"Like I said I'm a vampire. So. Nothing that you can eat." She said with a sigh, fluffing her hair. (please do make sure to read over whole entire responses. She mentioned biting him earlier and said she was a vampire. So. Ye.) "You are not a close friend. Stop calling me Val." She demanded, floating away.
(I know. I'm just thinking that if someone said they were a vampire from the Victorian age, would anyone today believe them without proof?)
PD noticed her floating and thought it was some sort of prank the media has him doing. He started to scratch his head because he knew this woman was serious about this whole situation. He followed her so she doesn't hurt anyone in the city. "To answer your question from earlier… There is no law on biting humans but it is seen as attacking them or having some sort of love between them" he explains "and I'm guessing that you don't have that love connection with anyone but the man that stood you up all those years ago."
"I was not stood up." She growled out."I was cast aside by my whole family and put in stone. I don't know WHY I've been released now but nonetheless, here I am." She sighed as she looked up at the buildings. "No… laws against biting people?" (Oh good thinking! Sorry for getting on you just in the past I've had it happen. Also technically there are laws because murder.)
"Wellllll….." he said as his voice was a higher pitch, "murder is illegal and I thought you can change others into vampires just like you." He pulled her into a restaurant, which was almost empty, so she can find a substitute "just look at the menu and try to find something that will be as good as blood." He sighed as he thinks this woman is crazy or got hit in the head too hard by something. "What year were you born in?" he asks her politely.
(I was told that vampires can turn others into vampires just by biting them and I forgot about that vampires can kill someone)
"No one can remember." She said plainly as she looked over the menu, and then at the fat juicy lady who was waiting to take their order. Her eyes glazed over as her fangs lengthened, looking over her. "We only turn people if it's a bite. If we drink, we suck them bone dry."
"That is not only illegal," he said as he held her in place "it's inhumane." He looks at the menu and then looks at the fat lady "I would like some fries and she will like a rare steak." The woman nodded as he takes their menus and tells the chef, who was as fat as the lady or possibly bigger, to cook their meals. "When were you changed to stone? if you can't remember then tell me what was happening with the 'humans' during that time." he asked with a bit of emphasis on the word 'human.'
"We live in a place called Vylania. There were no humans. Just monsters alike. We did as we pleased. Went to school, lived our lives. I was vampire royalty. A princess I suppose." She shrugged. "1870 was when I was turned to stone,in the spring. I wanted a gorgeous spring night wedding." She then shook her head.
"I can't tell you anything about the monster world but I can tell you about the human world," He said as he pats her head "but from little I know I read the engraving on the podium you stood and it said 'only true love will break the spell' or something like that. And when I grabbed your hand, you came to life." The lady brought over the Steak and Fries for the two and the meat was cooked on the outside but bloody redon the inside.
Valentina grabbed his hand and bent it backwards enough to hurt. "Don't. Touch. My. Hair." She then eyed the steak, and took a bite. "…this will do for now." She said icily. "And you? My true love? My I am quite the disgrace." She shook her head and sighed. "Oh yes. Please tell me about the human world."
PD started to panic in pain quietly as he gets out of her grip "you have some strength there Valentine." he starts to eat his fries as he explains everything that happened in the human world "Us humans don't get along with each other so we create dangerous weapons that could kill the planet and maybe the moon in the process." He looks at Valentina and lightly blushes "what did you do to get this punishment in the first place?"
(oh sorry! I never got the alert that this got a response.)
(Don't worry about it. It happens)
"Disgraced my whole family. You read the plaque, you know the story." She said with a sigh as she continued to eat, a glower to her voice. "Of course I'm strong. I'm a vampire after all. You really don't anything about my kind do you?" She said with a shake of her head.
PD was rubbing the part of his arm where Valentina grabbed him. "I know that vampires burn up in the sun," he said, "but you do sound adorable." PD looks at her and gave a soft smile as he offers her some of his fries to her. "How did you meet your first love in the first place?" he asks still a bit confused about the written plaque
"We went to night college together." She said as she pushed his hand away. "And I am not. Cute. Please don't call me that. I am more the falcon than a bunny." She then took another bite of food.
"You are the meaning of 'floating like a butterfly and sting like a bee,'" he said in a calm voice "but I'm guessing that he was not your true love then." He knew he was playing with fire right now but she seemed tense from when he met Valetina to now.
"Hm? How would you know?" Again she didn't know what would break the spell, and so now she was confused and judgmental. Her eyebrow was raised in suspicion and she looked a little lost, her eyes not as intense as they usually are, definitely confused and lost.
"It said that you were turned into stone and your original love asked a witch to cast a spell, which frees you when your true love touches your hand. but when I'm guessing when he touched your hand nothing happened," he said still uncertain about the topic. He looked into her eyes and saw a little bit of softness in there.
"Hmm…" Her eyes went hard again as she thought, her regular cold nature returning. "Well. Just because the spell says your true love doesn't mean that I love you right off the bat. Vampires are supposed to be cold heartless monsters, not lovers of romance. And even though we've been made objects of love over the years, still that is not the case back from whence I came. We're terrifying creatures of mystery, unlike you humans."
"I know because even some heartless monsters have something called humanity in them that almost all humans have," he said as he continues to eat his fries. "people who fall in love immediately will fall faster but someone who falls in love and waits will fall harder." He got up from the table so he can pay for the meal they had "do you want anything else?"
"No. Thank you though." She said kindly, still having manners. "Some monsters have humanity. I'm only going to keep you around as an emergency meal, as annoyances such as yourself are why I tend to avoid humans. But. You are kind. That I can appreciate. And remember I am not human."
He paid for the meal and when he turned around the woman behind the counter said "Not a great first date with your girlfriend, huh?" PD blushed as he turned his head back to her and was speechless about it "S-she's not my girlfriend…" The woman looked at Valentina and then back at PD "Sorry I meant fiance." PD blushed a deep red and walked back to the table hoping that Valentina didn't hear the small conversation.
With her ears, she definitely heard it but made no mention of it as she tucked back her hair, and walked right over to the counter where the lady was working. "Please do not be so sexist and wrong minded thinking that men and woman can't be friends and get dinner just to be in a relaxing and less chaotic atmosphere. I am new to this country and he is showing me around, starting off with the best place to eat. Keep that in mind next time you make such rude and cutting comments." Her heavy accent helped definitely as she then walked out the door and put up her umbrella, then walked off. Soon a small corner boutique caught her eye and she flew right on inside, immediately diving deep into the dresses. Valentina was a fashion junkie, and she just couldn't resist the sparkly fabric and ornate patterns that were sewn into them. She stood in the mirror, holding up a black and red kimono, posing.
PD followed her out of the restaurant and then followed her into the boutique. He didn't know much about fashion since it wasn't a big deal for him but he saw how happy Valentina was right now. He suggested a few dresses that he thinks would catch her eye but they were all denied. He looked through the entire wardrobe dresses and didn't find one that he thought she would enjoy "Sorry… I just don't know anything about fashion…"
