getting that necklace from you," she tried her best to hide the edge in her voice. "Dead or alive."
Summer shuddered at her words. "Is it really that important to you? That you would kill some random person? I bet you could buy a necklace at the dollar store that looks almost the exact same, and it would be a much much lower price than killing someone."
"Dude, come on." Robin moved slowly, carefully talking to the girl with the gun. "Don't do this. I'm sure we can figure something else out. Do you need money? I have money." Sometimes, being the son of a really rich man had its perks.
Kyoko turned towards the stranger and slowly began to lower her gun. Wait… she brought it up again. "Prove it."
Grace trembled at the sight of the gun. She couldn't bear to see someone else die. Emerging from her hiding spot, she spoke. "P-please…" The injury to her lip had started healing, and the bleeding had slowed to a trickle.
"I don't really know how to prove it, but… here. Take my watch." He took it off his arm and slowly bent down to slide it over the floor. It stopped right in front of the girl's feet. "How much do you need? Do you owe someone money?"
In the midst of their conversation, Summer managed to scoot out of the girl's line of sight and behind Robin and his chair. She was trying to take deep breaths to calm her very well hidden fear. She was still on the ground, with her arms wrapped around her knees.
Kyoko stared at the watch then at the girl and finally at the male. "I need four thousand…"
"Dude. That's a lot of money." Robin raised an eyebrow. "I can get you that, but may I ask why? I mean, maybe there's some other way to solve it."
Raign appeared again from the other side of the counter with a glass of lemon Fanta in her hands. Taken aback by the whole…situation that arose just in the time of her absence made her freeze. She blinked at them all, specifically searching for the one who had ordered the drink–Summer was it? "I uh…I have your drink, miss."
Summer heard the bartender's voice from behind the bar. She slowly stood up, keeping her eye on the girl with the gun. "Thank you…" She took the glass and sat back down on the ground with it in her hands.
Raign gave her the glass, "You're welcome, miss," and deftly disappeared back into the kitchen to safety.
